Well i can't tell you how the food is. But the welcome was less than great. We were in Sullivan to visit my dads grave and decided to stop by the Silo. As we had seen it when in town before. It happen to be Sunday afternoon. We stood by the "wait to be seated sign". Ignored by the first person that saw us. Then a young man came out as the first person whispered to him. First he was like how many. I replied 2. He proceeded to grab two menus and then turned to us and said, we close at 3, do you want yo be seated? I said yes, then he said "i'll have to see if we have a table open". We felt very unwelcome and left. I realize it was late, which we didnt know because we had not been there before, but feel they could have just said we don't seat after a certain time instead of making us feel so unwelcome. Bummer! read more

For a buffet the food was fresh and tasted homemade. Plenty of hot selection with a nice slad bar. Barn/farmhouse look with nice decor. Very clean with nice service. read more

Asked waiter to make sure my baked potato was hot enough to melt the cold butter.... nope wouldnt melt butter or cheese. Server never advised us of a up charge for bacon cheese and sour cream on the baked potato. Got to register to check out paid left a 5$ tip then realized my bill was wrong I was charged for an extra meal. When I brought it to my waiters attention a manager came out and supposedly fixed it but had not refund all the bill ( tip was still on there) but I had already signed the sec ticket. Salad bar was dirty had food all over it. this was our second trip and the second was just as bad as the first. Hard pass sad because I like trading local but would rather get order correct and bill accurate. read more

So I had already reviewed but it didn't save I guess. The atmosphere is very welcoming and so is the staff. Sherry was a delight and so kind with her recommendations. We had an appetizer of potato skins that were outstanding. I mean this set the mood. The presentation was up scale for a 'home style' steakhouse, of course we had to order steaks. Set at "market value" we were a bit afraid of the cost but please treat yourself. We found out the beef is locally sourced from Cuba, Missouri, and NEVER frozen. The sirloin my wife had was thick and melted in her mouth. My rib eye was also perfect and tender. There are so many other items to choose from and Sherry said their catfish is hand batter on site so we are looking forward to that next trip. Oh and the home made dinner rolls are a must. Please make t hi is a stop for a family treat (ice cream) or a special event like birthday or anniversary We enjoyed ourselves so much I forgot to take pics, my bad but again they don't skimp on the predation/ plating Totally exceeded expectations read more

The food and service overall were good. Ambiance is very casual. Not something to rave about, but it's a decent salad and hot bar if that's what you're looking for. read more

My husband and I went to Dinner at the Silo restaurant in Sullivan, MO, on Good Friday! Their salad bar was wonderful! Plenty of catfish, selection of Meats were included. Each was delicious and savory! The catfish was moist and flaky! It was a delightful dinner! Our waitress was Ashley. She did a terrific job. Anticipated our needs before we realized we needed it! We shall return and bring many more family members! read more

First time to this restaurant and I will not be returning nor would I recommend it ! So when we went there were several of us . One person's food came back burnt and another's food was dropped apparently, so they had to remake which wasn't a big deal until they brought it out and it was raw and doughy! When one of us went to ask for a manager to make a complaint the waitress was rude and went to the side where the person couldn't see or hear but the other people who were with them did she was making rude comments to another waitress about the person who had asked for the manager. read more

Okay, the salad bar was good. Lots of things to choose from, but no blue cheese dressing. The steak was very good, but everything else was just okay. The green beans were cold, the servings were a little on the small side. The restaurant looks very nice and clean. The wait staff was friendly, but they yell at each other from across the room. They say is next to the swinging kitchen doors so we couldn't have a conversation with waitresses coming in and out and loudly having conversations next to us. read more

We stopped on our way back into the St Louis area. It was about a 30 minute wait on a Saturday evening. Once seated we waited several minutes and weren't approached by a waiter or waitress, a table behind up was sat and got their drink order taken right away. I had to get up from the table to ask for a waitress to help us. She showed up but forgot her iPad to take the order on and had to leave again. We were a party of 6 and had her place our food and drink order at the same time. She had to come back to tell us they were out of baked potatoes on a Saturday before 7 PM the mashed potatoes were soup. They don't give you a spoon but it is the only way to eat their watery mess they call mashed potatoes. I had catfish blackened and it was undercooked. We got raw dough balls as rolls. The place is cute with the barn doors and fireplace but the service was shit and the food isn't much better. Save your time and money and find somewhere where you can get a descent meal. It was 14.00 for catfish. read more

The food is exceptional. The server was very attentive. The ambuance was bright and clean. The bathrooms are clean. The salad bar hed extensive choices. Dressing were not labeled although there were many to choose from. I will come back when in town again. read more

the food was delicious and fresh, service was excellent, everything was clean and above expectations. We have a picky eater in our family and he ate six pieces of fried chicken! This is our new must stop place to eat! read more

Beautiful building and nice people. The breakfast buffet was reminiscent of a free hotel breakfast. We shan't be returning.

