Robert the Doll tour on 07.17.26. I did only the 1 hour tour without the VIP investigation. It was about as expected. I wanted to see Robert and I did. The tour guide did a great job with history and a quick tour of the fort and talking about Robert. I learned a lot in a short amount of time about Robert and the Fort. I recommend doing this tour! I appreciate that David followed up with me on my initial review regarding communication emails. He was able to show me that it was a typo on my end in a very professional manner. Thank you! read more

This Ghost Hunt is more of a Ghost Stunt where the tour guide equips you with ghost hunting equipment (2 dowsing rods which apparently find water and death). The tour was interesting from the standpoint of learning the history of some interesting deaths and murders around the streets of downtown. But the small group of people wandering around like lemmings watching their rods spin around randomly was a distraction in my opinion. Ted, our tour guide, told interesting stories of the history of the island, military tales, the history of some of the bars and murders in said bars and Robert the Doll. Apparently David Sloan (local expert scribe on all things Key West) used to run the tour but began another tour specific to Robert the Doll at the Fort and handed the reigns off to Ted. Ted was accommodating when the normal venue they operate from was closed for a private event, he made sure to work with other businesses to have restrooms available before the tour. Excellent job! There are a number of Ghost Tours in the City and this one was a fun night out. Lots of history, seeing some cool buildings including the Masonic Temple, and a friendly tour guide make for a great way to spend 90+ minutes on a Key West evening. read more

Last night my brave, and adventurous 8 year old daughter and I went on the 10:00 Ghost tour/hunt and I still can't believe what we experienced!!! Our evening started off with the staff giving us equipment that could detect the temperature( which is important because a drop in temperature indicates paranormal activity), and an EMF reader with detailed instructions on how to use each machine and reminders not to blind anyone with the laser. Duh. Or point it in the sky since FAA frowns upon this for obvious reasons. Believe it or not, but we actually discovered orbs at the very first place we went to! I, and the woman standing next to me, started taking pictures of the building and while scrolling through we noticed her pics, taken mere seconds after mine, showed several orbs! Our kids also picked up a huge drop in temperature in the same location as the orbs! read more

Ted gave a fantastic tour! We had a wonderful time learning about some of Key West's spookiest history. The tour was interactive and the perfect pace and length. Highly recommend to anyone who loves history or ghost tours! read more

We had never considered a ghost hunting adventure until we heard a vendors' presentation at the Hyatt Windward Pointe. Time, place, and price were right so off we went on a warm, but pleasant evening. A bonus was that, being mid-December, many of the buildings and homes were decorated with Christmas lights. Our guide Kevin was a great storyteller and kept us well entertained during the 90-minute walking tour through Old Town Key West. The walking was easy ... we got up to an elevation of 14 feet per Kevin. (Or maybe 16 feet!) I especially liked the stop at the brick walls of the Hemingway House where several cats appeared. They were obviously expecting Kevin's little cat treats. We ended the evening in a small room of the Viva Saloon for the last ghost story. It was a welcome chance to sit down there as well as earlier at the lighthouse where there was a picnic bench. A fun way to learn more about the characters who have contributed to the history of Key West. Even if you are a skeptic, you won't be disappointed. read more

To be completely honest the fourth star was purely because of customer service. I had inadvertently punched in the wrong dates for my Key West trip when booking they were kind enough to switch my tour to the correct date with very little effort on my part. The woman working check-in was very friendly and helpful, got me checked in, gave me my ghost hunting equipment and directed me to nearby bathrooms and the bar. The tour itself is probably a three, not for any lack of trying on Kevin's part. He is an excellent, entertaining guide, knowledgeable about the history of Key West and a great storyteller. The 'ghost hunt' was more lore of the odd and creepy, with nearly 20 of us in the group I don't know that I saw one of the 'energy detectors' blink and I didn't hear anyone comment on seeing temperature changes from the digital thermometers. Maybe it was just a quiet night. At the end of the day, it is a nice night out in Key West, you learn a lot of history, meet some nice people, and for the price, it is still a great value. read more

So much fun, if you like history and ghost stories this is for you. Very charming tour. I enjoyed myself a lot! Great for teenagers too. They meet at 9:30 pm and it ends at 11pm. The staff are very professional and courteous. You should find a promo code on the website when you book the tour and you can even pre-add the tour guide gratuity. Very convenient. read more

