It's the perfect spot not just for a boat launch but a nice quiet picnic or a break from a cycle ride on a road made up of 50% hills (VA doesn't have hills). The small park has a booth but also a ticket machine for admission. There is a gradual hill down into the area and it is comprised of dirt and rocks. Parking for vehicles with boats. A dock is located on one side of the park. Restrooms are also on one side. There are picnic tables and grills sprinkled around the small area but with plenty of space in between the areas to keep some privacy. A swingset in the middle of the park. This is not a big park it is for dock launch but it's a nice little spot and probably more reasonably affordable then other areas.

What an amazing vacation we had on the Canandaigua ! The boat seems a bit large on their web page,…read morebut it turns out it was perfectly sized for three , and easy enough to pilot and park. It had all the comforts of a small floating hotel room. A Full kitchen , comfortable beds, air conditioning , sheets, linens, towels, pots and pans, silverware and to top it all off, a bicycle for each of us. Erie Canal Adventures has thought of everything. Their three hour training was thorough and easy to understand, and included practice time on the canal and negotiating lock 30 twice. All their employees are patient and helpful as were all the other boaters we encountered. On several occasions we experienced a little difficulty with the docking process and each time other boaters were there to assist. There are many towns along the canal, most of which offer dock space and electrical and water hookups, sometimes for a small fee, but often for free. The boats motor along at a stately 6 mph, which might seem slow in 2025, but it's precisely the right pace on the canal. Even on the hottest days 6 mph was fast enough that there was always a cooling breeze. I can't recommended this vacation highly enough. I'd like to say that it was the vacation of a lifetime, but I strongly suspect I'll be back next year.

Letchworth Whitewater Rapids: So much fun! $45 a person (over the age of 8). My family went and it…read morewas a ton of fun for a 6 year old, teenagers and adults. We went the day after it rained and the river was moving! Our guide said that they are class 1 (and sometimes class 2) rapids. You will stop in Wolf's Cove/Creek (?) and can slide down a natural waterslide and/or go under a waterfall (it was too strong to do this during our trip). Get there 30 minutes early to get your rain jacket (if needed), life vest and helmet on. There is a 30 minute bus ride to get to the other side of the river. Tips: - wear water friendly shoes & clothes (workout type of outfit was perfect) - wear sunscreen - take off any valuables before going (they won't keep anything except your car keys for you) - go to the bathroom at the office (there is a porte-potty where the bus drops you off at the start of the rapids)

When we got to the boat launch I was happy to see that they had the same boat that I had, in a newer model. Basically, this means that they don't rent you the very cheapest base model kayak, you'll be in a boat you may actually really enjoy and be comfortable in. When we called to reserve John, the owner, offered the option of a sit-on-top (open boat) which I declined. If you like those, they had very nice ones as well. This can be a good option for first timers because they are a little wider and less likely to tip. They also have Stand-up paddle boards and tandem kayaks for rent for the brave. The price was super reasonable for two hours, and there is a Group-on for a 4 hour rental at the two hour price. Next time I may bring a picnic and do the 4 hour option. Canadice Lake is an unbeatable kayak location, it's the water supply for Rochester, so there are no houses on the lake side and basically no motor boats. When you hit the water you'll find yourself able to enjoy quite reflection. This is truly a kayakers paradise and if you don't have kayaks this is the best place to rent. John was awesome, and super accommodating. He told us about upcoming events and was super easy going. I will absolutely be back here to rent again. Pro-tip- if you want to set up a super impressive date, you can take someone for a kayak rental, pack a picnic and have a nice quiet day.

The Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge was closed so there was no opportunity to cross the harbor on foot or by vehicle without driving all the way around the harbor. So that's a downer. Twas the first time all of us were home together since before Covid. My dad passed a few years ago and we all couldn't be home for it bc it was during Covid. So this was actually the first time all 5 of us kids were home at the same time. It's a trip that had to happen for sure. So getting the boat for an afternoon was super nice and a special day for sure. We got a pontoon boat for the afternoon. My brother and his wife rented it for 6 hours. I can't remember the exact price, I wanna say $450 for the6 hours, but don't quote me on that bc I THINK it may have been a tad more expensive. It's definitely a little pricey, but compared to their competitors, German Brothers definitely had the better price. The so-called "inconvenience" of renting from the vs the other(s) is German Bros is located out on West Lake Rd as the other is located in town...which is why I think they can get away with charging more at that place. The guys at German Bros were fantastic. Super friendly, super helpful...honestly don't have one bad thing to say about them or the business. For my first time experiencing one of these boat rental companies back home, I was definitely satisfied and even from my social media posts from that day and the days after our day on the lake, I referred like 5 people to this place and told them how much better it would be to go with them especially if they were worried about cost. You definitely save using German Brothers and these days, who isn't trying to save money any way they can? One thing to point out, you do have to pay for the gas for the boat and that cost is not included in the rental cost. You pay for the gas at the end of your time on the boat and I wanna say it's like a dollar and change more than what we'd pay at the pump ourselves. Then again, wait, haha, not sure what kind of gas these boats use haha! Just know tho, you pay separate for the gas. I recommended this to 5 different people (as mentioned already) and I'd gladly recommend to 5 more, 10 more, etc. They're a fantastic company and they deserve all the business they can get. If I were asked to write a review regarding Mark's months ago, the outcome would be completely…read moredifferent. I believe in recognition when it is earned, and that is why I am here today. I Purchased my new boat from Marks last year, and upon delivery had some issues with the boat. My first instinct was to call my salesman and get some guidance from him to my next step. My salesperson would not take my calls and never returned any of my phone calls. That was strike #1. I got a bit of a run around from Zach in service and took weeks to get any phone call back from him. At this point I figured this was just how Mark's conducted business as a company. Recently I reluctantly called their service department with a question about a small part that I needed, figuring that I would get the blow off yet again. When Stephanie in service answered I explained what I needed and about my previous unsolved issues. She not only got me what I needed for the part, but handled my previous issue and has been in contact with me every step of the way! She took my issue and followed it through until the end.....exactly how business is supposed work. Mark's Leisure Time........I suggest you keep Stephanie on your team any way possible, because from what I have seen, she is your largest asset. Thank you Stephanie for the way YOU treat people.
