Talk about wild! From my initial call & email to when we loaded up our vans to leave, this place was extremely accommodating and helpful when it came time to entertain my group of campers and adult staff. Springing a large group on any place last minute is daunting and the staff here was incredible. At $5 per person, we couldn't have asked for a better day off-camp! On a warm, summer day, my kiddos and I loved getting some hands-on farm experience! Meeting the cows, petting chickens, feeding goats, and watering the animals. The kids (ages 7-12) had a great time. We ate lunch in a central area with a tent where we could store our belongings during the day. Plus, they sold cheap candy in the gift shop - my campers were elated. We also got a brief tour of The Country Doctor's House - so much history! The kids loved the brief tour, but if we would have done the full-length tour, it would have been too much. They had a variety of lawn games and a laundry activity that my youngest campers enjoyed. Go support small museums and historical sites! Places like these are eager to share their stories and educate the public! Highly recommend!

Yes, you do travel the same roads all night but there's very good reason for that and the guides explained it to us. Maybe I'd feel differently about that if our tour hadn't been successful? However, I know they can't guarantee sightings and the reasoning for traveling the same areas made sense to me. We were able to see twins!! It was so cool, especially as a couple from the far south being tourists in the northern US for the first time! I also didn't feel like there was much else to do in the area at this time of night so you might as well go moose tracking! Make sure that you're there at the time they tell you to be for check in. At check in, you receive a card and that determines the order in which you board the bus. So, if you care about choosing your seat, you'll want to be there on time for a good boarding spot.

Do yourself a favor and do not go on this tour…read more The premise of searching for moose seems cool and appealing until you realize their only tactics are driving up and down Highways and busy main roads shining bright Flood Lights looking for Moose in what they referred to as "Hot Spots" but to the naked eye they just appear to be random spots on the side of the highway. They are not driving down secluded back roads or driving through national parks. Even if they are successful in finding moose this way the bright light scares the moose and they run off, and you have to be lucky enough to be on the correct side of the bus at the time of the spotting (if you do decide to go on this tour I recommend sitting near the front of the bus on the right side) The night of our tour was a Thursday during slow season so roads should have been low traffic. However there was some big event in town that made the roads really crowded with tons of drivers and the guides admitted that all the other drivers would make it really hard to see a Moose (mind you they knew about this event taking place prior to the tour and did not cancel the tour or give people a warning or option for a refund, they just instructed people after the fact) this feels dishonest because they were clearly more concerned with taking peoples money than giving a good experience The guides said multiple things that seemed contradictory. They said the moose were easiest to spot at dusk and dawn. But the tour didn't leave until 8pm and the majority of the tour took place 9pm-midnight (after sunset) they talked about that they look for Moose on the sides of the road because moose need salt in their diet to gain weight in spring to make up for the weight they lost in the fall and that the moose eat road salt. So our tour was in September, what road salt is left on the road in September? It's many months removed from winter. Also Moose have already gained that weight back and are preparing for winter. So all of the methodology behind looking for these moose did not match their actual tactics employed during the tour. I would have been fine with all of this if the tour had been educational and entertaining. However all of the moose documentaries were outdated and seemed like they were from the 90s, they didn't have real moose parts to pass around so they passed around a fake plastic moose jaw, and all of the humor, games and activities seemed like it was aimed at children and the bus was full of grown adults with no children in sight. It was like watching an episode of the office with Michael scott being cringe is the best way to explain how bad and uncomfortable these guides made me feel.

Mountain Pines Campground is a cute little campground. There are about 20 campsites and each…read morecampsite can fit about 2-3 tents. Each site also have a picnic table and fire pit. We stayed at campsites 18 and 19 and it was along the Baker River. They have free shower and toilet facilities, but only one shower and toilet per gender. They turn off their showers from 11pm to 7am so plan accordingly! There is also a water spout in the middle of the campground. WiFi is also available close to the check-in building. It's $10 per person, per night. Make sure to know your campsite number ahead of time. If you arrive late at night, they do not leave any notes or anything telling you where your campsite is. Also, ringing the bell does not help after hours. It's located near the side of the road so it can get annoying when cars drive past in the middle of the night. However, I don't mind staying here again. The folks here are nice. Campground is clean. It's also close to the Common Cafe and Tavern and the crags.

He put safety first, which meant we could just relax and enjoy the day without a worry. We spent the afternoon hanging out in Braun Bay, swimming, playing beer pong, and enjoying a delicious lunch we brought on the boat. It honestly couldn't have been a more perfect day. Captain Bill is one of those people who instantly makes you feel comfortable. He's genuinely kind, funny, easy to talk to, and somehow knew exactly what our group needed to make the day so much fun. By the end of the trip, it felt like we'd been boating with a friend. Our day was so memorable that we've already decided this is going to become a yearly summer tradition. Great day on Lake Ossipee with a Boat Bud pontoon. Owner was super friendly, if a little…read morepaperwork challenged, boat was immaculate and perfect for a party of 7 (could have handled one or two more of us). Regarding the paperwork, we had a few anxious moments when we couldn't get some questions answered, but everything was under control and in the end, so smooth getting on the water. I would highly recommend Bud Boat over the larger boat yards who were a little uppity when dealing with our questions.
