Stayed at the Inn during wild flower season. Very clean rooms and walking distance from restaurants and shops. There is no air conditioning in the rooms but we had read that before and took a fan with us, so no issues. They also provide a window fan and there is a ceiling fan. Obviously the air conditioning isn't an issue in the cooler months. Would recommend and will definitely be staying again!

Nordic Inn feels like you are in the 20s out in the tundra. Rooms are pretty basic and a bit dingy. Service is great and the breakfast was fine.....the breakfast burrito is awesome....https://disburrito.com/ But for the price you cant really complain

I'm giving this one star because the rooms themselves were normal hotel rooms. Nothing to write home about either way. However the biggest issue we had was the security and how unsafe we felt. We arrived at 7pm and the desk was already unmanned for the night. The key to the rooms were left unattended out for anyone to grab (there was signage directing anyone who wandered into the lobby to where to find the unattended keys). The keys themselves were actual physical keys that anyone who had stayed there in the last god knows how many years could have made a copy of. But the truly worst part was that the rooms had a deadbolt that had been very intentionally disabled with a note stating they had removed it on purpose. In addition there is no AC in the rooms, despite it being listed as an amenity on one of the third party booking sites. All the rooms were equipped with fans which did cool down the rooms sufficiently by the middle of the night, but it involved leaving a hotel window wide open in ground floor or second floor rooms that overlooked an external walk, which is not something many people would be comfortable with. The breakfast was also pretty underwhelming - frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches you could microwave, etc.

Had a great stay in Crested Butte at the Nordic Lodge. For the Pros: Attractively priced, great location, recently remodeled rooms were nice and we loved the big plank hardwood floors, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, decent amenities such as the fire pit and hot tub. For the Cons: we wish there was a mini fridge in the room. We had to get ice on the second floor just to cool our drinks. Also- wish you could control the temp in the room and also they left the lights on outside of our room all night - would be nice if they could be turned off since it kept me awake and shined into the room. Also- it would be nice if they had the fire pit on a control with auto shut off so you didn't have to hunt down someone for a key in the middle of the night since the place closes early at 5pm.

They left the lights on for us!

My family and friends had a wonderful time staying at the Nordic Inn this past weekend. We stayed in the chalet just above the main building, and it was perfect for our little group. With comfy beds, a gas fireplace on both floors, a huge balcony to take in the scenery, and tasteful artwork - it really did feel like a little home away from home. The main building serves an included continental breakfast, as well as snacks and beverages for apres ski. The complex itself is a medium walk to the lifts, just as far to walk as the on base day skiing lot. The staff here is friendly and accommodating, and helped make my family's trip a memorable one.

Recently updated room. You can see the fridge. Also notice the beetle kill ceiling... gives a little bit of rustic charm.

I love this place. I don't know why it seems to fly below the radar..... The location is prime: The Nordic Inn is 1/2 mile from lifts; ¼ mile from Mountaineer Square shuttle into town (shuttles ever 15 min between 7:10 AM- 11:40PM) . You can actually ski /ride down to the hotel parking lot, which is located near the Homeowner Skiway/Columbine Hill. When you are there, you'll notice an upstairs interior hallway - this has ski storage and boot dryers/warmers, which guests are welcome to use. There are vending machines also. Downstairs, there is a comfortable lounge with chairs, board games, and a gas fireplace. They also have an automated bar - an RFID fob on your room key (yep, real metal keys. Remember those???) allows you to get a serving of 8 or so different wines (tilted toward local wineries) and about the same number of liquors. Prices were reasonable, in the $6.00-$10.00 range. Continental breakfast plus cereals are served adjacent to the lounge. They have wineglasses, plates, etc for guests to use, as well as a microwave. Very nice people - I felt like a guest in someone's home. ***IMPORTANT*** - Make arrangements if you're going to arrive after 7:00 PM, and they will leave the keys in your room and ask you to complete the check-in the following morning. They have good wifi and a hot tub, which they ask guests not to use after 10:00 out of respect for people trying to sleep. The rooms themselves have been nicely updated, with very comfortable beds (though, honestly...after a good day of skiing, I could sleep on a bed of nails). Some, but not all, of the rooms have a mini fridge. Ask for a room with one if you want it. My sons and I did....bringing your own sandwich supplies for the mountain can save a LOT of cash. Some of the rooms are pet friendly.

