True Bed and Breakfast Vibes. Quaint, Cozy, great location. Would only suggest slightly lower prices for better money for value. Made a reservation here for one night Sat - Sun on my first visit to Crested Butte. Tip: on their website it does not allow you to book just for one night for some rooms, so just call! When we arrived their was one staff working and checking people in, but Chris was welcoming, quick, and helpful. The B&B locks up after 8pm so you use a door keypad to access the B&B. Staff are friendly and attentive and let us check in 1.5 hours early. Amenities are good. Fresh cookies in the afternoon, breakfast in the morning, self-service coffee machines expresso machine. There is a hot tub but it was unfortunately closed for cleaning. There are ample communal rooms to relax. There are some bikes for free use at the front. Our room was quaint as well. Older decor and amenities so expect a very cabin feel. This place is fairly standard for the area. There are not alot of lodging options in crested butte but these B&Bs are a more enjoyable experience over AirBnBs. The location is unbeatable 2 blocks from elk ave. I would definitely return. My only suggestion is a slightly lower price per night. Maybe around $150 instead of $230

There are not a lot of lodging choices in Crested Butte. We chose this inn based on Yelp reviews and proximity to the historic downtown (two minute walk). The building is cozy and comfortable with about 16 rooms but not enough parking for all. Owners communicated well to set up our arrival when they were not present. Also gave us good recommendations for dinner. Breakfast was great; Nicole basically made it to order since there were very few guests that day. The one disappointment was the room which was extremely small and cramped, as well as hot. If there was an air conditioning system we didn't find it. A ceiling fan might have helped but there wasn't any. The sheets and pillows smelled as if somebody else had used them before us, but maybe they were just musty from lack of use. The bathroom was tiny but adequate. If I were to go back I would probably try to find a larger room. If you're going to visit crested butte this is a well-run establishment that's close to be action.

Very clean, great service, and friendly staff! This is a great place to stay if you want to ski and explore downtown CB. It's a short walk from the nearest bus stop making for easy travel to the slopes and also a very short walk downtown. Breakfast was delicious!

The cozy common area - tea and coffee are available throughout the day and baked goods are usually put out in the afternoon.

This is our second year skiing in Crested Butte and staying at Elk Mountain Lodge. We love this place and the location couldn't be better! Walk out the door and you're two blocks from restaurants, shops and the shuttle to the base of the slopes. The staff is amazing - Mark and Chris are the perfect combination of laid back and responsive, and we've yet to find anything Mark doesn't know about the town. The lodge is cozy - such a great atmosphere - and breakfasts (included with your room) are delicious (and there are always vegetarian or vegan options).

We loved our stay at the Elk Mountain Lodge. The bathroom was small but the quaint, comfy atmosphere made up for it in a big way. The perfect location to the main area was exactly what we were looking for, and we definitely would stay here again. The Mountain View's from every window are breath taking‼

We had a wonderful stay at Elk Mountain Lodge and I'm happy to say that this was my first B&B. After attempting to book a stay at a motel to no avail EML was recommended to us. We were so happy to find out that the lodge is extremely close to Elk Avenue (main drag) at a reasonable price. I especially loved that they had bicycles available for their guests at no charge. Yay! EML is super cozy with rustic design. They also have a hot tub. The compounds are very safe as a code is needed to enter at night. The place is clean and comfy. The breakfast in the morning was good, not exceptional, but good. We did think that they could have offered more in addition to what they had out. They did have a good selection, i.e.: yogurt and cereal, toast, and pancakes with sausage but what about other breakfast favorites? I also agree with one other post on Yelp that the beds need to be updated. Ours too had a hole in the middle and I kept tying to stay on my side of the bed but luckily my husband didn't mind. Pillows were too soft also - they should offer some hard pillows for those guests who HATE soft, fluffy, feathery ones. Regardless, we will be back because our stay was wonderful and the staff was just as nice .

Friendly. Comforting. Easy. Relaxing. Romantic. A yes attitude. Accommodating. Comfy beds and pillows. A happy place. No air conditioner but cool cool nights with the windows open. Lovely charming decor and common areas. Great location two blocks from the Main Street.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and rented out the Teocalli King Room. The sheets and bathrobes were nice, and the stand-in shower was excellent. It was quite cozy with plenty of room, storage space, and amenities to make it as comfortable of a stay as possible. Not to mention the direct access to the hot tub was a plus, which was a great addition. The host, Chris, is a superb cook and prepares a high-quality breakfast every morning of a variety of delicacies. I'm not even a fan of eggs but his Southwestern frittata has made me a believer now. He's very attentive to allergies as well and will always do his best to accommodate. My wife has a severe gluten allergy and he was always sure to supply a substitute. The only other thing he hosted regularly was beer tastings at 5, which we were unable to attend due to our plans, but he does have a nice selection of brews stored for it. The views from the B&B are great and it's located just a short walk from Elk Ave, where you'll find all the main shops and restaurants. Even closer is the bus stop that'll take you up the mountain. Overall, I cannot recommend Purple Mountain B&B for your stay. For the price point, the amenities, and level of service you're getting, it can't be beat. Definitely staying here again when we come back some day.

We LOVED our stay and absolutely will return the next time we head to Crested Butte.

The staff is also very friendly. The heated ski storage is incredibly convenient during the ski season, and the shuttle to the slopes is just a few steps away. There is a restaurant called the Highlife Crust & Crafts inside of this hotel. We didn't dine there, but I did grab a breakfast burrito one morning and got charged twice for it.
