Great customer service and so friendly! Kelly set up a private tour (no extra charge) for just my son and I last minute. We were in the shop and then down the road on the trail within twenty minutes and our tour guide Butch was the best! He scaled the difficulty level to see how my son and I were handling it and once he saw we were comfortable, turned it up a little. If you are in the Lincoln - Waterville Valley area and are looking for a family friendly adventure (requires a drivers license), then seriously consider going ATV. Butch was our guide and was great! No prior experience needed. Butch was a great teacher. First 10 minutes is practice on beginner trails. Then the real fun begins. Enough technical terrain to be entertaining the entire time. They use to have customers meet at their store on main street. Due to Covid, since July they have asked customers to meet them at the trail head. They tell you the location 15-30 minutes beforehand, to keep number of customers to a minimum. Having gone hiking in the White Mountains yesterday, this was another great way to enjoy the outdoors. read more

My husband purchased the Living Social deal as a Christmas Present to me. We were able to get a date in March. I hadn't been snowmobiling in too long and was very excited to go. You check in at their location in Lincoln. Both ladies were very friendly and it was quick to complete the paperwork. They explained the waiver thoroughly and offered insurance to protect us in case of an accident (we decided it was a good idea). We were offered the use of the bathroom as there were no facilities at the actual location (very good to know!) and sent to the location (one exit down). We had a tiny bit of trouble finding the location, but we don't blame the directions we were given. I think we were too excited to listen carefully. We called from the road and they got us to the gate. I had brought my own gear as I have snowmobiled before and have my own helmet. The rentals were typical rentals...I would suggest a bandanna or a thin hat to wear underneath, but that is just me. They were in good shape and looked clean. The sleds we were given were very nice. They were in good shape and started right up. They were nice Polaris 500-550s, which I felt was a perfect size. The suspension and clutch setups were perfect for the sort of riding we were doing. Our guide Travis was nice. He gave the other couple a brief overview of how to operate the sled. My husband and I had ridden before multiple times. I would suggest that the guides spend a little more time going over how to ride for first timers and make sure they are fully set before taking off. Luckily the other couple picked it up fast and did well. Our guide was awesome about making sure everyone was ok, he was always looking back to check. He would point out "hazards" on the trail, like particularly rough sections. It was nice we got to stop for photo ops as well. Obviously as i have ridden before I would have liked to go faster, but it was definitely a reasonable speed to promote safety without being boring. We will definitely pick Outback Kayak to rent snowmobiles again (the owner met us at the end of our ride and said if we were to come back, there is another set of trails we can go on so its not the same ride!). We want to check out the kayak and ATV adventures again. I'd suggest the 2 hour ride as you spend the first hour getting comfortable with the machine. read more

Planning a group outing can be a challenge, and when I reached out to Kelly to discuss their ATV Tours, she immediately put my mind at ease. We emailed back and forth for a bit, and she was able to provide some great photos of past tours and provide details about the tour, so we knew what to expect. She was great at communicating with me throughout the planning process, and even asked what kinds of snacks our group would like or if there were any allergies she should know about. When we arrived at Out Back Kayak the day of the tour, our group of 5 could tell immediately that we were in good hands. Kelly is super friendly and knowledgeable, and she was able to give another group of customers several recommendations for places to check out in the area - some of the lesser known areas, to avoid crowds. We could also tell that Out Back Kayak takes safety very seriously - which of course made a few of our first-timers feel that much more comfortable going on the ATVs. After chatting with Kelly, we drove off to meet our tour guide Vinny who showed us how to work the ATVs and covered the ground rules. Vinny was the perfect mix of entertaining and informative. The property that we got to explore on the tour was AMAZING! We had so much fun getting to ride through all sorts of terrain, and stopping for a photo opportunity was awesome. What we didn't realize when we booked the tour was that Kelly had surprised us with a detour along the way. We ATV'd to a spot along the Pemigewesset River where she had left tubes for us to use to float down the river, where Vinny was waiting with our ATVs to take us back. It was an awesome surprise and a great way to relax on such a gorgeous day! I would highly recommend Out Back Kayak to anyone visiting the Lincoln area. We were all amazed at just how much fun we all had, and how Kelly and Vinny far exceeded any expectations we had. We've already decided we'll have to come back again for another tour, and for sure will be checking out the snowmobiling in the winter! read more

