For my first diner in Waldorf, MD, this one really set the standard. The service was lively and friendly, and not to mention super fast. My two siblings and two cousins ordered, ate, hung around all within an hour. The food was great, but the service really pushed the experience. Definitely recommend and shout out to our server Chris! read more

I am a regular at the Waldorf Silver Diner. As a vegetarian it's almost impossible to find a place eat out in Waldorf. The restaurants here cater mostly to huge overloaded carb meals that contain massive amounts of meats. But the Silver Diner offers some vegetarian options that are actually healthy. The Downside; well as a regular I've noticed that the patrons to this diner are cheapscapes. They gobble up a huge amount of food, make a mess, and scrounge for every and anything they can get for free during their meal. Then, when they get the check they skimp out on the tip. I have witnessed this almost every time I have been at this diner. Cheap-scapes! This is not a poor town. It's made up mostly of Federal Government employees. They are pulling down paychecks that exceed most of us hard working blue collar underlings. Yet they always seem to cheap out with tipping. Shame on them. The crew at the Silver Diner are made up of some of the finest hard working folks you could imagine. They are pleasant, and they look out for each other. They are busy. Man are they busy. If you spend any amount of time at this diner and you understand the food industry you immediately understand and gain respect for these folks. The sad news is that a lot of the patrons are just simply cheap-scapes. The patrons even though well off, skimp out on the tips at this restaurant regularly. This happens throughout this town, but I am speaking about a place I happen to frequent. It's very sad, and shameful. So if you are at the Silver Diner in Waldorf remember to tip your server well. To help make up for the trash that has blown in before you. read more

The Testimony really made me feel really good and appreciated: "My name is TJones and my wife and I were married in November 2011. I personally had worked in full-time ministry for seven years and had suffered many years under the leadership of a spiritual abusive pastoral staff. My wife and I left that ministry in August 2012 and at that time I had decided that I didn't want anything to do with church. As a result we decided to just read and study together at home but unfortunately we began to experience some major problems in our marriage. At one point in time it had gotten so bad that we had decided to separate and even file for divorce. I contacted one of our spiritual counselors and she referred me to Bishop Walker. Initially, I hesitated and didn't want to reach out to Bishop Walker because of my past experiences with Pastors and so-called men of God but my counselor begged me to go and told me that he was a true man of God and that he could help us save our marriage. Well, I made the call and I met with Bishop Walker by myself during my first visit and I was really surprised that he even took the time to meet with me because during that season he was simultaneously overseeing two churches. He really inspired me during my first meeting with him and gave me the hope that my marriage could be saved. At the end of the session I asked him why was he helping me because I wasn't a member of his church and he responded by saying that helping people restore their marriages was what he and his wife were called to do. During my next meeting with Bishop Walker I brought my wife and he was even able to gain her trust and eventually he gave us a few things to do which ultimately led us to work out our problems and stay together. We had also been unable to have a child together but he spoke over our marriage and told us that one day we would have a child. Not only did Bishop Walker help to restore my marriage but he also restored my faith in Pastors and Church. He was a real example of what a man of God is supposed to be. It hasn't been easy but my wife and I have celebrated four years of marriage on November 2015 and God even blessed us with a beautiful baby boy on June 2015. We named him Matthias, which means "God's gift". We are extremely thankful that God led us to Bishop Walker (Heritage Church International Waldorf MD) and for the counsel that he gave to us. I pray that God continues to use him and his ministry to bless others and help people save their marriages like he did for us." Thank you Brother T.J. that really encouraged me. read more

How do you mess up salad and chicken strips. After waiting an hour to receive my food your serving me inedible food. I only tried this restaurant because Waldorf is lacking when it comes to food and because of the rave reviews only to find another horrible restaurant. read more

Great quality and awesome service. Just a bit on the pricey side but still good. I recommend the bison egg ranchero.

great food! great service, if i was vegan or vegetarian this would be my go to spot. It gave a very nice old school vibe.

