First time there was a great time. Staff were great people were really friendly. The pool was great relaxing. They got two pools DJ Friday night in the bar karaoke was awesome. It's like cheers. In the shanty's lounge if you don't know nobody, you will know them real quick really friendly bar only open till 1030 but you have a good time the cabins were good but they should offer you free Wi-Fi for them cause the 11 channels you get with the TV they ain't worth nothing and on top of that you gotta rent your TV for the cabin but overall it's always a good time to get out in nature fishing is good seen a lot of nature read more

We rented a deluxe cabin for Labor Day weekend and while it was a little pricey we did really enjoy the accommodations. There is plenty to do here. There is a really nice golf course with nine holes and a putting green, Miniature golf and a small fitness center. They have two pools and a hot tub. There is a full liquor bar with live entertainment. Since it was a holiday weekend, they had planned activities like candy bar bingo, an ice cream social and reasonably priced lunch and breakfast. The staff was phenomenal. Especially the AGM, she was everywhere doing everything always with a smile on her face and remembered everyone's names. We will be back for sure. read more

While out exploring Okeechobee we decided to check out the local KOA for future camping options. After pulling up to the checkin window we were greeted by a friendly host, after explaining the reason for our visit she graciously accepted our request to drive through the campground to learn more and she printed us a day pass and provided a map of the campground as well as providing us more information about the layout and the amenities. For such a beautiful campground it was surprisingly empty, I think part of this is the fact that the snowbirds are headed back north. The campground is beautifully landscaped and well maintained, this definitely is an option that I will explore in the future - there are a number of campgrounds in the area but after checking this place out there is no need to look any further. The sites are roomy and the amenities are too many to list but will list a few, there are two large pools, a fitness center a conference center and golf course, the RV sites are to the left after leaving the office lot and there the full-time residential area within the camp ground on the far right of the property, it's nice for RVers and residents alike that it's set up this way and both areas are immaculate, this is definitely the next level KOA - I'd say one of the best I've been too. The more I drove around the better it got, I wish there was more time left in our current mini-vacation I'd love to spend some time here after leaving our campsite in Fort Pierce before heading back home. Good points: very nice facility with lots of activities, conference center, pools, hot tubs, golf course, store. It's HUGE, with plenty of spots and cabins. The staff is so helpful. Everything is clean, bathrooms and laundry facilities. Downside: everything is expensive at the store. Bring your own supplies or stop at the Walmart up the street before you get here. I have a HUGE issue with the WiFi situation. I paid extra and my WiFi is terrible. Other than that, it's fine. read more

We brought our camper for the weekend and I couldn't believe how nice the staff were.... Not just one or two but everyone was so nice and helpful. The pool/hot tub was great, plenty of tables with shade. The Shanty bar serves good drinks with a cool golf course view. There were plenty of activities and we were given a daily rundown of events and times via text. Our family stayed in the cabin and it was very nice. We will definitely be back! On the front desk staff alone Missy and Elizebeth (July 1st , 2022) made the stay. We were last minute stays. They were so sweet and overly exuberant. They got us check in smoothly. Heck Elizabeth even hoped on her golf cart and escorted us to our site. She even said I'm not leaving until I know you are backed in to your spot. Came here to check out this KOA since it was a resort and the biggest KOA in America. My KOA Patio was just the basic fire ring and a picnic bench. Normally you get a nice fire pit with Adirondack chairs. We had a large site which was good for the kids to have space to play around the camper. Good thing because the playground was lacking. The slide was covered in caution tape. There were swings and a spinner left to use. The whole playground looked due to be replaced and was very old looking. The pool was your average rectangle pool nothing special. Also, there's no WiFi here so kids couldn't even entertain themselves with TV. I've been to most of the other KOAs in Florida and I don't see myself ever coming back here again. For a "Resort" it wasn't very good. Id choose the Ft Pierce one over this. I guess people come for the golf but if you're on a family trip looking for something other than a golf course I'd choose a different place to go. I've seen Journeys with better amenities read more

This KOA had tons to offer and was a great place to visit. The spots had decent hookups and had adult amenities and family amenities as well. The adult pool had a bar connected so you could enjoy an adult beverage pool side. There was plenty to do with a general store, golf course, community fire pit, pickleball and tennis courts. Highly recommend, only think they could update is the banana bikes for the kiddos. They were a let down and an update on tetanus would be in order if you want to take them for a spin. read more