In short, I echo the other yelpers. I wrote a longer, more detailed review and sent it to the owner but I don't need to go into detail here. I hope she takes some of my suggestions like training people on how to use the snowmobiles before they take them out. I also hope she discontinues yelling at her employees, especially in front of the customers. If she decides to respond to my email I will post her response. If you do decide to use this company I suggest asking lots of questions, like where will they take you on the tour and ask for tips on how to drive the machine. It can be a lot of fun (especially if they work on making the environment a little more pleasant). read more

The 1-star is for the owner of this snowmobile rental. I have never seen in the US, a recreational business owner being so uninviting. 9 out of 10 ppl who would snow mobile would be first timers. An the objective of the service providers should be to make sure that the customers have a fun experience. But in this case, the owner was shouting at us, even before we could sign up for the tour. She cares so much for the helmets and snow mobiles, that she has forgotten that the customers who come here would give her business and not the mobiles themselves. She should get her act right. From my end I would tell at least 20 people bad things about this business from my experience. As you can tell I wasn't too pleased with my experience with this company. We have been boating for 30 years and kayaking for 10 years (some ocean, some rivers) and generally plan for a day of kayaking anytime we go camping. This year we changed from the Pemi Baker River Adventures to Outback Kayak, mainly because we were looking for something closer to where we were camping. All of the places were booked solid except for Outback Kayak, which should have told me something. The kayaks were pretty beat up, and a few of them leaked pretty badly. All but one kayak (we had 20 people) from this place had duct tape on them! According to the employee, the duct tape was there for reinforcement. Sure it was. The river was quite low, so many of us got stuck several times, especially tandem kayaks with two good sized adults. My wife & I together weigh less than 300 lbs, and even we got stuck twice. It would have been nice for someone to tell us beforehand that the river was quite low. When I mentioned to the guy on the way back that we got stuck several times, his response was that if we didn't know the river, we should have opted for a guide. Given that I was boating while this kid was still pooping in diapers, I felt like punching him in the mouth, but said nothing. Despite having to pay $20 each for transport (some of us had our own kayaks) they were unprepared for transporting 20 people. Apparently none of them realized that 20 kayakers plus an employee along with our gear don't fit well in a 15 passenger van. We had to tell him several times to slow down, as speeding (50-55mph in a 35mph zone) along a curvy road in an overloaded 15 passenger van is asking for something bad to happen. Next year it's back with Earl at Pemi Baker River Adventures. He was a one guy operation plus a driver, but despite moving a little slower (he's not a young guy) he had his act together and it was much better organized. read more

This review is for their ATV rentals. This company was really middle of the road when it comes to ATV rentals. Check-in: The office is about 5 miles from the ATV property and you have to drive between the places. It could be annoying for some, no problem for me. It is usually around $100 for an hour guided trip, I asked them if they had any specials, and they did! This helped out a lot because I do not believe I would have enjoyed it for full sticker. The Equipment: I was put on a smaller 250cc ATV while most others were on a larger 400cc. This ended up being not much of a problem because they do not really let you open up the throttle at all. The helmets were old and beat up (acceptable for the price they were offering). My ATV kept dying on me and I had to pull start it, as these machines do not like to be stopped. The 400CCs were 4-stroke and held up better but they were utility ATVs. The ride: We had a great guide who made sure we were safe and navigated the woods. There is some cool terrain to go over but you never get up to speed. There was one small area where they finally let us loose but it was surrounded by water and not big enough to get any speed. I was disappointed by how slow we really went but figured that could just be me because I have been before and had a blast in a desert. When I asked the others in my group who have never ridden an ATV, they seemed a little restricted too. The land is someone's private property so it is unique, it just isn't set up for any speed. Although well deserved, tips are solicited by signs at the office and on the ATVs, I just found that odd. If this is a new adventure for you, I think you can have a great time, if you are an adrenalin junkie try to find an unguided trip :). read more

