This is a family run business I have been coming to off and on since I was in high school, but I only ever got pedicures. I hadn't had a salon manicure in over 20 years when I got my first dip manicure at a different salon (not here) a month ago. They didn't do the coffin shaping correctly, but overall I was happy so I went back for my next set. This time, in less than two weeks I had two of the nails rip off-- one of which was very painful-- another that was peeling off of my nail. I called Silver Nails and they were able to take me the same day and they did an amazing job fixing me up! They did the removal process properly (soaking as opposed to sliding an acrylic up under there and popping off the dip nail), the red dip did not leave me with stained fingers like the other salon did, and the shaping was perfect. Not only that, but it was less expensive than the other salon! I was ready to go back to my press on nails before they restored my faith. I will definitely only be coming here from now on! read more

My favorite thing about this salon is that when you become a regular customer you get your own box of tools. I needed a quick polish change while out and about running errands and Silver Nails was on my way. I was greeted and got in immediately (no surprise since it was 10:30am on a Friday). Although it was just a polish change I prefer my home salon. Silver nails just removed old polish, and repolished the nails. At my home salon they go the extra mile to push back and trim cuticles. It's like a pedicure without the soak! The polish change was $8, btw. I was in a bit of a hurry so I didn't wait long before heading out. I wanted to leave the little toe divider in while I drove to make sure my nails completed drying smudge free. Here is where the language barrier came into effect... I asked the girl checking me out if she minded if I left with the little divider (I assume and HOPE they don't reuse these) and told her I'd remove it on my own later. She asked if I wanted to keep them, as if that would be OK, then came over and whipped them off. OK.... Are they keeping these to reuse?!? The ladies were nice but it can be frustrating when they speak so little English. read more

Have gone here for years but the last 2 times not such a good experience. On one visit my daughters and I were meeting up there for a pedicure and traffic was horrible leaving work and I was scolded for being late and treated rudely. Point here is the girl laughed at me when I gave her my right hand to put on the top coat and said she already did that hand. I really do like Silver Nails and I love the fact that you get your own box of tools when you become a regular customer. The ladies are usually very friendly & I feel like their prices are very reasonable for the good service you get. That being said, I do have one complaint regarding how they run things. There have been a few occasions where I have called & made an appointment (for both mine & their convenience), showed up on time, waited, and then saw a walk-in appointment seated before myself. I have also called & made apps for 3 pedicures and they split the party up where two of us will be almost done before the 3rd gets seated in a chair. While I understand that sometimes it cannot be avoided, the whole reason I call ahead is to make sure that it will work out. Sometimes I think they are not considerate to the costumer, but if you're by yourself & have some time, it's a good place to go. read more

So normally when I come here, my experience is great.... this past time not so much. I'll start from the beginning. I came in asking for a pedicure and a fill/full set for my SNS. I get asked to come back in an hour. I did. I came back and got my pedicure right away. It was just like any other pedicure, except I asked for all white and she gave me French tip... they look nice but it's not what I asked for. I then ended up getting my eyebrows waxed and they look amazing. Then I asked for an SNS fill which it them basically redoing the whole thing(I don't mind the process) the same lady I have told SNS to all night starts doing something different. I don't say anything because she was getting the color off, just faster than soaking. She asked me to pick a new color and I ask if they were SNS and she said yes. Then she broke 2 nails and glued them back together.( I was kinda pissed because I work hard to grow my nails) she used the drimel tool and was like burning my finger nails like 4 or 5 times to the point that I pulled my hand away. She then pulled out acrylic, and me knowing it was acrylic and not SNS, I asked if it was SNS. She said "oh you want SNS?" Like I have only been saying SNS the ENTIRE FREAKING TIME! SO she finally started the SNS and I ended up having to switch nail techs because my original lady wasn't sure what she was doing. I also have stuff around my nails left that I was told would take a few washes to take off instead of them just trying to take it off... I ended up leaving 40 minuets after they closed and I had multiple times when 3 or 4 ladies were standing around me talking in their language and I'm pretty sure it was about me. I'm really torn about the rating because usually I have a great experience, but today just kinda pissed me off. read more

friends, if you like getting 'yo nails did' you should definitely check this place out. what i really like about this place is once you become a client (...as in go there more than 2-3 times), they give you your own 'box' (...which you label with your name). this box contains all the tools that will be used exclusively for your mani/pedi every time you go. of course to top it off, they're really friendly and really good at what they do! so you guys should definitely check this place out! read more