We really enjoyed the walking tour! Our stops included Viva Saloon, the Lighthouse, a church, Bahama Village, and more. Much of the tour was spent going over the history behind these Key West landmarks with some paranormal/"haunted" stories thrown in. It was informative and easygoing. Our tour guide used to be (or maybe he still is) a school teacher and that gave him a relaxed persona throughout. At the end of the tour, you're given a small token to remember the tour. The price was right and it was something different! Sloan offers several different packages and tour routes that we'd like to try next time in Key West! read more

Honestly, this experience was a waste of time. Take dinner cruise. You like ghost stories, go to a camp fire. You literally walk through downtown listen to him tell you a story of who lived in the house and he may show you a picture of who lived there. When he told the young kids to behave themselves (and they were not doing anything) I kinda said okay this is BS. So honestly, my friends and I didn't finish the "Hunt" because it was incredibly boring, no real history. Do not waste your time. The price is fine, but it's the time you will loose while in Key West that you will never get back. read more

I had an awesome time with my friends during our ghost tour. We went to the 7:30p tour around the island to hear stories. It was a 90 min walk and about 6 blocks around, not that far at all. Our guide Kevin was so great, he was informative, funny and the stories were light hearted and a little spooky too. We ended in an actual room where ghosts believed to be in, and the rest were stops were ghosts had been sighted. This was perfect from me because the sun was setting right when we started so it wasn't to scary and we were messing with any ghosts or disturbing resting places, etc. Kevin answered any questions we had and even told us about other stories that weren't on the tour. I would definitely do this again and would totally recommend to anybody! read more

We had a blast on the Sloan Ghost Hunt! Our Guide to the Other Side was very entertaining and captivating, and unlike some of the other tours in Key West you get to tour on foot, which allows you time to take in the experiences and explore more. Sloan's Ghost Hunt provides tools and devices specific to ghost hunting. This was definitely original nor was it offered by any other group to my knowledge. It provides a more interactive experience with the spirits and with one another. We received signals and got to hear voices whispering to us over a spirit box. Chills racing up everyone's arms, we meandered through the streets, everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. Our host, as mentioned before, was quite the character and very informative. His knowledge of the area and its history is quite unparalleled. After doing some research on him, I came to found out he in fact started the first ghost hunt in Key West! All in all...a joy and something lovely and different to do. read more

Sloan's Key West Ghost Hunt - Ghost hunting - Tours Near Me - Key West, Florida

Ok, I was trying to think of a nice way to put this but basically I'm just going to have to call Bullshit. I've been on multiple ghost tours in different states. They all had one thing in common. I learned a lot of history about the location I was in for the tour. I feel like I got very little of even the history of Key West. The EMF indicator, the crying baby doll, pointing a laser 7 stories above the street and being surprised that it's colder and finally the AM radio that was supposed to speak to us but really just seemed a lot like a way to waste time. I'm sure everyone gets a different experience but mine was not good. At least provide more history on the city your taking us through. Lastly, our guide was very friendly. read more

Fascinating ghost hunters tour to some of Key West's most notorious paranormal hotspots. Great storytelling and history. We were given various devices to hunt for & spot spirits. Even the most skeptical may reconsider the existence of spirits. Great tour. read more

I literally could not stop laughing. This has to be the most idiotic tour ever! Our tour guide was not anyone you could take seriously and there was an older lady who thought she knew it all in our group. Probably a paid patron. She was a joke too. Please please please don't waste your money on this bullshit. It's all utter nonsense and not worth the swamp ass you get while walking around being told made up ludicrous so called ghost stores. read more

Worst "tour" - or whatever you want to call it - I've ever been on. Complete waste of money. Dumb, unfunny jokes, drunken idiots on the tour that the guide did nothing about, boring stories. Just...bad. UPDATE: I complained to the owner, Michael and he was extremely professional and courteous; he refunded my money immediately and apologized for the poor experience. Makes me want to perhaps give it another try, as maybe my experience was no typical. read more

The tour was informative and fun! We had a good time and our guide was really nice. It's nice to have a different experience on a ghost tour -- different from the overly theatrical tours in the area which I also found fun. I recommend the tour for a more intimate good time with a guide. I should also mention that they were the best customer service I experienced of any that I encountered while booking! Total A+! That being said, being a ghost hunt, I thought they would be a little more scientific with the "evidence" produced, so take the "orbs" and "EMF hits" with a very critical eye and huge grain of salt. Don't bother trying to debunk any suspected "evidence" or question methods. "Unbelievers" are blamed for lack of spiritual communication. read more