This review is for the management running this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone since the management is unreasonable and rude to customers. We never got to experience the 'snow mobile adventure' and had a frustrating time dealing with the organization who refused to issue a refund or even reschedule the activity for which we had paid in full but never participated. Lesson for us: read the fine print of the vouchers/tickets. You're better off visiting nearby places in the Loon Mountain area for snow activities. read more

It wasn't easy scheduling a time - after the buywithme they didn't have enough times available to support all the couponers - all in all I would not recommend to a friend and WOULD NEVER PAY FULL PRICE. After reading all the negative reviews I was weary to book this company with my two boys. I called for pricing and hours and spoke with Kelly. She was friendly, warm and was completely patient with me as I asked 100 questions. We arrived in Lincoln later than expected and I called Kelly to set up a time to ride the ATV's . We already had tickets to another attraction the next day and she was happy to accommodate our available time. We met Madison at the store, where we were greeted by name as she efficiently provided me with our paperwork. Once at the ATV's, Madison thoroughly went through the mechanics, rules and safety precautions of the ATV's. Vincent was our guide, he was wonderful! He was friendly, relaxed and personable. The ATV's were in great condition. The trails were a variety of wooded trails, a few straight aways where you could gain some speed, mud ditches (yes we were dirty!) and some sandy dunes near the lake. Half way through our ride we stopped and chatted. Vincent was interested in our vacation and was happy to take pictures for us. Although our allowed time was an hour, we by far exceeded our time limit! Our ATV ride was the highlight of our busy and fun filled vacation. We can't wait to come back in the winter to ride snowmobiles! *Note, this is the only company that will allow ATV "drivers" without a license. My boys are 12 and 15. It provided them a completely different experience rather than just being a "passenger". Our experience was fantastic!!! Highly recommend! read more

Is no stars an option? Sooooo boring! We never went faster than 10mph. The trails where awesome and the landscape was to die for, but I could have made lunch and served it on the atv. If you go here require a faster private group. Even my fiancé who as never driven an atv before found it dull and painful to go so slow. Forgot to mention she was given a rental that would keep staling out and had accelerator problems, ie a compromised atv. This place really needs options for skill level placement. Or at least if you have a group of different skills brake up the group. Also they say its 1-2 hours but this also includes waiting in parking lot for group to arrive and prep. So your only really looking at 30mins-1.5 hours. To bad this could be a fantastic service if only handled better. If owners desire I will write a process for you to fix this. -Eric read more

The crazy lady, who signed us in when we got to the venue, apparantly had not learnt how to talk to customers, she seem very rude and was so scared that people who were there for the snow mobile adventure will totally ruin her snow mobiles and was just so rude. The two tour guides were very nice......I would give them 5 stars, but to the crazy lady I would just give a zero. And that's why I have the average 3-star rating to the business. Went out riding with these guys twice, one was snowmobile, the other ATV. Had a great time on both occasions. The people are really nice and the experience wasn't rushed; the scenery was beautiful. Actually both times they took me out solo, and on the eve of a holiday. I thought that was really decent and was grateful they hadn't cancelled my tour for it being too small of a group. These guys are fantastic!. Great customer service. Kelley is amazing! We did a snowmobile guided tour this past weekend. Very fun tour. There were 6 of us at various skill levels. They tour guides went out of their way to make sure that everyone had fun. We had a 1-hour tour. At no point did we feel rushed or that we were on a clock. I even like how they stop for picture taking along the way. Plus, they were covid-19 safe. I plan to go back. (Ps. There web site isn't great but don't let that stop you. There is no match for personal, one on one customer service and that is just what Kelly at Outback Kayak served up! We planned a tour for 6 ATV's with one passenger who is on the autism spectrum in November of 2017. Kelly took her time to vet out our 6 year olds sensory dislikes versus needs and made sure the tour they had planned for us would serve all of us. If not, they were willing to make modifications, however it wasn't needed! This kind of flexibility these days is unheard of. Outback Kayak planned the perfect tour with two guides who made sure to check in during the course, engaged with our 6 year old to make sure he was getting the most out of the experience and everyone else in our party! It was a fantastic afternoon with Kelly and Bri as our guides. Thank you for putting the customer first in service! I recommend Outback Kayak for adventure and fun wrapped into one! It was our first time snowmobiling and I just wanna say that our guide (Jason?) and his assistant were both very attentive and patient, so this one star review doesn't pertain to them. I hit a bump and went off the trail and hit a tree. The owner saw this, came over and instead of asking if I was ok, started yelling at me. I stressed that I didn't do it on purpose but she wasn't listening and told me to pay attention. I guess she was more worried about her precious snowmobile than a possible lawsuit. For a second there, I thought I had enlisted in military training. I guess she expects all first timers to be professionals. She might own the business, but she sure did not know how to run it or treat customers right. I had fun throughout the day until she ruined it for me. read more

