If you'd have a plumbing problem in SB, you know it can be difficult to find a good and responsive…read moreplumber. That was not our experience with Anacapa Plumbing when we needed to replace our two 15 year old "on-demand" water heaters. Anacapa was immediately responsive, pleasant to deal with, and quickly gave us an acceptable quote. Then, after ordering the units (which took a few days understandably) , they did a great job installing them in less than a day. We can't talk about pricing because we were so frustrated by other contractors not even returning our calls and by the one who ripped us off (Goodland Plumbing by demanding a $150 up front payment for a quote and then never getting back to us with a quote), in the end, we were not in a position to seek out competitive pricing - tired of cold showers. Now, everything is working well - Anacapa was very professional, with friendly informative plumbers, who did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. We definitely recommend them.

Repaired sewer lateral in single residential, scoped before/after, installed a clean out, hydrojetted, hot water heater replacement, and a couple days labor. After having 4 different plumbers bid the job, Ian from Drain Masters was the best for me. What I…read morevalued most was his communication and his timeliness. I was not physically at the address where the plumbing issue was but Ian was in contact with me almost daily, would answer any questions I had quickly, sent me photos, was there when he said he would be and got the job done on time. I received bids at a lower price but I was also chasing after those plumbers (for days) to get the bid in writing, had to ask the same question multiple times to get an answer and 2 of them were over 30 minutes late to bid the job. I realized that if it was this difficult and the job hadn't even yet begun, the lower price wasn't worth it for me. Ian provided me with peace of mind and that truly made such a difference to me. I highly recommend Ian from Drain Masters.

They said "the boss will call you later". They finish the job, and a week later we receive a bill for over $2000! Obviously illegal, but it sounds like a pattern of theirs. Not a review of service - as the service never happened…read more This is a review of poor communication. Scheduled a water heater repair through a home warranty policy. Contacted me and asked for all the info he would need to diagnose the problem. I sent that. The day came. He never showed up, never sent an email or a text. I sent a text at 8PM. He apologized - had an emergency and forgot about me (self-admitted). We rescheduled for a future date. I needed AM. He wanted to do 3-4. I asked when we could do AM appointment. We agreed upon time and day. That morning I get an email confirming 4PM appointment. I called and Dio says he thought it was 4PM. He was willing to send someone out right away, but after all that I canceled the appointment and did not reschedule. He may be very good at repairs and plumbing work, but the communication and appointment organization needs work.

He spent 5 minutes looking at the old units and then said he was done and he wanted the $150 check which they required for a quote visit. We never got a quote. After waiting about 5 weeks and hiring another good contractor who did a great job, I contacted the original person I spoke to at Goodland via phone text and said that we should get our $150 back. She texted back and agreed and explained that she was swamped with work and it was her fault that we never got a quote. She promised to return our money. Now, 3 weeks later, after several follow-up texts from me, Goodland has ghosted us. I will file complaint with the State Contractor's Licensing Board and possibly take legal action; But, I am guessing that the Contractor Licensing Board has bigger issues to deal with than me being ripped off for $150. Beware of Goodland Plumbing and their demand for $150 in order to give you a "quote" for plumbing work.
