I sat at the bar where Marquis took care of me. Service was fast and friendly, not over bearing, and every question was answered without hesitation. I had the avocado toast with salmon and it was fresh and full of flavor. The avocado still had texture which I love and the toast was the perfect thickness and had just enough bite to it to hold things together but not be tough...the salmon was a nice compliment! The MEDITERRANEAN GREEK SALAD was crisp, garden fresh and full of flavor, the chicken was cooked just right and not dry, couldn't have asked for more... They also had a nice scotch on the top shelf, that's always a bonus! I will reserve the fifth star for when I return and try one of their highly praised dishes off the main menu. All in all, a great experience and I love the decor and music... read more

The menu doesn't get stale here. Seasonal changes are the norm. I love that and always look for the new additions. Try the Smith Island Cake, a MD speciality, if you've never had it. Even the wines and beers change, a VG thing. The price is right for the food quality. You'll see tables with nothing but "boomers" having lunch - a sure sign that a restaurant prices are reasonable. For a restaurant that's into organic and food to table sourcing, my hope is that the level of plastic use goes down. Get rid of the plastic straws, for example. Use paper straws or none. I don't want to feel guilty when I see photos of turtles with straws up there noses or read about the amount of plastic found inside a dead whale leading to its' death. It's a huge environmental responsibility issue. Yeah, I know other places are even more guilty but change has to start somewhere. Why not with SD? read more

Silver Diner Waldorf Md on 9/17/2024 @ noon Long wait Waiter did not offer drinks prior to ordering. Food was delicious and hot upon receipt. Did not appreciate how the manager seating guest and staff stood close by socializing while customers were eating. Extremely loud, distracting, and disrespectful. read more

Food was great & the service was outstanding. Phil did a wonderful job & was very friendly to our table. Will definitely be back.

Love everything about this place. Clean and efficient with wonderful customer service. Especially the carry out.

We ate breakfast at this little classically furnished diner and it was really cute on the inside, the staff was pleasant and polite, and the service was great. The breakfast was decent enough. Nothing to complain about but a bit on the bland side of things. I ordered the eggs benedict and everything was fine but it just wasn't lemony or spiced. My significant ordered the conventional eggs, bacon, and pancakes and he said the pancakes were very good. Nice and fluffy. read more

A really nice Silver Diner although the parking can be a bit tricky with some cars driving a bit too fast around the building. Always a nice variety of options available and the seasonal selections are unique and delicious. Make use of the happy hour deals or blue plate specials! Those are discounts/cheaper options during different times for select items, I'd double check online to review specifics. The service is friendly and amicable, our server checked in with us a few times and helped answer some of our questions about the drinks (both alcoholic and about their hand spun milkshakes). The only thing this diner lacks compared to basic traditional diners is that they do not offer a variety of pasta dishes if that's something you crave ay this type of establishment. As a seasonal offering, they currently have a crab meat and lobster angel hair dish, but in their standalone menu there is no pasta section. Again they have plenty of mindful and rich food options so there is still a lot to enjoy. read more

This is my spot for breakfast. The service is good, the food is good. I'm always there because they have never disappointed me.

I am very displeased with my experience with this Silver Diner location this afternoon. I decided to come here today because this establishment serves breakfast food throughout all hours of the day, which would have been nice if I actually had the chance to try the food out. I was seating as soon as I walked in seeing as though the place wasn't any busier than usual, however, I was seated for 15 minutes without service or any kind of greeting before I decided it was time to get up and leave. I know for a fact that the server that was assigned to my area saw me because I was right beside one of his other tables and he never once checked in or greeted me. Also, I wasn't alone, so there's no way I wasn't seen sitting in the booth. I spoke with the host to let him know that I was never greeted or no one came up to take my order for the last 15 minutes, and I should've asked to speak with the manager. I am very unsatisfied with my experience and most likely will not consider returning. read more

Thank you Keith for catering brunch for our group. The food and drinks were wonderful! Keith gave a thorough presentation of Silver Diner's philosophy and he's very knowledgeable of the menu! He took time to detail items such as plant-based options, seasonal items, desserts and even locally sourced cocktails. It's been a while since I've been to Silver Diner. Keith has definitely convinced me to stop by soon! read more

The food is not up to par in this location. Eggs are extremely dry (no exaggeration either). The service is meh... I guess I just miss the days when waiters/waitresses (whatever is politically correct) actually smiled and at least acted like they enjoyed their job. I'm telling my age, huh? Lol! read more

I love Silver Diner !! This one especially every time I come you can feel the warmth of the atmosphere, you hear the staff laughing together and working as a team as a family. You don't really see that a lot of places. The food is amazing my server Jahlia introduce the dinner option and I didn't even know they have scallops which was delicious! I had to say something the manager and she was fabulous Mimi has a great personality and you can that it reflects on her staff. Keep up the great work #silverdinerrocks read more

After passing by this restaurant many times we decided to give it a try last Saturday. We were greeted and seated promptly as soon as we arrived. The place was packed, but it is a large restaurant with plenty of seating. Since it was brunch I had a mimosa and my husband had a Bloody Mary both were yummy. For our meals my caramel French toast was delicious but his hot fried chicken sandwich was better. That mango salsa hit the spot! We will be back because the menu is tempting and I need some of that amazing apple pie that I saw as we were leaving. Great staff, cute retro decor, clean restrooms, plenty of seating, and delicious food and drinks!!! read more