I wish I had an opportunity to review that actual ATV tours or Snowmobile tours. I never got to that point. No one was rude, I never actually got to talk to anyone. So my son and I would like to do a father son trip, ride an ATV have a day. I find this place on the web, looks reasonable I send an email with some questions. Short one word answers. I figure Ok lets set something up. I email again "How do I arrange for a tour" the email goes un answered. I email a second time, then a third then I get a reply "Im in the office today". I call, no answer. I call the next day leave a message to have someone call, saying clearly "I want to arrange a tour for my son and I". Im thinking at this point they will call, its a sale, why wouldnt they.... Guess what, no call. So few days later I call again leave a similar message. At this point its clear to me there is a deficency somewhere, someone is either off thier game, something is wrong etc. You know life isnt perfect, but hey 3 emails, 3 calls, 2 voice mails I figure at this point someone there would want my money. No call back, I try and call again the phone number is disconnected. Might be a lovely place with exceptional guides and stellar tours couldnt tell you. I can tell you that if you want to book a tour with them prepare to waste your time. If thats good for you, hey why not should only take you 5-7 emails and calls. For any of you reading this who might want to start a business, im going to give you some free financials advice. When someone wants to purchase your service, make it as easy as possible for them to do so. read more

The guide, Peter, was superb. I went alone ( I,m an over 50 single woman) and he had the perfect mix of being pleasantly conversational to letting me just relish the peaceful, quiet, pristine Pemigewassett river. A very gentle sweet soul who knows the river and truly cares about giving you a safe yet very fun trip. The owner went out of her way to ensure complete satisfaction and Deb at the store was lovely too. So don't judge by the old review. I bought a LivingSocial coupon and after trying to book an ATV Tour for THREE weeks, I am finally giving up. I called at least six times, left three voicemails and a few emails here or there. In all, I received one email response from Deb about pricing, but then nothing after I stated I already paid through Living Social. I was really excited about this experience, but after reading all the other Yelp reviews, it seems my experience is the same as everybody elses with this company. Purchased 4 Groupons for 1/2 hour ATV tours. Called 5 different times each time getting the answering machine and left 3 messages providing phone number and explaining that I would like to make a reservation to use the groupon and also sent an e-mail and received no response from business. When up in the area, visited location which had an open sign but locked doors and nobody around. Called number posted outside facility and was lectured on why I would be "strongly advised" to be tested for COVID-19 prior to booking a reservation. Was told out of the 100s of people who have called, none of them have been tested for COVID-19. When asked when we could try to reserve a tour, I was told " I will have to check with my crew to see when they are willing to go out." I was also asked for credit card and groupon information prior to being given information on what dates/times would be available. If you don't want to do business, you should just remain closed. No customer service whatsoever! read more

We started coming here for ATVs about four years ago. Last year was just "ok", the kid that took us out was not that into it but it was a tradition so we stopped by this year. They did not answer the phone so we drove by to see if they had closed there was a number on the door and we tried it but did not hear back. I tried again and they called back but we were already out for the day and didn't connect. We drove by and saw they were open and stopped in. They girl at the desk said they had an opening in two days and took our number to call me back. We did not get a call. I called the day before we were supposed to go out and did not hear back. The day after I got a call from their number but decided not to bother as we had made other plans. This ends a 4 year tradition which is too bad but we will not be back. read more