This place is cool for lunch or dinner but I personally think you can find somewhere better for breakfast. First of all, I ordered the Western omelette but when it came out there was no cheese in the center. I told the waitress and she said you have pay extra *scratches head* Why call it an omelette and you don't have cheese. The breakfast quality of the meat is poor. Other than breakfast I have no complaints. Clean restaurant, good customer service, and reasonable prices. read more

Good service and great food, love that the menu selection changes with the season's. Managers constantly walk around and ask patrons about their dining experience. read more

I've always loved the Silver Diner since it first opened. It's been great watching the menu become more healthy and interesting over the years. Now that I'm especially dedicated to eating healthy, this is one of my favorite places. The "Under 600 calorie" items are very tasty! read more

I ordered a waffle, chicken sausage & scrsmbled eggs with cheese. All of my food was cold & there was only 1 speck of cheese in my ovrr scrambled eggs. That was the worst meal I've ever had at a SD in my life!! The waffle was so cold, the butter didn't even melt when I tried spreading it on. I'm horribly disappointed. read more

The food here is usually on point, I wanted to start by stating that as I am a fair person, however, it is just not possible for me to give a high rating to a place with such horrific service. I was out running some last minute Christmas errands and had a taste for breakfast/brunch. I walk in and head straight for the bar seating since it was just me. This is where it all went downhill. I kid you not, I sat there for 15 minutes before anyone even thought to ask me if I was ok, if I wanted something to drink or heavens forbid, if I wanted to order food, ya know, seeing as how I was in a diner and all :( I honestly couldn't believe it as I sat there and watched their staff walk past me 1 by 1 , I truly started to think that maybe I was invisible until finally a guy who I believe was a bus boy, not even a waiter, looked at me and thought "hey, maybe she wants to order something". I wish I knew his name to at least give him credit for that much. He got the attention of the young lady that was supposed to be taking care of me and I sat there and overheard her put up a fight of sorts because I guess my seat at the end of the section was supposed to be assigned to someone else. She was also the main waitress who kept walking past me like I wasn't there. Here's my thing, I've never been a waitress, but knowing how to extend courteous service to a human being, even if I'm not in your so called section, if you see me sitting there and you see that no one has offered to help me, just being thoughtful, don't you simply ask if I need anything? or wouldn't you at least tell me " hey someone will be right with you". She finally comes over and very dryly takes my order and of course the experience continues to go downhill. It takes my food at least 30 minutes to be placed in front of me, all I'm thinking while sitting there is "is this really happening ?" And trust me, I would have gotten up and left but at this point I was committed and hungry. I watched my star waitress intently and she NEVER in that 30 minutes stopped to even check on me, ask me if I wanted more coffee and more importantly, it never dawned on her that my food was taking an unusually long time. Again, what an employee of the month she is. It was actually a different waitress who once again noticed no one was attending to me that came over and asked me what I ordered and then proceeded to check on my food. Of course then my star waitress comes swooping in to retrieve my order. I'm thinking "girl don't even bother". It gets worse, as if that's possible. I start chatting with a very nice lady sitting next to me who tells me that her experience had also been horrible and she was also pretty thrown off by the whole thing. She couldn't even get anyone to bring her her check! Finally the manager comes to clear her dishes away, the same guy who'd also been walking past me like I wasn't there and he decides to ask her how everything was. She responds by letting him know that no, things hadn't been good and he then begins tripping over himself to apologize and offers her a coupon to return in the future for a free meal. I swear I just knew he was going to correct things with me next, but nope! And he even heard me and the woman talking about how bad my whole experience had been...... He kept ignoring me, lol! To make it worse, I guess he gives it some more thought and returns to inform her that because he feels terrible that she wasn't 100% happy with her service, he was going to comp her meal! This was great news for her as I still sat there wondering what would be offered to me, of course nothing was. At this point it was starting to feel like a dream, and I can't recall a dining experience in recent times that was this awful. I think it goes without saying that I will NEVER eat here again and will advise everyone I know not to as well. In the world we live in where people have boundless options, you simply cannot offer this extremely poor level of service, you just can't. read more

We have been three times since they opened here in Waldorf. Each time we have been served promptly, and the food has been excellent. We love their healthy smoothies and burgers, and have loved the sandwiches too. I highly recommend this restaurant. Convenient location, clean, great friendly staff, and delicious food. read more

Excellent service. Bison huevos ranchero is my go to favorite item. Mimosas on point.

