We visit Longview at least once a year to visit family, and always make it a point to come to Silver Grizzly. Their space is big and welcoming.... Perfect to work or meet a friend or two to catch up. Their coffee is delicious. I really enjoyed the maple bourbon latte. They also have some delicious quiches available to eat. We enjoyed the spinach and mushroom. Found ourselves here on a beyond hot day yesterday, when we were just passing through Tyler/Longview...and it was the highlight of our trip! The space is incredible - open/airy/variety of seating options, the staff are enthusiastic about what they do/are very sweet, but even more importantly the coffee is amazing! A lovely local stop for your morning pick me up. With three of us, we sampled four of their offerings and were all pleased. DH had a pastry that was delightful- a flaky & crispy croissant style cinnamon roll. The baristas were very friendly & welcoming. This was one of my first experiences with a truly third wave coffee shop, and to this day I remember what it was like drinking this coffee. Whether it's by a smile or words, the staff immediately acknowledges your presence. Although they seem to have a steady crowd in the morning, they still take time with every guest. They listen to your order to ensure accuracy! The two gentlemen, I've come in contact with are fabulous. Of course I ordered a latte and it was made to perfection. Great espresso and coffee here. The odd thing about this place is their room rental thing, where they rent out one of the rooms for private events. On three recent visits, they posted "Reserved" signs on the room at ten minutes before the "reserved" time was to begin, eight minutes beforehand, and four minutes beforehand. Each time, they then asked every paying guest in the room to vacate before the reserved time began. Out of curiosity, I asked if one of these rentals was arranged last minute. I was told that it was reserved several months ago. Other than this odd room rental thing where they ask everyone in the room to vacate, it's otherwise a great coffee shop! read more