I had an outstanding experience today, with the busboy, Patrick. I created a huge problem for myself by leaving my retainers on the chair next to me, knowing I would see them when I picked up my wallet. Long story short I did not. When I realized that 20 minutes later, I went back. Patrick had noticed them on the floor and had thrown them in the trash, which ended up in the dumpster. We talked for a couple minutes, when he said he would get the bag, transfer the trash to another so he could look for them. He found them, put them in hot water, rinsed them off and gave them to me. I was thrilled and grateful, which I told him. I tipped him well for his efforts that WAY above and beyond. Every encounter over the years with the staff at the Waldorf, MD Silver Diner has been amazing. Everyone there is gracious, helpful and kind. But Patrick deserves special recognition for his efforts today. Thank you!!! read more

Stopped by on a whim, because I craved a sandwich. Justin was both friendly & professional, while multi tasking his tush off (taking & bagging phone & counter orders & delivering To-Go orders curbside). Female manager offered me a complimentary drink while waiting for my to-go order (nice touch)! Hubby's enjoyed his Hickory Smokehouse Cheddar Burger (Sorry, not pictured). Son loved & ate every bite of his Bacon Bleu Burger. My Triple Decker Club (w/added creamy guacamole) satisfied my craving. Huge, tasty & well assembled. Will visit again & try other menu items. read more

Had a bad day and stopped in for some dessert. I know, stop judging me...Anywhoo, I knew I wanted their amazing chocolate cake but I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink with it. The bartender was AHMAZING. She asked me what I liked and made me the best Irish Coffee that I've had in a loooong time. I was/am super impressed. First of all, I didn't even know Silver Diner did drinks and second of all, the bartender at this location does a phenomenal job of reading her customers and giving them what they really want (even if THEY don't know it yet lol). I was quickly in and out but we will be back to this location. The cake was moist as always. It's a sweet rich cake that's always good but I'll ask for less sauce next time. The service was good and it was clean and new. I've never had bad food at a Silver Diner and their menus are standard but the service here out it a step above some other locations. Kudos! read more

I don't normally write a review on chain restaurants but I go to my local Silver Diner almost every Sunday. For the last two Sundays i ordered Chicken and extra crispy pecan waffle; The chicken is SUPER crispy but yet juicy and tender, and flavorful not overwhelming with spices and the waffle was perfect for me! However, this time they gave me some kind relish which was sweet, salty, spicy and sour so much better than the gravy! Prior to these two orders of chicken and waffle; i only had it one time prior and i didn't like it. read more

Great food,.. The Service is on point and the Atmosphere is laidback and Chill and enjoyable

It's 6/6/25 I'm back in here again and once again the cooks messed up my order and the waitress is not attentive thid is definitely a different crew as I don't expect people to stay working there they must evolve to better in life. I'm sitting at the bar waiting 25 minutes and and more with no customers and my waitress just said they made the wrong thing they made the appetizer portion. I'm trying my best to not to keep complaining but this will be my last time coming to the Waldorf location . The quality of service is declining. There are no customers and they messed up my order twice. I was given the excuse the change in shift and u clearly watched them there was no shift change , the waitress need better customer service there are a few who are excellent but I think they no longer work there. I don't even want to be Compensated. I want better service and once again they keep apologizing. I just want my food in a timely manner and better customer service to the money spent as it's not cheap to eat here . The Waldorf location is going down maybe they need to be paid more to get better service. read more

This is not your typical diner, so if that's what your looking for, move on. This is more of an upscale menu than a diner with more flavor and fancier options. The food was good, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. We ordered the veggie tacos and veggie burger. I appreciated the vegetarian options-- but they seemed small. We didn't like the toppings on the miso burger-- but to make the build your own veggie burger and get cheese-- it would have been a $20 burger. This was 16.99 and came with a small side of fries. With water as beverages we spent about 27.00. Food was flavorful, but expensive for a "diner." read more

The country scrambler is the worst breakfast scrambler I've ever tasted. The food don't have a taste at all. They put more potatoes than sausage. As u can see, I wasn't able to eat the food at all. The sausage is dry and it has little bit of eggs. They serve it with the baby pancake.. this meal alone is 15.99. We were seated on a smaller table that we can barely move. When there are more tables that are available. Can't even enjoy the music bcz you hear more people talking than the music. I ordered a French toast bcz I knew that they are not IHoP that serve a good size of pancakes. The French are my favorite so far. I Definitely stay away from silver diner again for a while. read more

Love this restaurant usually. ..... But tonight the JV team must have been working. Very poor service. I waited at my table for 22mins without anyone waiting on me. One waiter was sitting in a booth playing with his phone. I finally said something to the manager when a couple walked in and they were immediately served upon entering the restaurant. The manager was nice and attempted to take care me but after over 20 mins of waiting at my table, I was annoyed and left. read more

Silver Diner came to the rescue as we were tired of eating "food in the house."
