I was really nervous to ride Silver airways because of the reviews but we honestly didn't have a choice since we were attending a wedding and there were no other options to KW. I will say that their website to check-in was loading slow. However, our experience was pleasant and I would absolutely fly with them again. For example, it was POURING (I'm talking raining cats and dogs outside) and they gave all of us an umbrella to walk to the plane as well as held out our umbrellas while we walked onto the plane so none of us would get wet. Flight attendees were friendly and the places were clean. Additionally, we had to call to get my TSA added and customer service was nice as well. I will say that their airplanes open from the back, not the front like other airlines so you will want to choose a seat in the back to get off early. read more

We booked a flight from Key West to Tampa which should have departed at 6:00. Got a notification they changed the time to 6:45p ok no sweat. Got there two hours early. We were set to board at 6:15p. 6:30 comes and there is no one at the desk to speak with. They didn't say anything to the passengers until we got to board an hour after we should have left. They didn't explain why the flight was late. I would have been ok if some said we're having mechanical issues. But left in the dark to fume. Agent at counter put the wrong bag tag on my luggage, after waiting in Orlando trying to g to find my bag for 2.45 hours, I located an employee from Silver Airways, she tried to help, completed report, GOOD LUCK getting g support after any incidents. never have I ever thought I would be stuck on a plane, in the middle of the tarmac for over an hour, to have the pilot come over the intercom system on the plane to tell the passengers to close their window shades to "cool the cabin down." not once did the pilot say what the issue was and why we were stuck on the tarmac for an hour. The pilot after an hour waiting had everyone deboard the plane, we were then told that the flight has been canceled with no reason guve to us, this is unheard of and absurd if I could give 0 stars or even a negative star I still don't believe it would do this experience any justice into how much of a sh*t show this entire ordeal was. I had to rent a car drive 3 hours to Miami with no voucher or discount for the rental, to at least lessen the burden this halfa**ed airline lapse in communication. I have family at home and a job that I am now afraid of getting a disciplinary sanction against me because plane available is tomorrow at 7am. I tried to call the help desk to get some kind of information I received their recording which said their hours of operation were 9am-6pm.... my flight from key west was a 3:20pm, we had no information given to us about the delay or cancellation until about 6:30pm, so if you are flying with the sh*t show airline i would recommend walking from what ever airport you are going to instead of flying with them. thank your for nothing. read more

Gave them a second shot after flying with them once before, which wasn't great and booked a flight for my daughter to join us in Key West out of Orlando. She woke up day of flight to an email saying flight was delayed. Then 3 hours later flight was cancelled. Then they emailed again and "sorry for the confusion, the flight is back on at original departure time." Got to the airport and they cancelled the flight. Completely incompetent! Ruined her trip. Cost me a night in the hotel too. Took 2 days to even get someone on the phone to refund the ticket. Don't do it. read more

In addition, one of their ticketing agents bragged online that he liked causing people to spend extra time and money to drive home from their destination, if he perceived them to be rude. We had the nightmare experience of dealing with Silver on our flight down and back to Key West and honestly I'm traumatized. Both flights were delayed by an hour and a half, making us miss our connecting flight home with no apologies from the airline or staff. We got dropped off at a different gate than we were supposed to be at and instead of having someone direct us through the door that lead back into the airport they allowed us to make our way to customs and get detained making us even later than we already were. We missed our connecting flight into RDU and getting that trip rebooked was a freaking nightmare. Staff did not offer any apologies or vouchers or anything like that. We all followed the directives and soon boarded a mechanically sound small but clean jet The Keys has a cute small airport and Silver is there at their single manned podium The small in stature young appearing employee gave directions out as commands He advised all persons with mobile boarding passes that they needed to come up to him for paper boarding passes. The three or more employees at front desk at baggage and initial check in could have posted something on a board Or the web site boasting mobile check in or the last few days could have updated the site with an alert We will be boarding through the rear he commanded and first will be persons in seats 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. Yep he spoke to the group as if many of us perhaps were unable to count. Or he was implying more likely he was snappish and would scold any seat jumpers !*^#. He gave instructions and I was unaware if he meant now The support number is always busy and I was charged for seats and my friends were not. I was told it depends. BUT. After booking a flight eleven months in advance, I attempted to check in for a return flight online the day before, but they don't allow online check in. I was booted from the flight for being the last person to physically check in at the airport because it was oversold. This is an INSANE policy. After waiting in a line for THREE HOURS at the gate agent kiosk I was put in a hotel for the night and received a small voucher for future travel (which I will be throwing away). Never again. The next day (back to the airport, back through security, back in line, missing Easter with my family) the replacement flight was delayed for four hours for a mechanical error. I'm finally on it now...these could be my last words. I understand air travel is fussy and often problematic but this is next level incompetence. So many times my flights have been Late or Canceled. The last time I purchased a round trip ticket. Day before my flight a friend asked my to drive with her, she did not want to drive alone. I would use my return ticket to fly home. I attempted to cancel my flight there twice by phone. Well that's impossible .. after too dam long on hold I gave up . After all I did pay for the flight ! The day before my return home I attempted to check in on line ... it didn't work . The morning of my afternoon flight I tried over and over to check in . I called and of course was put on hold. Finally it was time to leave for the airport I was still on hold. Two hours and 40 minutes later I got there was told MY RETURN TICKET WAS CANCELED because I didn't use my flight there. Customer service is awful. Boards with times no updated and most of the people working don't care that you are delayed or cancelled. I have just had the worst experience I have ever had with an Airline. Silver airline is just ridiculous. It started off when I got to the airport for Silver Airlines to find out my flight was delayed for 4 1/2 hours. That was okay as delays happen. So I went to an airport restaurant to order breakfast. I got up to check the status again only to find out that the flight now was on time and needed to rush to the gate; so paid for breakfast that I couldn't even eat. There was absolutely no announcement of this change. Next it gets much worse. When I got to the airport on my returning flight; I found out my flight was cancelled. They said they didn't know why. Come to find out that there was only 8 people on that flight; so clearly that was the reason for the cancellation. Next they had no flights at all going to my destination and couldn't book me with any other airlines. The solution was to put all 8 of us in Taxis for a 5 hour taxi ride to our destination. I can't tell you how upset we all are. To top it off Silver airlines said they would not refund my money for the cancellation Sur to the fact I booked it through a third party. This airline is a joke and I will never ever use them again. I would suggest that no one uses them and hope they go got of business permanently. read more