I've been going to this salon on and off for ten years (due to moving out of state) and I've always gone back! I live in Winter Park now and it's worth the drive! After visiting the spa twice, you get your own box of tools for your nails (or you can just pay your first visit to get one)! I first went to this place 9 years ago. I loved my experience so much that I got my nails done here for my wedding. After you become a "regular" they give you your own nail "tool box" with your name that will only be used on you. Very hygienic! I hadn't been here for a few years, but started coming back here because I remembered how well they massage the lotion on your legs, at no extra charge that some other places have. They give a very thorough foot and leg massage! I recently did their SNS nails, it's like the effect of an overlay and gel nails in one, but no UV lights needed. No fills necessary. It's removed like a gel polish. I tried it for the first time and I love the way it makes my natural nails look! Inexpensive also, only $25 and comes in a variety of colors. The prices for other services are also very reasonable. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. I visited this place yesterday. I brought my sister and niece for a treat. We all had pedicures done, the girls that worked on us were very delicate and did an awesome job. Normally I get this service at my favorite place in Orlando but while they were doing my pedicure I liked it they I was thinking to change place and go there instead. Unfortunately at the time of check out the woman that was taking care of my payment was so rude that I will not go there again.! You go to get pampered and get nice customer service as this is "me time"" but this lady with her attitude lost our business. Sorry for the girls that did a great job but it takes a complete service in order to keep clients. My daughter and I went to Silver Nails 2 days before her wedding to have SNS nails done. Everything went great. Staff were very polite and nails looked great. However, we went back 2 1/2 weeks later to have nails redone. What a terrible experience. My daughter decided on a pink color and immediately said it was too bright. They just kept saying it would 'fade' in a few days. Eventually she asked if they could put a lighter color on instead. They said no because they were too busy. Reluctantly they did file her nails down slightly and put on 2 coats of a lighter pink. The problem was that they were now VERY thick as they had so many layers on them. She went home and removed them all. She was charged $25. I had a french manicure done and it looks a mess. All my nails are different shapes and sizes. Some of my fingers are sore and one was actually cut. As far as I know there is only one man working here and he did my nails. All the time he was with me he kept having to stop to answer the phone (maybe 5 or 6 times). He even had a cell phone in the drawer that he decided to use. This is completely unprofessional. They really do need to employ a full time receptionist who speaks english. From what I heard that all have very poor english. We did phone up to complain and were told to come back in and they would sort things out. When we arrived we were completely ignored. Eventually the man came out and said 'what do you want?. To cut a long story short he refused to do anything unless we paid for everything to be put right. He was extremely rude and basically said it was our fault. Apparently we should not have been making any requests about how we wanted our nails to look but should just let them get on with their job. I went to get a mani pedi and first off it took forever! I was there for almost 3 hours! My biggest complaint however was the woman who was working on me. She was obsessed with getting every piece of cuticle and every piece of skin around my nails. By clipping so much she just kept creating more hang nails and she cut me 7 times and drew blood. I'm just praying I don't get an infection from their tools. Every time I said "ouch" she said "it's ok". She also kept messing up the paint on my nails and cut them all crooked. She probably redid every nail at least twice. I was just ready to leave. Also, none of them spoke good enough English to have a conversation. I did not have a pleasant experience. read more

I had been Silver Nails twice in the past and I had a great experience each time. However, yesterday I went at 9:30 when they opened to get a pedicure and a fill. I do not have an appointment but they said they were empty and said it was fine. As they started to do my nails and "regulars"came in, it became evident they were rushing. I repeatedly said I could come back. Each time I was told "Not a problem". After two hours in the salon I left with a pedicure that was ok (foot massage was nonexistent) and a fill on a full set of acrylics that was awful. It's full of lumps, the nails are twice as wide on the top giving them a triangle shape, and more importantly I've got five cuts on my fingers from the nail file! I spent $65 in the salon. I just now went back and asked for a refund for the manicure part only. My fingers are so sore from them pulling off the old acrylic and the cuts I could barely use my hands last night. I was told "we don't give refunds because it was too much work for me ". I got a little bit loud and made a bit of a stink and he reluctantly gave me back $15 telling me to come in when I had more time and he would fix them. My fingers are so sore right now I don't want anybody touching them, and I certainly am never going back to this place again. What a shame... I thought this was finally a good salon I could frequent. read more
