The food is decent, when it's correct, but the service is the absolute worst. Managers apparently don't know how to get servers to do their job. I've had my meal comped at least 50% of the time (no joke). I really wish they'd just fire all the dead weight and hire some people that actually did their job. During my next meeting with Bishop Walker I brought my wife and he was even able to gain her trust and eventually he gave us a few things to do which ultimately led us to work out our problems and stay together. We had also been unable to have a child together but he spoke over our marriage and told us that one day we would have a child. Not only did Bishop Walker help to restore my marriage but he also restored my faith in Pastors and Church. He was a real example of what a man of God is supposed to be. It hasn't been easy but my wife and I have celebrated four years of marriage on November 2015 and God even blessed us with a beautiful baby boy on June 2015. We named him Matthias, which means "God's gift". We are extremely thankful that God led us to Bishop Walker (Heritage Church International Waldorf MD) and for the counsel that he gave to us. Visited the area for a friend's wedding, sat at the counter and was served by Ashley. Had the philly steak omelette (added mushrooms) with homefries and a biscuit. The omelette came out bigger than expected, but the key was the random sauce that was with it. It turned out to be their Cherry Pepper Sauce and it was incredible!!! The cleanest restaurant I have ever been in. My son got the banana French toast and it was yummy. My husband and I split the country scramble. I'm glad we did, that was a lot of food. First time at this diner and it was pleasant! Had a great meal and experience. The booths are set up with individual mini jute boxes that work so you and your honey can listen to music while you eat! The food here is usually on point, I wanted to start by stating that as I am a fair person, however, it is just not possible for me to give a high rating to a place with such horrific service. I was out running some last minute Christmas errands and had a taste for breakfast/brunch. I walk in and head straight for the bar seating since it was just me. This is where it all went downhill. I kid you not, I sat there for 15 minutes before anyone even thought to ask me if I was ok, if I wanted something to drink or heavens forbid, if I wanted to order food, ya know, seeing as how I was in a diner and all :( I honestly couldn't believe it as I sat there and watched their staff walk past me 1 by 1 , I truly started to think that maybe I was invisible until finally a guy who I believe was a bus boy, not even a waiter, looked at me and thought "hey, maybe she wants to order something". I wish I knew his name to at least give him credit for that much. He got the attention of the young lady that was supposed to be taking care of me and I sat there and overheard her put up a fight of sorts because I guess my seat at the end of the section was supposed to be assigned to someone else. She was also the main waitress who kept walking past me like I wasn't there. Here's my thing, I've never been a waitress, but knowing how to extend courteous service to a human being, even if I'm not in your so called section, if you see me sitting there and you see that no one has offered to help me, just being thoughtful, don't you simply ask if I need anything? or wouldn't you at least tell me " hey someone will be right with you". She finally comes over and very dryly takes my order and of course the experience continues to go downhill. It takes my food at least 30 minutes to be placed in front of me, all I'm thinking while sitting there is "is this really happening ?" And trust me, I would have gotten up and left but at this point I was committed and hungry. I watched my star waitress intently and she NEVER in that 30 minutes stopped to even check on me, ask me if I wanted more coffee and more importantly, it never dawned on her that my food was taking an unusually long time. Again, what an employee of the month she is. It was actually a different waitress who once again noticed no one was attending to me that came over and asked me what I ordered and then proceeded to check on my food. Of course then my star waitress comes swooping in to retrieve my order. I'm thinking "girl don't even bother". It gets worse, as if that's possible. I start chatting with a very nice lady sitting next to me who tells me that her experience had also been horrible and she was also pretty thrown off by the whole thing. She couldn't even get anyone to bring her her check! Finally the manager comes to clear her dishes away, the same guy who'd also been walking past me like I wasn't there and he decides to ask her how everything was. She responds by letting him know that no, things hadn't been good and he then begins tripping over himself to apologize and offers her a coupon to return in the future for a free meal. I swear I just knew he was going to correct things with me next, but nope! And he even heard me and the woman talking about how bad my whole experience had been...... He kept ignoring me, lol! To make it worse, I guess he gives it some more thought and returns to inform her that because he feels terrible that she wasn't 100% happy with her service, he was going to comp her meal! This was great news for her as I still sat there wondering what would be offered to me, of course nothing was. At this point it was starting to feel like a dream, and I can't recall a dining experience in recent times that was this awful. I