And it's not just a limited amount of time... We have been trying to get hot water for many hours. Now there are a lot of other issues that I will list but a ski resort not having hot water is unacceptable. Let's look at some other things. Attached are pictures of the drawers. Would you put your clothes in here? We booked a place that's supposed to have kitchen facilities. The kitchen facilities consisted of a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. The layout prevents access from one side of the bed. Vacasa is also useless. Before we checked in on February 11th, they sent a million notifications with useless information and incorrect information. They have been useless in getting anything rectified. They keep saying the right tickets but I don't know what the tickets are for.. because there's never anything that happens from them. Not that this matters, but the decor is circa 1976. When we came in yesterday, the door to the closet was hanging loose. To their credit someone came immediately and fixed it. Perhaps I would have been better off in a hostel! There were other minor issues but why would anyone want to come to a place where they don't have hot water to take a shower

Please note that 104 does not mean first floor. You literally are on the bottom floor and have to climb the three flights every trip (in addition to the flight of stairs to the parking lot). Our space was sufficient for what we needed. It was pet friendly for our daughter's puppy. She had indicated that they were bringing the puppy but apparently it did not get into the notes or on the booking. Either way, the maid service did not come but once and never came again when they realized that the puppy was in her crate. The water in the kitchen never got warm for washing dishes. The beds were adequate for a condominium. I always pull back the bedding when I arrive to a location. The sheets had apparently been washed with something that had black lint in it. There was black balls of lint all over the bedding. You can imagine the concern we had until examination closer. The yellow warning tapes were on the deck due to the snow that was accumulated on deck. Going up and down steps outside the building were difficult. View from the room was good, but so much snow piled up that you had to go outside to really see the mountains. The biggest plus to the San Moritz was the shuttle service to town. It was only a phone call away. We did not have to wait more than 15-minutes. If they were going to be longer than the time needed, they would tell you to call back.

I wanted to write this for those curious and wondering if it's worth staying at. In short, yes it was. Some of ya'll have never stayed a truly terrible ski resort and it shows. This was one of the better ski resorts we stayed out hands down. Kitchenette: Lovely and perfect for us as we wanted to bring a bunch of food and avoid eating at the resort itself ($11 pretzels and the sort). Our pantry contained: dish soap, dish washer with 2 dishwashing pods, 1 pot, 1 pan, utensils, paper towel, plates, a mini fridge that actually held quite a bit, a dish rag and items for coffee along with the coffee maker. I'm making this list as I was curious prior to coming. There was a knife, but no cutting board, nor was there any kind of measuring spoons or cups in case you plan on making anything more involved. For us, it was pretty perfect with lots of extra space to store snacks. I do wish I brought along a little sponge and a small tupperware for leftovers. Bathroom: The water pressure wasn't terrible but the water wasn't hot until we spoke with the front desk. Apparently, they pushed a magic button because the next time we showered it was a lot warmer, but still not super hot. The toiletries are all large in size and will last you more than your time here. Also, extra points for the huge bottle of lotion which definitely helped with the dry skin. Bed: The bed itself is more on the firm side, which I usually prefer, but it still hurt my back every day. This was pretty much the biggest complaint I would have. Amenities and Etc: The hot tub is lovely but gets really crowded. And despite the warning signs, there are definitely little yelling screaming kids as well as frat guys getting day drunk playing music on their phones for all to hear. However, if you can get here at the perfect time when the crowd has thinned out, it'll feel so good on your muscles and you'll be glad you brought your swimsuits. Room overall: Although it wasn't perfect, our room was very homey and extremely comfortable. For our entire day here we had nothing but really great service. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the ski lifts. Also, really loved the ski valet. No more lugging skis and snowboards to the room.

Each, "magic carpet" has a slightly different angle allowing your little one (or big one) to progress safely. I would say this is a place where you come to enjoy a beautiful, compact mountain town with great possibilities for skiing. There are so many options to test yourself and try something a bi more challenging without having to work your way across miles of lifts and hiking. Granted, lifts are probably some o the slowest I have experienced in the Rockies but, tolerable due to exhaustion from some great runs. You honestly could ski just about any terrain possible here really letting yourself progress into a more capable skier and have a lot of fun. I will absolutely be back!