My family and I decided to do the ATV tour with them. We were given directions on how to operate the vehicle. But as soon as we started the tour there was an icy terrain. My vehicle slipped and my sister who was following me applied brakes and collided on the side of my vehicle. The female tour guide asked us to discontinue our tour instead of ensuring our safety . She was too rude. After making a phone call with her mom we continued the tour. My front tires kept getting stuck and as a result of that my ATV got stuck multiple times. I do understand there are mechanical failures sometimes but the tour guide wasn't very friendly. She was only worried about the damages on the vehicle. I did pay for the damages but wasn't satisfied with the service I was given. I did give them some suggestions, and I don't think she seemed to have taken those positively. In her defense, she said she's been doing the ATVs since childhood and never thought it's unsafe. The other guide (Koby) was good though. I will not recommend anyone going on this tour. They have no clue what they are doing. If anything goes wrong I'm afraid they won't be able to help you. read more

We went on a kayak tour today and it really was fantastic. I was extremely surprised by the reviews, they must be working hard towards improvement because the new gear works great, and the guides were awesome. Water was a bit high but I could tell the guides really knew what they were doing so we could stay safe and have tons of fun. They were well organized getting us to and from our cars. Summary: Rude staff, stinky helmets, horrible customer service - DON'T GO. You are likely to be a passenger or carry one for your entire ride: We had a group of 8 people, we've made a reservation in advance. When we showed up - we were told that one ATV broke down and somebody will have to "double up" - (i.e. ride on a back as a passenger) until they bring down another ATV - they never did. There were 2 guides and only one guide had an ATV for herself, the other guide "doubled up" with yet another person from our group - I guess it is somehow our problem that they don't have working equipment even for their own staff. Riding with a passenger on an ATV is definitely A LOT LESS FUN than riding by yourself. You constantly think about other person's safety, you tend to drive slower, it basically ruins everything. Had we been told that we will have to "double up" - we would not have bought this service. Once the tour was over, we asked for a refund for those people who had to carry a passenger or be one, as this was clearly not what we paid $99 for. We were only offered one refund and were accused of attempting a "theft of services" should we dispute our transactions through the credit card company. We even wanted to see if there is any kind of fine print on the waiver that we've signed, to make sure that we are not being unreasonable. When we asked for a copy of the waivers, which had our personal information and credit card numbers on, we were DENIED. This was very suspicious. If my credit card gets stolen - I will report this business to authorities. I advise you to do the same. Equipment was dirty, helmets were stinky, ride was boring: Your ride begins literally on the side of the highway. There is no parking lot, there are no facilities. You leave your car there, hoping to find it there when you come back. Nobody disinfects the helmets between the rides. Helmets smell like feet, and you have to wear them on your head. I hope that none of us got lice. Both guides were extremely rude. They didn't shy away from screaming at people to bring their attention to safety, instead of calmly and professionally communicating their requests. Ride was and VERY BORING. You essentially drive a clunky ATV around a small patch of forest in all possible directions. It felt like going for a walk in a living room. It was also very slow. I ride faster on my mountain bike. DON'T BUY THEIR INSURANCE: They also tried to sell us the most useless and expensive insurance ever, which wouldn't even cover YOU if you got hurt. Conclusion: This business doesn't care about your safety - if they did - they would offer you an insurance policy that actually covers you. This business doesn't care if you get lice - they would sanitize their equipment like F1boston does. This business will violate your rights as a consumer by denying you access to your own personal and financial information. This business will waste your time. read more

We had a great experience with our kayaking trip. We bought a living social coupon on a whim. There was so much rain in the days leading up to our trip and Outback called us before we left home to let us know the river levels were good. We kayaked with two experienced guides and had a great time on a fast moving river. We also got a bonus four wheel adventure which was an unexpected bonus. read more