think it goes without saying that I will NEVER eat here again and will advise everyone I know not to as well. Firstly, the food has always been delicious, i want to put that out front before I go into what sucks about this place. The problem is with its severely inexperienced waitstaff, the ridiculously high prices, and the fact that complaints are not handled well. I came in for lunch with some girlfriends today, ordered a burger and a Diet Coke, $22. No joke. After inspecting the ticket, I found that I was charged 99¢ for every topping I ordered. When I asked the waitress about it she had no idea how to handle the situation, she was incredibly meek and difficult to understand. My husband and I went to Silver Diner on Waldorf for dinner tonight around 10pm. We were seated by the booth and everything seemed to go well. A young waiter asked what we want to order to drink we told him 2 waters, which we received. I needed a few minutes to order so the waiter said he will come back in 2 minutes. I finally made my decision and we waited for the waiter to come back. After passing by our table 6 times, and I am sure he saw us waiting and ready to order, he kept on ignoring us. We already knew he wasn't getting a tip. 20 minutes pass and my husband and I were already losing patiance. Finally, we get up and start leaving. We had enough. the waiter saw us leaving and he had a shocked look on his face. Thats what happens when you ignore your customers. read more

I have seen a handful of negative reviews for this place, and I still can't understand why. I've been coming here for a little over a year and have a great experience every time. I have had multiple dates here and brought friends, and they loved it as well. I always get great service, and great food. There was only one time that the food arrived very late, and I received coupons for the next time I came in to make up for it. When I tell people I went out to breakfast by myself, my friends always ask "Silver Diner?" Because they know it's my favorite. Would obviously definitely recommend. Also just a side note, I think this may be the first time I have ever reviewed a restaurant, if that says anything. I want to give Silver Diner the credit I feel like they deserve. read more

We have been three times since they opened here in Waldorf. Each time we have been served promptly, and the food has been excellent. It was an enjoyable 'diner' experience from the music in the parking lot to the milkshakes and 25 cent jukeboxes at each table. The parking lot was packed for a Wednesday night but there was no wait. Aaliyah was our waitresses. Service was fast and friendly. She checked on us several times, kept our drink glass full, never had to wait for anything. Food was fairly priced. Didn't see anything over $16.99. The Flat Iron steak was juicy and fairly tender, topped blue cheese, giving it a nice touch; cooked the way I requested it. The pot roast was VERY tender and tasty. Overall, the food quality was very good for the price. They have something for the vegetarians and calorie counters and for he hearty meat and dessert lovers too. They serve alcohol and use local farms. The only complaint was the table could have been cleaned better before we sat down and food was stuck on the back side of the salad bowl. All those are easy fixes for the young staff working in a hurry. Will definitely go back. read more

When first coming in the place is extremely loud. The waitress was nice. When finally ordered a expensive sandwich, they forgot to bring out the coleslaw. And the fries were cold and the bread was hard. Not to mention the size of this high dollar only half sandwich. It was very unreasonable. Then asked for pie for dessert. And that took forever, ended up just telling them to forget it. Already had been there over an hour. And all I got was a sandwich. You would think they would of just given the pie on the house. We liked lunch so much , we decided to take our team to the diner for a combination lunch/happy hour on a Friday in September. I am happy they opened in Waldorf ! Exterior shiny, interior nice, like a classic 50s diner... Lots of people, very loud, don't even try and listen to the little jukebox on the booth tables. Sat right away, however took 10 minutes for a waiter to finally introduce himself. Ordered drinks and entrees right away. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, entrees took another 10. So almost 30 minutes to start eating...(was very crowded) Waiter didn't ask how I wished my steak cooked so I assumed it came as in the picture on menu (med. rare). It came well done, dry, tough and rather tasteless. The meat comes with a giant scoop of garlic garlic butter on top (I'm guessing to mask the lack of flavor in the "flat iron steak". The waiter forgot my crab and corn chowder and even charged me for a seperate bowl. I had to ask for it and ask for it to b taken off my bill... There was garlic slathered on everything, a classic way to hide rather bland food in the restaurant business. I don't mind some garlic, but this was over the top... My wife enjoyed her huevos rancheros....average at best, she makes much better at home...she did like the texture of the chips... Our check got fumbled up with a wrong charge and to top it off...when we got up to leave....we discovered pieces of someone's chicken meal under our feet and lining the base of our booth, even in the walkway... My wife and I are world travelers, and we don't want to judge too hard....but for the high price they charge....they need to do a hell of a lot better than they do to