It was an enjoyable 'diner' experience from the music in the parking lot to the milkshakes and 25 cent jukeboxes at each table. The parking lot was packed for a Wednesday night but there was no wait. Aaliyah was our waitresses. Service was fast and friendly. She checked on us several times, kept our drink glass full, never had to wait for anything. Food was fairly priced. Didn't see anything over $16.99. The Flat Iron steak was juicy and fairly tender, topped blue cheese, giving it a nice touch; cooked the way I requested it. The pot roast was VERY tender and tasty. Overall, the food quality was very good for the price. They have something for the vegetarians and calorie counters and for he hearty meat and dessert lovers too. They serve alcohol and use local farms. The only complaint was the table could have been cleaned better before we sat down and food was stuck on the back side of the salad bowl. All those are easy fixes for the young staff working in a hurry. Will definitely go back. read more

When first coming in the place is extremely loud. The waitress was nice. When finally ordered a expensive sandwich, they forgot to bring out the coleslaw. And the fries were cold and the bread was hard. Not to mention the size of this high dollar only half sandwich. It was very unreasonable. Then asked for pie for dessert. And that took forever, ended up just telling them to forget it. Already had been there over an hour. And all I got was a sandwich. You would think they would of just given the pie on the house. Not a good first impression for me. I prefer Denny's over this place. read more

My husband and I went to Silver Diner for first time today. Our server, Rene, was great. I had salmon sliders with a terrific sauce and enjoyed them. We liked lunch so much , we decided to take our team to the diner for a combination lunch/happy hour on a Friday in September. I am happy they opened in Waldorf ! Love the extended hours and fresh meals. read more

Wow! I want to be selfish and keep this place a secret but i just cant---I have to give honor where honor is due! I ordered the Terayki Portabello with farro (Vegan dish) ...not a Vegan (shakes head vehemently), but I to try new things. I ordered an appetizer of lamb meatballs, just in case it wasnt filling, and i could have saved my money. The dish was delicious & tasty and filling. I didnt even eat it all...i ended up boxing it up and most of the meatballs (i did taste one...good too). My daughter, the teen, usually doesnt say much about the food when she goes out....she plays it safe with food and orders almost the same dishes everywhere and when i ask hows the food she says "ok". Today i didnt even ask her and she announced (when she came up for air from her plate) "That was really good" with a big ole smile on her face. Customer Service was good, the food was great, prices reasonable, everything was clean....my compliments to the chef and big ole high five to the owner and his staff! I will be going back to try out more dishes! read more

Great place for vittles with friends. Food is pretty good. Often go after church. Love the lamb benedict

If you are looking for a restaurant with great farm to table cuisine and affordable menu options, then you have found the right place. Ever since this diner was built I have enjoyed it. I like how they have options for all and are locally sourcing a lot of their menu from local farms. Their menu includes breakfast, lunch and diner which can be eaten all day no mater the hour. They continue to change their menu every season which I like. They make you feel a little more comfortable about what your eating because you know where it's coming from. It's also very kid friendly and has an old school vibe. Every booth has its own personal jukebox which is cool. Bathrooms are located in the rear. On certain days it can be packed so be aware of that!!! Some items do contain soy and they can cater certain menu choices to allergies etc. This time around I got the "Carolina shrimp quesadilla" and it was amazing, bursting with flavor. The grits I ordered were also good and they give you good portions. read more

Ben was amazing!!!! He was very kind and hospitable. This is my new favorite spot. The food was impeccable, highly recommended

I was very impressed with the service, something that's lacking these days, as well as the food. I would recommend it highly.

