So they're lying to try to make customers upgrade for an unnecessary cost. They should be embarrassed. It was super easy to check in and they were kind enough to let us check in early (11:45am) They do offer cabin rentals, RV sites and tent sites. Our Site: We got a tent site and it was pretty big. A bit bigger than the rest and it was perfect for our party of 4. You can only bring one tent and it has to be on the tent pad so extra tents or any tents placed other than the tent pad are not allowed. Which was a huge bummer. We were 2 couples with 2 tents and had to purchase a bigger tent to fit all of us in it to fit on the pad. All in all we made it work. Parking: You have to register all vehicles that are staying in the campsite and only one car is allowed per site, which is somewhat of an inconvenience. Any extra vehicles are $5 more. We were told to park the extra vehicle in the extra parking spaces that were far away from our site. Bathrooms and Showers: They only have Male and Female bathrooms and showers an no gender neutral bathrooms or showers, so it can be very uncomfortable for masculine presenting women to go to the bathroom. They did say they had just remodeled the entire place so they completely missed the opportunity to be more inclusive. However, the bathrooms were very clean, and the showers were really nice. We did bring our own bathroom tent to avoid any type of uncomfortable encounters when having to use the little girls room and were told we could not have it bc they were trying to grow grass and any bodily fluids would be harmful to the soil. So we had to put our toilet away :( Each site has a fire pit and the camp ground offers wifi and a little convenient store. They do come around every other hour or so on their golf-cars selling fire wood and making sure everyone is following the rules. I honestly loved this place and would come back. The town's nearby are gorgeous and the staff here is super nice.

Not all the sites would accommodate this larger a rig except for the motorhome sites at the front, which during the time we were renting was not allowed for fifth wheels. We have no problem with the other site that they put it now just be aware ! The owners are sooo kind. I had a work package mailed there by mistake and they didn't mind and held it for me! Yes, they do have a lot of signs about where your pet can and cannot go, I would say if you plan on having your dog run around this is not the place for you. But they have plenty of spots to go potty, and they're conveniently located across the street from a beautiful trail! Your dog will love walking on that, instead!! We really enjoyed our stay, would come back

Not Exactly "Paradise" We've been on the road for 6 weeks…read moreand were looking forward to a relaxing stay near Crested Butte - a town known for being dog-friendly. Unfortunately, this RV park didn't match the vibe at all. For a place labeled as a resort, it's located in an industrial park and bombarded with "NO" signs - no this, no that - which set a very negative tone from the start. Surprisingly, the owner also runs a dog grooming business, but the park itself didn't feel welcoming to dog owners. That was a real letdown. The positives: the views are great, and each site has water and electric hookups. However, there's no on-site sewer -- you'll need to go into town to dump. There's just one bathroom and shower per gender, though they were clean and well-kept. Overall, it's adequate if you're just looking for a place to park in a beautiful area. But for dog owners or anyone looking for a truly friendly, "resort-like" experience - you might want to keep looking.

The occasion: viewing the incredible "Keith Haring: Grace House Mural" exhibition at MCA Denver back in 2021. Towards the end of my visit, I went upstairs to the rooftop and purchased a bottle of Big B's organic lemonade. Organic ingredients include lemon juice, cane sugar, whole lemons and apple juice, along with filtered water and natural flavor. What I loved about this lemonade is the citrus essence was great, it was not cloyingly sweet (more moderately sweet), and the apple juice gave it a welcome, totally different taste not found in most lemonades. Drinking this delicious lemonade was a great way to cap off an enjoyable visit to the museum. On a different note, I didn't realize Hotchkiss, Colorado is actually closer to Utah than Denver. It's about 236 miles away from Denver. But if I'm ever taking a road trip, I would like to visit Big B's Delicious Orchards.

If you want to be close to the city but surrounded by beauty I highly suggest this resort. I work in town and it takes me eight minutes to get to work but while not at work I am taking advantage of this blissful beautiful gift. You also can follow the bike bath to experience breathtaking views only accessible by walking, biking or paddling; and it is a two mile walk to town. I love to stop in and be treated so kindly by the management. They have always been wonderful! I have a dog and it is so nice just to take off walking with her and be mesmerized by the mountains and the river. The WiFi works great, sometimes i drop calls but who cares and it could just be my carrier. The hot water is HOT be careful and the place was toasty warm. It is so cute ! I will be leaving but this will always be a wonderful time in my life. If you are a river person like me.It is quite convenient to go two exits up out in at grissly and paddle home. Then a short ride back on my bike to get my car. Love it love it love it!

He was very friendly and polite and had a lot of information to share. From the parking area there are several paths that can be taking to either scale the small hill leading to a half dozen picnic tables and park grills, or that lead down to the shoreline. The grills seemed to be moderately maintained with a couple of them overflowing with charred debris, but the tables looked to be maintained fairly well. The best viewing spot was at the crest of the hill which let you see out over the entire lake and into the small valley leading to the adjoining lake. There is also a small boat ramp with its own parking area separate from the campground area that is obscured from view helping with the seclusion of the campground. The actual grounds in the non parking area are completely natural and unaltered being left up to natures choices, which is mostly covered in rocks and sparse patches of high mountain grasses. Also at the parking entrance is a small building with restrooms, that are mildly maintained and cleaned, although they were adequate for a camping environment. Overall, this is a nice little camping area with access to some incredible lake views, park grills, and fishing locations.

Our first overnight stay was a new moon, and the Milky Way and the sheer amount of stars was captivating -- and waking up that next morning and opening our tent to the sun rising over the lake and the mountains... well, it doesn't get much better than that. Make sure you grab whatever you'll need before you arrive. The nearest towns with services are Leadville, Buena Vista, or Aspen -- a minimum of 20 miles away. This campground is truly a hidden gem.
