CalvertHealth Primary Care is more concerned about the bottom line than actually helping their patients; they want to get you in and out and move on to the next patient. If helping the patient is time consuming or costly or not necessarily routine, then this practice does not want to help you. Go elsewhere if you want someone to listen to you and actually think about proper treatment and actually spend the time to make sure you are in the best of health. If you want a practice that will consult with and listen to experts in specific fields, then find another practice. I am searching for something positive that I can say about this practice .... I've never waited too long; with most of my appointments they've kept me waiting less than 15 minutes before bringing me back to a waiting room.

After the nurse took my vitals and examined my arm we were sent to the waiting room to wait 30 minutes more and never got the shot. After reminding the receptionist we were waiting we were seated in the examination room waiting for an additional 1 hour without being seen by a doctor. My wife asked a nurse about the doctor and slow service the nurse told her " if you don't like the service here you can leave " in an insulting manner . We left and got my tetanus shot at a grocery store pharmacy without having to wait. Other patients with young children with fevers , etc also spent a long time to be seen. Dr. Houston not only treats…read moreyour pain, but he actually does everything he can to pinpoint the cause of it so that he can correct the problem at the source. His office staff, and the staff at the surgical center where he does the injections, are so friendly that I remark on it every time I see them. I was told last week by one of the nurses that the reason everyone is so friendly is that Dr. Houston makes working for him a joy, that they actually enjoy going to work every day. And, it shows. He WILL find the cause of my pain, and I have every confidence that he'll do his part to fix it. If you are looking for a doctor who's just going to write you scripts, he is not the doctor for you. He's ethical and by the book. He's not afraid to prescribe meds that help, but if that's all you're looking for then you should find another doctor because he is going to require you to take part in your treatment. I am so glad I found him and will recommend him to anyone who needs a great doctor. If you do your part, he will do his. He is a Godsend!