I'll never stay at this KOA again. Power consistently went out over a two week stay. Place would flood every time it rained. (Absolutely no Drainage). Pool and Bar was closed first week there. Staff was nice enough to me, but extremely rude to any family that swung by for a visit. It's also looking run down. There is no night staff or late checkin either. Showed up first night at 8:00 called the number and was told to come back tomorrow. I've never had that happen at any other KOA ever. read more

It's clean and safe, but if your looking for a real camping experience go somewhere else. This is like camping in a Walmart parking lot. If your into rv lots then it's a 5 star resort. Skip this KOA. I am a huge fan of KOA's and am actually stayed at 4 different ones on this vacation. The golf course was closed for renovation...yet every email I received from them prior to my visit advertised the golf course. Good was the key reason we made this reservation. Ok. So no golf. Let's get some food at the KOA. It was supposed to close at 6 pm. We arrived to order our food at 5:40. It was closed. I called the office. They didn't seem to care or offer any solutions. So we had to order Papa John's pizza. We paid for an upgraded campsite. We were directed to a grass site with small patio. I really wish I had something nice to say but I don't. New ownership of this campground in January 2021 and they don't seem to care. I would avoid this KOA. read more

So sad. My wife and I are locals and have stayed there several times throughout the year to include New Year's for the past several years. We have even used the store and stay during off season. As always, we booked multiple sites for New Year's and sadly we were just called to inform us that we lost all of our sites so they can be given to folks from up north who are staying longer. I guess they forget who their long time loyal guests are that have been supporting them for years during the off season. Sadly we now have to re book at another campground. This place is great. Absolutely a wonderful place to get away with the family and leave most of your distractions behind. We're in a motor home and it seems like this type of RV is the catered option here, I've seen a handful of tents only. The entire property is geared towards my family's needs for a vacation. We've played tennis, swam in the huge heated pool, biked around the entire property which is pretty big, listened to wild life in the night by our campfire as we roasted s'mores and the pups have been at our side the entire time. What can I say about the staff? Don and Sean have been very helpful, they check on you to see all is well and when I couldn't get the hot water in the RV to run they did research, crawled under the motor home, spent an hour with me trying to figure it out and finally with the help of our friendly neighbor who RVs full time across the country he realized the heater was in winter mode and minutes later I had hot water. My wife and daughter were very pleased and I couldn't believe these guys dedicated so much effort to giving me a hand. My son and I have used the shower house which is private, clean, well lit and with lots of hot water and pressure which is great when you're showering and it's 54 degrees outside. Today we're biking over to Lake Okeechobee and although I've done all the cooking while here, we're having dinner at the Tin Fish this evening. If you forget anything and have to deal with the regular world again you make the quick drive to Walmart or Publix or even better, stop in the general store where they basically have everything. The campground itself was great but the cabin we stayed in was very dirty & the mattresses were covered in ants. We inquired about switching units as a number looked empty but were told those units had broken A/C's. We cleaned up the cabin as best we could but when we left 2 days later we were covered in ant bites. If you stay here just don't rent a cabin & you should be fine! read more

Our second visit here and will not be our last. This KOA is lovely and very well maintained. The pools are wonderful. People are friendly and the staff are superb. Word of advise though. Golf carts go quickly so rent one when you make your reservations. They were even sold out at the two off site places that were recommended. Lesson learned for next time. read more

This was our first time at this KOA and we had a great time. The staff is very friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. The bathrooms where very clean and we had no problems with our camp site. The residents were nice and it's only a short ride to the beautiful lake of Okeechobee, less then a half a mile. read more