Exterior shiny, interior nice, like a classic 50s diner... Lots of people, very loud, don't even try and listen to the little jukebox on the booth tables. Sat right away, however took 10 minutes for a waiter to finally introduce himself. Ordered drinks and entrees right away. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, entrees took another 10. So almost 30 minutes to start eating...(was very crowded) Waiter didn't ask how I wished my steak cooked so I assumed it came as in the picture on menu (med. rare). It came well done, dry, tough and rather tasteless. The meat comes with a giant scoop of garlic garlic butter on top (I'm guessing to mask the lack of flavor in the "flat iron steak". The waiter forgot my crab and corn chowder and even charged me for a seperate bowl. I had to ask for it and ask for it to b taken off my bill... There was garlic slathered on everything, a classic way to hide rather bland food in the restaurant business. I don't mind some garlic, but this was over the top... My wife enjoyed her huevos rancheros....average at best, she makes much better at home...she did like the texture of the chips... Our check got fumbled up with a wrong charge and to top it off...when we got up to leave....we discovered pieces of someone's chicken meal under our feet and lining the base of our booth, even in the walkway... My wife and I are world travelers, and we don't want to judge too hard....but for the high price they charge....they need to do a hell of a lot better than they do to get my return business... As of now...I would not recommend silver diner to anyone I consider a friend... read more

This is one of my favorite locations in terms of service and delicious food so it was out of the ordinary for the diminished quality of service. We were welcomed with smiles by the 2 hostesses Aneesa and Andriana. They were so kind, they gave us suggestions on what to order.

When you want a home cooked meal but haven't got the time, Silver Diner has you covered. Fresh, well prepared food in a friendly atmosphere with knowledgable staff makes every time a great time. I had a cup of crab chowder that was super yummy & had a little kick to it. All the food we ordered was tasty & we split the decadent brownie sundae. Shout out to Erica who provided superior service. read more

I feel like the food and service here is hit or miss. I don't care for the food very much.

I love Silver Diner, and seeing as though my boyfriend had never been before we decided to head in recently. This was our first time at the Waldorf location, as we both live in Northern VA, and the experience was extremely uncomfortable because of the poor service. Our server was uninterested and gave off the vibe the entire visit that she wanted us out as soon as possible. Mind you, we went in around 7pm, no where near their closing time, and they weren't busy in the least bit. She was extremely unfriendly and made us both feel unwelcome and rushed. The worst part was at the end after she's swiped our cards. She puts the receipts down at the table and leans over us, inches away from my face, as I'm filling out the tip and total section. I sat there, pen in hand, made eye contact with her, eye contact with my boyfriend, and back down at the receipt. She stood there, leaned over us staring at the receipts the entire time. I felt so awkward and uncomfortable. After seeing I left a 30% tip, which I consider a great tip, she makes a loud disgusted groan/sigh, dramatically rolls her eyes and storms off. No thanks, no have a good night. Just glares at us as we leave the restaurant. I have never been treated that way by a server in my life, or been made to feel so uncomfortable at a restaurant. Since when is 30% an offensive tip?!? Definitely not recommending. read more

Hi Joe. You asked about reaching out. I gave you the info. AND YOU IGNORED IT. Just verifies what I've already said.

The great variety you would expect. A little more upscale version of the old diner. But a little packed in and noisy.