Such a GREAT tour! Our guide Kevin was awesome, very personable and was really invested in our experience. Kevin has a great way of keeping the ghost stories fun, but still spooky! The ending of the tour was absolutely awesome. Had some awesome encounters. Highly recommend this tour! read more

This is a great tour! Kevin was super cool, funny, interesting & informative. It's really well researched, too. Having lived in Key West for 20yrs, I thought I'd be bored, but I actually, learned a lot of cool facts about Key West & it's creepy history! Von Costle- what?! Wow. If you're looking for something cool to do, this is it! Thanks, you guys! read more

If I could give it a negative i would. This was honestly the worst, dumbest, most assinign experience I have ever done in my entire life. I have traveled the world extensively for 40 years and can't believe this company actually is in business. I'd rather have my teeth pulled without Novocain that do this again. Absolutely pathetic!! And a complete waste of time and money. read more

This tour was recommended by our B&B. Should have went on the trolly ghost tour. David Sloan graced us with his presence, and it was clear he was the most important person in the group. Oh, and because he was in a "good mood" he told us he'd give us copies of his book after we'd finished the excruciatingly boating trip. 4 people bailed during the trip. We were also going to bail at our last stop at the oldest house in Key West, but soon found out we were locked in! I understand it was a historic site, and I'm sure agreements have been made by the organizations. However, seems it would be responsible to let your guests know. Given we were locked in and didn't want to be rude to the guide, we suffered through the rest. Spend your $30 somewhere else. read more

We had been on a few ghost tours in different cities , but we had never done one like this. Instead of just listening to the guide tell stories and stand in front of locations, you actually have the opportunity to take an active roll in the hunt. They give you equipment to investigate on your own. Kevin our guide was very nice and did a great job. The Masonic lodge and his use of spirit box to communicate with the spirits was interesting as well. read more

Very informative and entertaining! A walking and drinking tour of Key West's haunted spots? How can you go wrong! Our Guide Kevin was awesome, not only did he have the haunted history of Key West down cold, he had a very deep knowledge of general Key West history (he used to be a history teacher). Kevin took us to places that were little off of the normal touristy tracks -- some really cool bars and easting establishments that we probably never would've found. The tour of the Key West Rum Distillery was very informative and the rum was excellent! read more

Had a great time! Our tour guide Eddie was great! It's different than any other tour. I love that it's interactive!

Actual worst thing ever wouldn't even call it a tour it was standing around listening to some unfunny tour guide talk about ghost stories and make uncomfortable jokes with no purpose and would keep rambling on for a good hour. The stories were not even ghost stories but actually just stories about dead bodies not even spirits, very irrelevant. and be expected for it to run late because most of it is the tour guide trying to be funny. you are not funny . sorry. they try to act like everything is real even if you try to leave early and they force you to perform a weird "cleanse"... please just let us leave. tried to stay the whole time but it was so awful and ran so long that we had to leave. SO BORING SO OVERPRICED A SCAM the majority of the good reviews were clearly written by the workers because i do not understand who could possibly enjoy this tour and give it more than 1 star. read more

While we didn't get much supernatural activity, this was still a fun tour. Ray was our tour guide and was informative and entertaining. So we decided to give a try for the ghost tour. It was 90 minutes long, but it felt like 5 minutes at the most. Very informative and entertaining host. We have been on several ghost tours and really enjoy the energy of the group and learning the history. Our tour guide was not a great story teller and there was entirely too many people on the tour. It was difficult to hear the stories and the group was all irritated. We did not see anything other than the back of someone's head most of the tour. We left feeling undervalued as a consumer. Several people either left the tour early or asked to leave. Not a great experience with Brianna. read more

I have done haunted tours in several cities including London, New Orleans and Baltimore. This tour was by far the worst. The stories were not believable or even true. They all started with "one time on our tour someone took a picture with a spirit" then he showed us a picture from the early 1900s. He made fun of my friends wife-called her greasy. Despite being true it was mean. I would recommend being highly intoxicated if u do this tour read more

Purchased this tour "night of" after reviewing and researching the two other haunted Key West Tours. My party and I had an absolute blast, laughing a lot while also learning quite a bit of history. The guide was cogent and funny with the facts, which I liked. Will definitely recommend and even make it a must see when brining guests to Key West.