Terrible service !! Myself along with 6 others were flying out of Key West Monday afternoon to Orlando. We boarded last and there was no more space in the overhead compartments. Two of us Bill Marusko and myself held our carry ons on our laps, flight attendant said we couldn't do this , we then put them on the floor. Once again couldn't this at this point we asked where we could put them? The attendant told to get off the plane and check our bags. When we tried to do this he closed the door and he told the staff inside the terminal that we were being uncooperative and could not board!!! We eventually made it Orlando by way of Tampa but we missed our flight to Pittsburgh!! The attendant should be fired !!! read more

Awful experience. We had our connection from Orlando to Key West cancelled and they put 9 passengers on a 10 passenger shuttle van and drove us 4 hours to key west airport. Most uncomfortable trip. Driver never said a word and just dropped us at the airport. No apologies and no offer to compensate us for the inconvenience. On the return the flight out was delayed over almost 2 hours. This is the last time we fly Silver into Key West. We'll drive the 4 hours ourselves and at least know we'll get there at a certain time. read more

The worst ran airline I have ever flown on. Flew from Tampa to Key West with my lady friend. They lost my luggage on the way down there and the worst part is the lack of concern on their part. First when we landed no one was at the lost luggage counter. It took 30 minutes to talk to someone and make a claim. Then 2 1/2 hours later called to say they found the bags and would get them to the hotel in a few hours. I asked for a more specific time as I was on vacation and she said "she did not have time to argue she had to go to her other job" finally got that bag delivered to the wrong hotel and I walked to it to get my bag. On the way back there were 36 seats on the plane. Only 4 bags made it. Really! Only 4 bags made it. Most of the plane passengers were at the lost luggage counter. This airline is TERRIBLE. Gate agent in Tampa could only say we will bring your bag to you once we find it! I could care less about you bringing my bag to me - my issue is that you cannot even locate it! I wish I could rate them -1000000000000 First they lost our bags on the way in to Key West. Then the bag guy left for 45 minutes "looking for them" until I had to get key west PD to find him which is when I was told the gate agents forgot to put the baggage on the plane. That was just the arrival!! When we left to come home our plane had an engine malfunction. 45 minutes on a no AC plane later (2 toddlers and an infant with us) we were deplaned and waiting 3 hours before it was fixed. Thankfully, the gate agent said she had found us a new route home though. When we got to Ft. Lauderdale, the Delta agent said Silver had screwed up the reservation and we couldn't get tickets until Silver fixed it. 4 hours and 6 missed flights later Delta was finally able to fix Silver's screw up. We set up shop at the Delta counter and they helped us make bottles and gave coloring books for our kids to keep them from melting down. A Delta agent had to physically leave the terminal to go argue with Silver at a different terminal for us. Delta now has a fan for LIFE. The Silver agents we dealt with all had the dead in the eyes look of people who are yelled at constantly all day long. Oh yea, they lost my brother's luggage on the way home too! It was a miserable day thanks to a miserable airline. One google search shows hundreds of one star reviews like mine. I wish I had seen them sooner....We paid $4000 to be treated like this.... Horrible. We landed and they took an hour and a half to put our bags on the belt. (The airport is the size of a small parking lot). On our way home we were delayed 3 hours. They said they didn't have enough people working. Seems like they don't mind wasting their customer's time to save money on employees. Once we boarded the plane smelled like body odor and was dirty. This is quite possibly the worst airline in the history of aviation. Where should I begin? Well, if you fly with Silver airways, do not expect that your flight will leave on time or even at all. Key West has crazy weather, I get it. Stuff happens. However, Silver Airways will not tell you anything about changes to your flight. My husband and I showed up to the airport and our flight was completely cancelled! We received no prior notification, no email, no call, nothing. Of course, this was also happened as thousands of Key Westerners were getting out of dodge for HURRICANE IRMA! To say that their customer service is lack luster, is an incredible understatement. We had to remind them that when an airline cancels your flight due to "mechanical" issues, it is up to that individual airline to find you an alternate means to your final destination. They were not happy about helping us. We got a lot of attitude for an inconvenience they caused. We had similar help on our way to Key West when she asked a female employee for a pen at our gate. She said "there's only one pen and it's holding my hair up" and proceeded to waddle away to a partition behind the gate. She literally hid from everyone to avoid doing work. We had more issues with this woman, but I am saving those details for Silver's customer service. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra cash to fly on AA or United to Key West. Silver Airline paints this "high end" image of themselves and claims to have brand new planes. They don't.