Our waiter took our order for drinks and then completely forgot us! Party of same size seated after us received food, drinks and bill before we barely had our food order in. Food was subpar and salad bar was dirty. read more

We stopped in after a float trip and we were not disappointed. The staff was great and the food was delicious. (Thanks for being a great server, Matt!) Pleasant, clean, bright atmosphere. Really enjoyed our meal here. read more

Avoid this place. Other than the cool-looking building, there is no reason to waste your money on bland food and poor service. It's a remake of the former Du Kum Inn restaurant. They killed the historical restaurant name, slayed the good home-cooked vibe, and moved across the highway to get a bigger parking lot for I-44/Route 66 traffic. It seems the business lost a lot of the locals, mostly older folks, church-goers, and people who enjoyed seeing familiar faces on both sides of the counter. That's gone. Get your foodie kicks somewhere else on Route 66. There's nothing at the Silo to write home about. read more

Disappointing. We ordered the hot buffet hearing how much it offered. The food was not appealing at all. Look like left over garbage. The mashed potatoes were turning brown, hard and cracked, dried out. The gravy had skinned over like a quarter inch. The pot roast looked disgusting. I wouldn't even try it. Ended up taking chicken and garlic potatoes. The chicken was over cooked on the outside and under inside. The potatoes were dry. Salad bar looked just as bad. A real turn off. They need management to make sure someone keeps up on the food. It needs to be fresh. Not appearing that it sat out all night. Also need someone who can cook. read more

I took my family of 5 to eat. 4 of us got the buffet which was the best...5 different meats along with all the fixings for a very reasonable price. The one that ordered grilled shrimp was very satisfied with her dish. And my great grandson (14 months old) loved his grilled cheese and fries ! The service was was exceptionably awesome. Very nice waitress and I will be going back. GREAT JOB SILO! Vickie Monzyk. read more

We drove by this place so many times going to and from St. Louis and wondered about it so we finally stopped in today to check out the buffet and the "endless salad bar." The salad was ok. The buffet was much smaller than we expected. Fried chicken was decent but kinda dry. Meatloaf was so-so. Catfish was nasty. My husband looked at the buffet and decided to order off the menu instead and his burger smelled funny. My kid liked her burger. Fries were good. Really should change out the food once in a while instead of leaving it there until empty. I thought that was buffet rules. Very disappointing. Never going back. read more

So bad.....just so very bad. For the first time ever I could only palate the bread. Potatoes were old, my meat felt like cardboard smothered in artificial smoke and gravy. Just so very bad. read more

We had dinner with family. 5 adults. Salads were lots of field greens 1 or 2 halves of grape tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese and some croutons along with the dressing. Catfish was mushy, corn was old and tough, chicken was over fried, really dark and dry. The New York strip was OK pink in the center but a little dry. Roast beef, mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans were good. Philly cheesesteak and fries were good. Service was great. It's overpriced for the quality of the food. Won't be going back. read more

Breakfast weekend buffet. The chafers, if that is what is they are called that hold the buffet food. Everything is not warm enough. The fruit on the serving table was the best thing there. If you are going to offer cold pancakes and french toast it might help if you put the surup in the warmer things. The coffee tasted like water, just bitter. It is a toss up which was worse, the cold food or the aweful coffee that i could not drink. Staff needs training for the table the guest needs. We had to go ask someone else for sugar. The waitresses seemed to be looking above our heads. Just under 40 tax tip and all wishing we didnt get buffet. Wished id got orange juice. Does everyone go to counter to pay? Or do i just sit and wait? So, try the counter first. read more

If I could give this a 0 star review I would. The service was absolute trash. We had ordered food. I got the chicken ceaser wrap and my dad got a Philly. His Philly came out spicy when it said it wouldn't be spicy. He took one bite and couldn't eat it. The fries were okay though. The ceaser wrap had some weird sauce that wasn't ceaser dressing. Chicken was a little cold. The chips were great. The supposed 50+ item salad bar.. didn't even have the right amount of items. There was 8 different dressings. The atmosphere was pleasant. We had some server issues but all in all it was alright. Probably won't be back. read more

Great place to stop at after leaving Meramec Caverns. I got the fried shrimp basket and Philly cheesesteak. Both tasted super yummy and the portions were generous. The staff was great and very friendly, amazing service and experience overall. Definitely recommend! read more

The Food was not good. The service, well she tried. We had 13 people. Our bill was $300. That would have been fine for good food. When we finished eating we asked for rolls to eat with our butter and honey. They said they had none. They just kept bringing them out to all the tables around us but refused to bring us a couple more. Country fried steak was especially awful. Keep Driving. read more