get my return business... I love Silver Diner, and seeing as though my boyfriend had never been before we decided to head in recently. This was our first time at the Waldorf location, as we both live in Northern VA, and the experience was extremely uncomfortable because of the poor service. Our server was uninterested and gave off the vibe the entire visit that she wanted us out as soon as possible. Mind you, we went in around 7pm, no where near their closing time, and they weren't busy in the least bit. She was extremely unfriendly and made us both feel unwelcome and rushed. The worst part was at the end after she's swiped our cards. She puts the receipts down at the table and leans over us, inches away from my face, as I'm filling out the tip and total section. I sat there, pen in hand, made eye contact with her, eye contact with my boyfriend, and back down at the receipt. She stood there, leaned over us staring at the receipts the entire time. I felt so awkward and uncomfortable. After seeing I left a 30% tip, which I consider a great tip, she makes a loud disgusted groan/sigh, dramatically rolls her eyes and storms off. No thanks, no have a good night. Just glares at us as we leave the restaurant. I have never been treated that way by a server in my life, or been made to feel so uncomfortable at a restaurant. Let me start off by saying the food here is great. No complaints about the food at all. I walked into the restaurant tonight attempting to order a to go order. Was greeted pleasantly by staff sitting in the waiting area. Yes, sitting in the waiting area. I then went to the hostess and told her I'd like to place an order to go. She pointed to the "to go" sign in the back and told me I needed to to back there. Cool, got it. I missed the huge sign. When I get to the to go area, the woman behind the counter does not greet me or even really acknowledge me. Doesnt ask how she can help me. I didnt know where the menu was or anything. So I find it and start flipping through it. I order two different things and while I'm ordering I have questions. I dont eat here often. I ask, does the bleu burger have bacon on it? And she goes, "the bacon bleu burger? Yes, the BACON bleu burger has bacon on it..." clearly I didnt know it came with bacon. All my other questions were met with a similar level of attitude and disinterest. When customer service is literally your job, I would like to at least NOT be talked down to or given the level of disrespect that I felt. This experience left a poor taste in my mouth and I don't know if I'll be back because of it now. She isnt even wearing a real name tag. It says PM deli? Or something like that. read more

This place is overrated. It's always busy, especially when it opened. I've been there twice. The menu does have a lot of healthy low calorie options which is good for those type of people. I'm not a calorie counter, so none of that really attracted me. I couldn't really find anything that I wanted so I settled for the triple decker sandwich. It was good but nothing special. My fiancé got a sandwich and a milkshake and he enjoyed it. However when we got the check, the total was ridiculous. The milkshake was almost $9. That's crazy for a milkshake. Unless the milk was just freshly squeezed from a golden cow I wouldn't be willing to pay more than 5 dollars. Then looking back at the menu I realized how crazy some of the prices were. Just took my outta town family here. Everyone loved it! Neils is the best waiter. The milkshakes are thick and delicious. It was a 15 minute wait but the place was slammed with an after church crowd. My cousin got a bloody mary..which was interesting with the old bay and jalapeno peppers. The steak and cheese was excellent with the yummu shoe string fries! If you want different and healthy then this is the place to go. I will say however the crab cakes were less than appetizing being a Maryland girl I can't tolerate fillers in my crab cakes. I'm from Jersey, so I'm a big diner snob. We just wanted something like back at home, that opens early, closes late, and My family and (along with out of town family and friends) I have been to Silver Diner on MANY occasions. I have got many things from their loaded french fries, to breakfast (which is awesome), to a B.L.T.A. (bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado). The food is always amazing, fresh, and timely. My husband has been equally pleased with each of his dishes. We have friends who are vegans, so this place makes it easier for everyone to get something they enjoy. The staff there is wonderful! My husband and I always joke because we can't seem to pick a favorite! Everyone is always so nice, attentive, relaxed, and polite. I love the fact that the managers walk around and ask how you're doing. It makes me feel like they truly care! The place is always clean. And they are very timely with getting us seated, even on super busy days. Every person we've brought here has been very satisfied and happy and thoroughly enjoys the healthy, wide variety of options. I love the fact that butternut squash, beets, and Brussel sprouts are a side option! They offer agave, too! And lastly, their reward card is fabulous! My husband got a wonderful bison burger for his birthday, along with a lovely dessert, all FREE. They didn't restrict him from getting a certain meal. The coupons are amazing we get in the mail! The food is fine once they get your order right. First time we went they cooked her burger how I wanted mine cooked and vice versa. Service wasn't bad that time but she was remiss on filling water.
