So they're lying to try to make customers upgrade for an unnecessary cost. They should be embarrassed. It was super easy to check in and they were kind enough to let us check in early (11:45am) They do offer cabin rentals, RV sites and tent sites. Our Site: We got a tent site and it was pretty big. A bit bigger than the rest and it was perfect for our party of 4. You can only bring one tent and it has to be on the tent pad so extra tents or any tents placed other than the tent pad are not allowed. Which was a huge bummer. We were 2 couples with 2 tents and had to purchase a bigger tent to fit all of us in it to fit on the pad. All in all we made it work. Parking: You have to register all vehicles that are staying in the campsite and only one car is allowed per site, which is somewhat of an inconvenience. Any extra vehicles are $5 more. We were told to park the extra vehicle in the extra parking spaces that were far away from our site. Bathrooms and Showers: They only have Male and Female bathrooms and showers an no gender neutral bathrooms or showers, so it can be very uncomfortable for masculine presenting women to go to the bathroom. They did say they had just remodeled the entire place so they completely missed the opportunity to be more inclusive. However, the bathrooms were very clean, and the showers were really nice. We did bring our own bathroom tent to avoid any type of uncomfortable encounters when having to use the little girls room and were told we could not have it bc they were trying to grow grass and any bodily fluids would be harmful to the soil. So we had to put our toilet away :( Each site has a fire pit and the camp ground offers wifi and a little convenient store. They do come around every other hour or so on their golf-cars selling fire wood and making sure everyone is following the rules. I honestly loved this place and would come back. The town's nearby are gorgeous and the staff here is super nice.

The manager, Logan was so nice. He helped us out with an awkward situation re a neighbor's bright light, and he handled it very diplomatically. The one thing that disappointedly me was the laundry room and its facilities. $2.50 per SMALL washer (there were 3), and $1.50 per dryer (there were 4). The room seemed dirty, the dryers seemed dirty. The whole room needs some attention and love. I don't think we'll be traveling thru Glenwood Springs again, but you never know .... if we do, we'll be sure to reserve a campsite at Elk Creek Campground!

Ami's Acres - Glamping-adjacent with good vibes and surprise mirrors…read more This spot has everything you need to camp comfortably--and maybe a few things you don't expect, like giant bathroom mirrors big enough to check your aura. (Which is hilarious, because I left my makeup and vanity at home with my dignity. Just here to wash my face and vibe with the trees, thanks.) Ladies' bathroom: surprisingly solid. Two toilets, two shower stalls with hooks galore (finally, somewhere to hang the 57 things I bring into a shower). A bench for your stuff = chef's kiss. Double sink setup outside the stalls is a bonus. I didn't expect to have better lighting here than in my actual house. Campsite: long, shaded, and solar panel-friendly. No picnic table, which I did pout about for 30 seconds until I realized I never sit at them anyway. Full hook-ups for those of us who like our nature with a side of electricity. ‍ Staff was great--we got a friendly check-in call around 10am and were offered a personal site tour near Tractor Supply (iconic). Husband backed us in like a pro, no stress. Gold star to him. No individual fire pits at RV sites, which we get--it's dry enough to ignite a marshmallow by looking at it wrong. Communal pits by the office if you're feeling social or want to channel your inner cowboy. There are some long-term residents, which wasn't an issue, but might be nice to have visitors grouped separately--just for the ambiance. Birds and nature sounds = A+. Trains and road noise = present, but meh. By the time we hit the sack, we're toast anyway. Camping sleep hits different.

Nice large site at end of 61-65 "branch". Ground is "solid" (seems to be a Colorado thing); recommend a free-standing tent. Did manage to get a few stakes in to help with tent fly, but it might have been tough if i needed stakes to keep the tent up. Easy walk to nice bathhouse/hot showers (no coins or tokens needed!)/flush toilets. Well-maintained port-a-potty on the 61-65 "branch" in case someone wants a nearby option (eg, at night). Can hear the highway, but i didn't find this to be a big problem. Didn't even notice it while sleeping in the back of my SUV. One note: plan to get here in daylight! Traffic was awful out of Denver, and i arrived at 9:30pm. Decided to park near office and walk with flashlight to find my site. Not easy to drive to find it in the vehicle! Owners very nice! Called me at 7pm to tell me my site #; no problem checking in the next morning. I will definitely use this campground again!

Even if you were next to the few sites that are next to the river the noise doesn't change. You could pull off on I-70 and get better rest and relaxation. I live on 5.5 acres in the Black Forest and realized I could RV better on my own property. Really a pity to waste the money and time to camp here. Life is too short. Had a mallet stolen from the RV as well. KOA workers are OK, but I wouldn't say inviting and warm. Carbondale is wonderful and the town and businesses there are great. That was the only upside.

Because of Patti we will never return to this KOA nor will we recommend it and our other reviews…read morewill reflect that. As a matter of fact, the owners will know too. Patti is very brash and rude in how she speaks to people! We didn't get in good when she snapped at us about having a dog in the office (ironically, we saw hers in the office as we checked out). Later, we were yelled at and treated like 5 year old's when she told us about burning in the fire pit. Yelled at like 5 year old's!!! What sane adult does that??? In regards to her comment to me in an email about fire "notices", no, there were no notices posted anywhere nor did "one of your employees come to the cabins and post notices". I know, I was there, all day, every day! NOTHING was posted on the door or window anywhere. After reading other reviews from previous tenants, Patti obviously does not know how to deal with people in an adult-like and respectful manner. In regards to Patti, I suggest...#1, she take several classes on customer service or #2, she needs to find another job that doesn't deal with people!!! The "manager" position does not work for her.

If you paddle across the lake (SUP or kayak - no motorized water craft) you get a stunning view of the Ruby Range. (No Ruby Range photos since I didn't bring my waterproof phone case this trip). The lake is dammed and is filled with snow runoff. Even in midJuly, the water was COLD. No chance in h e l l I was going to let myself fall off that SUP! We have no problem with the other site that they put it now just be aware ! The owners are sooo kind. I had a work package mailed there by mistake and they didn't mind and held it for me! Yes, they do have a lot of signs about where your pet can and cannot go, I would say if you plan on having your dog run around this is not the place for you. Not Exactly "Paradise" We've been on the road for 6 weeks…read moreand were looking forward to a relaxing stay near Crested Butte - a town known for being dog-friendly. Unfortunately, this RV park didn't match the vibe at all. For a place labeled as a resort, it's located in an industrial park and bombarded with "NO" signs - no this, no that - which set a very negative tone from the start. Surprisingly, the owner also runs a dog grooming business, but the park itself didn't feel welcoming to dog owners. That was a real letdown. The positives: the views are great, and each site has water and electric hookups. However, there's no on-site sewer -- you'll need to go into town to dump. There's just one bathroom and shower per gender, though they were clean and well-kept. Overall, it's adequate if you're just looking for a place to park in a beautiful area. But for dog owners or anyone looking for a truly friendly, "resort-like" experience - you might want to keep looking.