Make sure your a pro golfer if you golf here because the members run around like two year old tattle tales!! My experience we did everything right but had to be checked at the 6 hole to make sure we paid for two players which we did. The members have all rights to everything including the laundry! I was trying to do laundry one morning and a member told me I couldn't use the washer as she has 6 more loads. The good thing is there is good food and the staff are great and they roll there own eyes at the members. Very disappointing and stuffy! This campground has everything and they do call themselves a "resort". They have a 9 hole golf course, tennis courts, shuffle board, 3 pools, a mini golf course, playground, a bar & lounge with live music, and all the basic amenities all campgrounds have.Yet as we went with our 7 year daughter because of all the child friendly amenities they advertise, this is really a "community" for older campers. There are several year round golfers, regulars, and we could see there is plenty of funds put into the upkeep of this place, just not where family and children would benefit. There were no children when we went, no fishing on the grounds, they have three pools so "visitors" stay at the "family" pool, which was almost always empty unless a young toddler was visiting their grandparents. Now if it's a 55+ campground your looking for, this place is great. The bathhouses are immaculate, and there are several adult activities going on all day long you can join in on. We stopped here on our trip back south with our Camper van for a one night stay during Veterans Day weekend. After exploring most of the Sunshine State, we wanted to have one more night of camping and te folks at the KOA accommodated us and our 26' Sprinter Camper in a long Lot on paved concrete with a fire pit and multiple pools and even a restaurant on premises. Extremely clean restrooms and showers are located all throughout the park. The sites conveniently come complete with the hookups to dispose your gray and black water waste. I loved the fact that the ground was paved because it helped avoid a lot of the dust that comes up with the rocky and sandy gravel that usually is there instead. All the lanes are given state names so you'll feel like you have an actual address. I loved Glamping at this spot and the employees were very helpful in picking out a site that was private yet centrally located. read more

Under new ownership. New owners are very curt and refused to honor VIP perks earned with KOA value card. The Shanty is closed and has no liquor license. Be sure to read reviews on KOA before booking. There is a lot of chatter about the poor condition of sites and golf course. Not a lot of happy campers since possession of new owners. This used to be a favorite of ours, but no more! We will definitely avoid this place, mainly because of the attitude of new ownership. Karma is ugly. read more

New owners as of 20 days ago, apparently. Feeling is that they pander to "long term" residents. Perception is that the same more than overnight folks seem to have an expectation that they "own the place". Maybe just our own experience. We had a reservation I had made 6 months earlier, for just one night, to get us back to Virginia from Key West. There were two ladies at the office when we checked in. One didn't seem to have a clue. The other seemed somewhat rigid about things. So much that I called KOA about what I experienced. The site reserved for us was already occupied with personal vehicles owned by folks, I can only assume, fall into the "less than one night category". As it turns out, the site would not have worked for us, given the location of the utilities, the unevenness of the pad and it's length. Our one saving grace with our whole experience was the maintenance day (this was Feb 18th about 5pm.). He showed us great customer service, knowledge about what is needed for an rv site and a willingness to find what we needed, especially to accommodate my wife who is handicapped fro a stroke. Honestly, without his help, this review would have been much more critical. read more

This is the largest KOA in the United States- I had no idea when I booked, so I was thoroughly impressed with the quick run-down of all the amenities when we arrived. Even with the hustle and bustle of this place, we pulled up, got quickly checked in, and got handed the map to our site within minutes. The site was a bit narrow, but easy pull-through for our 5th wheel, and the full hookups were in a good spot for easy set up. We got there just before dark, and noticed a lot of people out walking their dogs and the smell of campfires and BBQ grills filled the air. The next morning, we really got to check out the extensive campgrounds and we were seriously impressed! The Lunch Box at the general store provided a delicious hot breakfast, there's 3 pools, and a lounge area by the pool that opens later. This campground is a bit noisy and busy, the sites aren't anything fancy, but the extras on site and the proximity to restaurants and activities in town really make up for all of that. Highly recommend and we will probably visit again! read more

Well, if it hadn't been flooded the days we were here I might be able to write a better review. All roads are filled with big potholes & after 2 days rain it is extremely flooded. Haven't been able to dump my holding tanks because the sewer at the site is filled to the top with water. The Silver Palms RV Resort which is just across the street has dry roads & no flooding during this time. No place to walk the dogs because of all the water. They need to do regrading & replacing & maybe put in some sewers. read more

This park is a little pricey but it is by far the best park in Okeechobee. All of the staff is super helpful and the residents are very friendly. It gets really crowded in the winter but there are tons of activities, 2 pools, a hot tub, and the place is pet friendly. You can always count on KOA's to live up to the brands standards. read more