Restaurant was nice. It's brand new. Service wasn't too bad besides they got both mine and my fiance's order both wrong. Her fries were missing. (No big loss lol but...) I was missing a whole 1/4 pound off patty off my burger and the lettuce tomato etc. She ordered the Three Little Pigs sandwich with fries. No fries were served with her plate. I ordered the Spicy Burger paid for extra meat was not served that and was missing most of the toppings for the burger. HERE IS THE DEAL! Even if they got everything right. The most important thing is WRONG. The literal quality of the food is substandard. Frozen burger patty etc. IT IS TERRIBLE QUALITY FOOD!!! The food will speak for itself. People won't go back after they eat it. (Most people) read more

The service was amazing. We had Ashley serve our entire club meeting for FCCLA. She informed us that she was alone, which was crazy because she had to handle our party and others in the restaurant. Even though she was alone, she did amazing, food came out fast, she was positive and friendly! She made sure we had our drinks refilled and even checked in on us a bunch!! She made our day and was so amazing! read more

My son ordered chicken Alfredo and he ended up getting raw chicken in his Alfredo and they didn't make it right. They have terrible service and management. I do not recommend this restaurant. It used to be due come in which was an old fashioned café that was really good and they changed it to a whole new restaurant and they said that it was going to be the same thing and now it's like any other steakhouse out there. It is not good at all. read more

My son who doesn't mind a chewy steak ordered a 12oz Ribeye cooked medium and although he tried his best to eat it it was waaaay too tough. He will have to feed it to the dog. He loves steak and has ordered it from every restaurant in the area that serves steak. This would be the toughest and worst steak around. The flavor was also not good. read more

First time at this restaurant and the calamari is nothing more than fancy fish sticks. Zucchini was decent however. My chicken club was missing the avocado and was definitely over-cooked and in extremely old oil... did not eat it at all. Seasoning on fries is not tasty and salad bar had so many missing items not worth making a second trip even if you wanted to... then we had to go up to the front to find our waitress to pay... no refills or follow up from the time our food was served... sickening read more

We were there 1/27/23 about 4 pm. We tried to order several different things and they were either out or unavailable. I then tried to order the Strawberry salad and was told that was seasonal. I suggested that they could go to Walmart and buy some strawberries IF they had it on the menu. This is the 2nd time we have tried to eat there in their new place. If you are not going to serve fried chicken, livers and onion rings you might as well lock the doors and quit. I have eaten at DU KUM INN for 50+ years and was always happy but no more. We are done speeding our money on what THEY want us to order. read more

I have eaten at the Silo several times and I can honestly say that each and every time, I have had a wonderful experience. Personally, the service I was given was above and beyond. The quality of food each time was exceptional, (though I am partial to the cheeseburger as well as the Flatbread, Delicious). Now, let's talk about quantity. Let's just say I am a big eater as my family will tell you and every time, I have been filled and satisfied! I would with out a doubt recommend the Silo for your next meal. read more

Horrible service. Horrible food. Place was disgusting. A lot of tables were still not cleaned the entire time we were there.

Salad bar was clean and fresh. Waitress provided good service. We will be back for the salad bar.

The waitress was awful. She took our drink orders and we could hardly get refills, we sat forever waiting to order, she brought wet dishes for the salad bar and said , all you have to do is wipe them off. She barley came to check if we needed anything and when she did she made excuses on why she didn't come back sooner. She forgot to bring us part of our food, she gave everyone the wrong plates, we all gave good cash tips, even though it was bad service , we all paid with our cards and one card a 20% tip was added after we signed our receipt and not shown as a tip. When she handed us all wrong receipts we started checking our bank apps and found the overcharged. When we approached management we were given the run around. So if you go there good luck and make sure you pay with cash. read more

Beautiful new building, clean and very nicely decorated - but little emphasis on food prep for our disappointing meal. Tough roast beef with instant mashed potatoes and bottom of the can broken pieces of green beans. Very disappointing & will not return read more

I have been here twice. First time food was overcooked and dry. Second time, my son in laws chicken was not cooked. It was completely pink inside. Other foods are just ok, nothing spectacular and I don't understand how this is classified as a steakhouse. It seems more home style. I did not intend to review until for a simple statement on Facebook that I don't eat here in a reply got me blocked completely from the fb page. read more

Was so excited to go to the new resturaunt. The big salad bar they advertise has all kinds of lettuce, not what I expected. No potato or pasta salad. My country fried steak was from frozen, it was obvious. I can buy it in the store myself. My husbands salmon was also from frozen. People can see the difference. And it was overcoooked. The prices are too high for what the food is. read more

Nice building with a large open area for seating at tables but the booths are rather small. I wouldn't suggest a booth for four people.
