Pretty crowded on 3/11/22 but the wait wasn't too bad. Hostess and servers were polite and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I love the diverse menu of the Silver Diner and the fact that you can eat breakfast at any time of day! No matter what I get it has always been very good. It has a family friendly ambiance and is always clean and homey. The prices are a tad high if you have a big family but affordable for others. The food is okay here. You can get the same thing 3 days in a row and it'll taste differently. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes the servers seem like they are happy to take your order while other times it seems like you're bothering them with your presence. I had not been to Silver Diner in Waldorf in a few years but knew I get those amazing brussels sprouts! I took a good friend out to diner and promised The Silver Diner would deliver. Our server was training a new server. OK but the new server had on a very wrinkled top AND she kept leaning on our table, like with her breasts almost touching the table! Honestly, we should have gotten up right then and there. But oh no, we stayed. I ordered the Angus Meatloaf w/side of corn. My friend ordered the Flat Iron steak. The BS were indeed very good! Then the meals were served. Oh My Lord--my plate was covered w/corn. This corn was obviously CAN Corn!! No question. The color was off, the taste, and then to have it on more than 50% of my plate! My friend even made a comment, "That sure is a lot of corn. It reminds me of can corn, is it?" I was embarrassed. After all the build up about this restaurant...I did look for a manager but they must have been busy? We sat at table 22, server DJ, guest count 2. No one has to doubt this review. We had ok service when we came here about a week ago. My husband and son came along with me and they were excited because Silver Diner was a place we had been scouting for a while. We entered the restaurant there was no hostess to greet us and when one showed she had a bad attitude. Once we sat down, our order took 30+ minutes to be taken and on top of that we waited about 10 minutes to recieve drinks. Just an awful experience. Outstanding service, we didn't have to wait long to be seated on a SUNDAY which is major. Food was DEEEELIIIICCCCIIIOOOUUUSSS (I think I spelled that right lol)! The food has went down hill significantly since it first opened. It may be partially due to the fact that it's so much turnover. The eggs were brown, the tomatoes were over ripe and mush, the salmon wasn't super fresh and the coffee tastes like dirt. read more

Silver Diner, oh how I love you! I came for an impromptu "feed your liquor" rendezvous..... I ordered the all-American, substituted regular eggs for a double order of vegan eggs. I also ordered "edamame" The edamame were very disappointing! I was expecting to see soybeans! No wonder the server looked at me crazy when I asked him to hold the salt. They were not good and tasted microwaved. I didn't eat my biscuit but my s/o did and said the biscuit was super hard, when he attempted to cut it in half... It's Silver Diner - you've probably been and the food is good enough to come back. What really made today's experience stand out was our server - Charnae. We stopped in on a Sunday morning and the place was hopping as usual. Even though it was really busy and you could read it on everyone's faces, Charnae greeted us at the door with the most sunny smile! Her happy disposition just set the whole experience off exactly right. I give this location 5 stars because it offers a relaxing atmosphere paired with great service and great food ! For starters the decor is your typical diner decor. Comfy booth seats, a jukebox playing 60s rock hits, the sound of hand-spun milkshakes machines in the distance. This place will put you in a chipper mood. I normally go on weekends around noon or during the week late at at night. They stay open till 12am during the week! It's normally pretty busy with people coming in and out but i've never had to wait too long for my food. The menu is ever changing and offers many dishes for people with allergens and dietary restrictions. Definitely a great place for vegans! The menu also offers affordable locally sourced wines, desserts and other items. I've tried plenty of dishes off of the menu but if i had to pick two options I would choose either the Tarragon Crab Cake Platter or the Meatless Miso Burger. You definitely get your bang for your buck! At most I normally end up spending $20 or less with tax. I'd recommend this place for anybody who wants the experience of casual dining but doesn't want to sacrifice flavor and nutrition. read more

I've been here multiple times before I moved away. It's always been one of my favorite places. Since we were in town this weekend, we took my brother in law here for his birthday breakfast. Everyone who went with us ordered breakfast. Everyone in our party was well pleased. No complaints about the food. My husband ordered eggs Benedict with a side of bacon. He ate every single bite! I ordered the bison juevos rancheros. It was delicious. Super flavorful and tasty. It has a bit of a spice to it! Be prepared for that! But I loved it. I've never had their breakfast before this visit. My sister got the banana stuffed French toast. Hers looked like straight up dessert. My sister and dad got the waffles and they loved it. My only complaint is the waitress really wasn't familiar with typical things on the menu. I asked for extra hollandaise sauce which is what comes with the eggs Benedict, and she had no idea what I was talking about. read more
