I took my grandchildren on the Sophie C, as we work at Sandy Island, one of the stops and both kids have met the mailboat with our mail pouch, and exchanged it for incoming mail. Everyone on board was sweet to us, letting us take pictures with them, and greeting them warmly. They even mentioned them in their announcements as they talk about the islands and the upcoming stops. Nice slow cruise around part of the Lake. Hearing how the islands got their name, seeing Mt Washington, relaxing enjoying the sun and beautiful weather. Going during the week sure beats the weekend crowds. Wiers is getting ready for Bike Week so handicap parking is at a premium, keep your placard visible. Staff was approachable, polite, almost everyone had a smile. Take the tour, enjoy the scenery, listen to the stories, sit back relax and have a drink/food, have a good time. read more

Let me start with, this might be a one off. Who knows how their other cruises go? It seemed the majority of the staff we interacted with were from Romania and were extremely friendly and positive. They actually were the highlight of the cruise! We were probably all in $270 for the entire experience. We drove an hour from Ossipee for this cruise. Regrettably, I can say I would never do it again. I will take that money and drive the hour and a half to the Capital Grille in Salem, New Hampshire! On the outset, this looked like a good way to spend our 21st wedding anniversary. Normally we love dinner cruises! This one left a sour taste in our mouths. Be warned, no air-conditioning. Be warned, though it is a buffet it was extremely limited. For some reason, I had an expectation of a green salad, maybe a slaw, a couple choices of meats, a couple choices of vegetables, and maybe a starch or two. This was not. This was a wait in line with your plate for bread rolls, two different types of apple salad, dried out Restaurant pack turkey breast, a bucket of gravy, dried out roasted vegetable raviolis, dressing, and sautéd green beans. The green beans were delicious. As long as you had gravy, the turkey wasn't too bad. I guess we were lucky that they had gravy when we went through as that seemed to be a major complaint later on. Apparently they ran out and many did not get any. BTW, we paid $10 extra per person to go through that buffet early and get a watered down warm gin drink as an arrival cocktail. There's no table service in the dining room! If you want anything to drink, you must go to the bar. There seemed to be coffee and water gratis. You have no idea what they have at the bar as there is no bar menus on the tables! I had to take a picture and text it to my wife so she could make a decision on what she wanted. And it was hot! Did I mention that there's no air-conditioning? That was rhetorical as I know I did. I was actually over this experience 10 minutes into it but it was too late to escape. I have zero recollection of any safety brief as to where the life vests were or any abandoned ship stations were! Not sure if that's a requirement here in New Hampshire, but it is almost everywhere I've ever been. I will reiterate the fact that the Romanian workers were great! I will reiterate that it was very warm with no air-conditioning. Again, if you want a great experience, take your money and time and go to Capital Grille! My wife and I have chalked this up as an experience. read more

The Mt Washington Sunset Dinner Cruise was a huge disappointment. We were a party of 5 and I paid a fortune for the worst food I've ever had. Not exaggerating- revolting slop. Soggy rolls, dry tasteless fish, vegetables so overcooked the fell apart when you forked them, some chicken was the only edible thing. Dessert was labeled as crème brûlée but was a disgusting mousse thing that tasted of artificial flavors. Truly angry with the quality of this dinner for $75/per person. Having said that, I wish we had done only a lake cruise and not the dinner cruise, it would have been a much better experience. Do not waste your money on the dinner cruise. read more

I love the open concept they have with three levels to explore. We enjoyed drinks and the fresh air while learning about the history of the lake. We took the Fourth of July dinnerr cruise last week and the food I would rate less than one. It was terrible very few selection. The corn was not done. The chicken was bland. As was the vegetarian rice and the desserts were something you would get at a subpar grocery store There weren't very many choices. They served water for free, but the drinks were extremely expensive $15 for a small glass of wine in a plastic cup and even getting something like a soda was not included in the price of the dinner. I The sound system wasn't very good so you could not hear the captain explain anything about the lake as you travel going to the fireworks display. Amazing day on board the Mount Washington cruise ship! We thoroughly enjoyed live music, drinks, snacks, and seeing the gorgeous island views on lake Winnipesaukee! We took our daughter to celebrate her 45th birthday (along with our three young granddaughters and our son-in-law). A fantastic family day for sure! The captain even took our girls and a few other children into see the ship's wheel (their dad snapped a pic). Every staff member was super nice. They honestly couldn't have been more pleasant. Attended the Murder Mystery Buffet Dinner Cruise on August 13th. The buffet was out of chicken and pulled pork when we got to the food. Now keep in mind this was all you cared to enjoy buffet. Yet they were out of the main course before people had their first turn. Dole whip and pineapple upside down cake were good. Rice was very bland. When I asked about them putting out more chicken and pulled pork I was informed there wasn't anymore but was shown a pan of vegetarian beans of some sort that was less than appetizing. Dinner rolls were the best thing about the dinner. Website for the cruise states the buffet starts once you board. We boarded at 5:30pm and they didn't open buffet till 6:30pm. Let's not forget the company who was presenting the Murder Mystery Cruise went to the buffet and got their food way before they announced the buffet was open. Once they announced the bar...yes 1 bar was open it had 1 Bartender. Eventually they added another cashier. Drink prices were what I expected. But long lines and long wait. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Purchased souvenir photo and she did offer to keep taking pictures until I liked one. She did great. You have the option of purchasing a souvenir cup....expensive but it's not forced on you. We were told we purchase it then before the end of cruise bring the dirty one back and they would rinse it and wrap it. Sounds awesome. We brought the one we used up to the bar, she rinses it out hands it back and then moves on to next person. Ok weird. Not what we were told was going to happen but whatever. We dock and start to unboard they stop us on the ramp to dunk the glass in a bucket of water and then proceeded to wrap it up all while people behind us are being help up because we weren't allowed off the ramp. Suggestion, if they are going to wait until the very end to wash and wrap glasses let people off the ramp, have them step aside so those that do not have a souvenir glass may go about their business. Better yet let passengers get them wrapped while on the cruise. Was definitely beyond disappointed in the amount of money spent on the buffet. Wanted to do a sunset dinner cruise but after this extremely disappointing cruise I will not being booking it on the Mount Washington. Also it would have been cute to offer lei's to match the theme. Could have had them on the tables. Overall might book a scenic cruise but absolutely not one that involves food. Not worth the money. read more