Delicious and it feels great to know that the food is local. Try the goat cheese and balsamic appetizer. you'll be grateful you gave it a shot! read more

It's ok...I ordered breakfast for takeout and was not impressed with the food or flavor. I could have gotten the same for less down the street at Denny's! It's mediocre at best! Granted...I'm from a big city with a plethora of dining options so my platelet is expansive, so I get it for the area it's located in, with not much to choose from - especially after 10pm. With that said, the diner does add a bit of variety & options beyond burgers & fries! The staff was friendly and the ambiance is casually comfortable. Maybe I'll get the Wow Factor when I dine in? read more

Slow service and the food wasn't good at all. It took me toooo long to get food. When we got the food it was hard.

This place is overrated. It's always busy, especially when it opened. I've been there twice. The menu does have a lot of healthy low calorie options which is good for those type of people. I'm not a calorie counter, so none of that really attracted me. I couldn't really find anything that I wanted so I settled for the triple decker sandwich. It was good but nothing special. My fiancé got a sandwich and a milkshake and he enjoyed it. However when we got the check, the total was ridiculous. The milkshake was almost $9. That's crazy for a milkshake. Unless the milk was just freshly squeezed from a golden cow I wouldn't be willing to pay more than 5 dollars. Then looking back at the menu I realized how crazy some of the prices were. I did enjoy the Michael Jackson selection in the juke box! read more

Just took my outta town family here. Everyone loved it! Neils is the best waiter. The milkshakes are thick and delicious. It was a 15 minute wait but the place was slammed with an after church crowd. My cousin got a bloody mary..which was interesting with the old bay and jalapeno peppers. The steak and cheese was excellent with the yummu shoe string fries! They have great gluten free options, freah local farm food and a light menu. Overall a great place. read more

Great food. Staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is new and the decor is up to date. Busy place but good, tasty food !!!

If you want different and healthy then this is the place to go. I will say however the crab cakes were less than appetizing being a Maryland girl I can't tolerate fillers in my crab cakes. My family enjoyed their meals which is most important. If you have food allergies and it may be hard for you to find options this is definitely the spot to chose. read more

I'm from Jersey, so I'm a big diner snob. We just wanted something like back at home, that opens early, closes late, and My family and (along with out of town family and friends) I have been to Silver Diner on MANY occasions. I have got many things from their loaded french fries, to breakfast (which is awesome), to a B.L.T.A. (bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado). The food is always amazing, fresh, and timely. My husband has been equally pleased with each of his dishes. We have friends who are vegans, so this place makes it easier for everyone to get something they enjoy. The staff there is wonderful! My husband and I always joke because we can't seem to pick a favorite! Everyone is always so nice, attentive, relaxed, and polite. I love the fact that the managers walk around and ask how you're doing. It makes me feel like they truly care! The place is always clean. And they are very timely with getting us seated, even on super busy days. Every person we've brought here has been very satisfied and happy and thoroughly enjoys the healthy, wide variety of options. I love the fact that butternut squash, beets, and Brussel sprouts are a side option! They offer agave, too! And lastly, their reward card is fabulous! My husband got a wonderful bison burger for his birthday, along with a lovely dessert, all FREE. They didn't restrict him from getting a certain meal. The coupons are amazing we get in the mail! The point system is awesome! Whoever came up with the card details, was brilliant! We love it there! We're actually going this morning with our family who is visiting! read more

My family and myself was celebrating for our son making black belt at the Silver Diner in Waldorf and it was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. First of we were seated at our table and the crew person just threw the menus on the table with the silver ware without placing them in the proper place. Second, we had to wait till 25minutes, before we got our orders taken, and another 10 minutes waiting before getting our drinks. Third we recieved our food after ordering it 30 minutes later, to make it worse, my wife's and myself order was wrong. The mikeshake for my daughter was the wrong size, they gave adult size and it was dripping on the table because it was over flowing on the side. Fourth, the worst of the dining experience was my son finding a piece of hair in his fries, my wife's drink glass was cracked on the side also. Fifth, during the whole time we were in the restaurant , not once did they remove glasses and dishes from 3 tables around us. We did not want to make a issue while there and to get peoples attention and get the waitress in trouble. This review is for management, so they can do better next time. read more