What a beautiful, relaxing cruise on Lake Winnepesaukee. There is a great view no matter where you sit. Plenty of seats with tables, and seating in the shade. We took the 2 1/2 hour narrated scenic tour from Weirs Beach to Wolfeboro and back. I suggest taking the 10:00 launch time, then get off at Wolfeboro have lunch, do so site seeing, and take the next boat back. On the boat there is a full bar and depending on what cruise you take the on board restaurant serves lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch. read more

We went on this cruise on the morning of July 4 before attending a wedding in the afternoon. It was extremely hot and humid on land, but comfortable with a breeze under the open but covered top deck. The cruise itself was relaxing and interesting, showing the lake to full advantage with infrequent but interesting narrative information offered over the ship's speakers. We did not get off in Wolfeboro but would have been happy to do so if we'd had more time. All staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. Our family agreed it was a lovely trip and offered a wonderful break from the heat and busyness of everything going on in town over the holiday weekend. Would definitely recommend. read more

we have been attending this event for 4 years and always had a great time. no issues until this year. I have to say someone was obviously on a "power trip." I was at the bar getting a drink and the Captain walked behind the bar and told the couple next to me the man was cut off. he tried to ask why.. my opinion he seemed fine..and the captain said "because i said so" I was floored.. then he said to the couple "move aside your holding up the line". disgusting. I go back to my table and start hearing how a few others were also "cut off". this was a function we all paid to go on and paid for the drinks. I was looking forward to a narrated tour, but the narration was inaudible to everyone on the top deck. The tour ended at 2:30 rather than 3 and the boat we took had tables and function hall style chairs, which are not too comfy for a leisure cruise. We enjoyed the well organized boarding process. Our window seat provided cooling breezes on a hot day. Sitting at table 2 next to the stage provided air from the deck to further cool us down. The buffet food was tasty and had a good assortment of foods, including dessert. Walking around on the decks provided beautiful views, and the sunset was gorgeous. Our private bus tour booked us for a one-hour lunch cruise. The cruise was nice but largely unremarkable. It would be interesting for folks that haven't spent much time on the water. After a week of buffet food at every stop all week--and reading others' reviews, I had pretty low expectations but I will give credit where credit is due; the buffet was actually not bad! My only real complaints follow and all pertain to the unmet needs of elderly and physically challenged folks. On board, guests have to be able to use stairs to access the open balcony, so they will miss that particular experience and view. The check-in and preboarding process is brutal. Lots of hurry up-and-wait on uneven boardwalk and slanted gang planks that can be uncomfortable underfoot and even dangerous for anyone with balance issues, limited stamina, back problems, canes, etc. The handful of benches near the venue fill quickly. The handicap restroom on the boardwalk is kept locked, and there is no signage to inform the unwitting visitor that they'll need to get a key from the ticket desk. Dock helper "Shep" completely dismissed the gentle suggestion that they put a simple sign on the door and made it clear he was not interested in public feedback. read more

Sunset dinner cruise., Sunday night. No real directions to take part in the buffet upon entering the ship. No one cleared our plates; we removed them to the trash area. The beef was dried out and whatever liquid was on didn't help. Some sort of BBQ, it was tagged. Lemon Haddock was the alternative. Not much of a variety. Watermelon and over sugared chocolate chip cookies. Kind of pricey for the selection. The band was okay until the end of the night, then they just played load and fast. The Heineken school of dance kicked in and the floor was filled. Did not know people could jump for 20 minutes. Would not do this again. Have been on other such cruises in different states, food was better, staff was more on the ball. read more

Hello, We attended the August 16, 2025 sunset dinner cruise. We enjoyed the cruise and the buffet food was outstanding. The only negative feedback I have is the following. We were located on deck one, during the cruise. The live band that was playing on the deck, very very loud in our group's opinion, along with many other people that were on board. I myself along with at least two other people asked the band members if they could possibly turn down the height of the volume just a little bit as it was so loud you couldn't even talk to a person in the room that was sitting next to you. The person told me rudely that we just need to move to another level on the ship or move back to the rear of the ship, that they were not going to lower the level. Very unprofessional and rude in my opinion. I do not understand why this music, along with many others need to play the music so so loud! Most likely we will not cruise on the ship again with a live band. thanks read more

Our "previous" cruises experiences have been great! Our recent saturday cruise was very disappointing- The meal was just mediocre- not great- The deserts were equal to a grocery store party plates. ( dried out) We paid the extra for window seats and the windows were dirty and there were spiders hanging all over the outside windows.
