I decided on a strawberry sundae with pineapple and peaches . My mom was with me and decided on a strawberry sundae with whipped cream , strawberries and peaches. Pricing was not bad and reasonable for the add ons. Outside seating , drive through available and staff was friendly. I attached menu , prices and sizes available. I stopped by for some frozen custard after eating on a Saturday night. There were quite a few people there when I arrived. I was able order quickly and didn't have to wait. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the CAT concrete, I had not had it before. I got it to go and ate it when I got home 10 minutes later. It was pretty runny and had melted very quickly. There were a lot of ingredients added which is good. I don't think that I would order it again. I like coffee but I thought the coffee taste was too strong and overwhelmed all of the other ingredients. I thought it was pretty average overall. read more

I love silkies! I haven't been here in a very long time but I was so glad to be back. I got a small turtle sundae and it was absolutely delicious. The small was even too big for me to finish and so I put it in the freezer and ate the rest later, and it was still delicious. We got our custard very quickly. Even though it was busy, there was plenty of tables to sit at. there's also a drive-through for people that don't wanna get out of their cars which is very convenient. read more

Having grown up in STL with TD on the Southside, Silky gives TD a run for the money... very good, creamy, and not quite as sugary-sweet as some custards. It was nicely balanced, and there are plenty of shapes, sizes, toppings and add ons to please anyone in your group. Stop by next time you're close. Highly recommended. read more

Buyer beware! We have been visiting Silky's for the past 4-5 years. Unfortunately, after tonight's visit, it appears that we need to start going somewhere else for our family's late night treat. Part of our order consisted of a kiddie sundae with strawberries and a small sundae with strawberries. We typically order the same thing at every visit. The kiddie sundae was on par with what we expected- meaning it had at least 4-5 strawberry pieces in it. The small sundae; however, was full of strawberry syrup and literally only had ONE strawberry piece in it. We didn't eat until we got home so the issue wasn't noticed while at the restaurant. I called Silky's to address my concern with the small sundae. At first, no one answered the phone...so I called again. I spoke to Daniel who informed me that, "Unfortunately, the small sundae was made correctly and they don't guarantee a certain number of strawberries." I reiterated that there was literally just ONE piece of a strawberry in my STRAWBERRY sundae AND that my son's (smaller) kiddie sundae had more than one strawberry piece in it. Daniel again advised me that it is normal to only get one piece of a strawberry in their strawberry sundaes. So, I am sharing my experience so that other customers aren't caught off by guard by what seems to be Silky's "new" recipe for their strawberry sundaes. For the last several years, I've never received a strawberry sundae from Silky's that only had one piece of a strawberry in it until now...but Daniel was adamant that this is their usual practice. We come from Ofallon and pass DQ, Fritz's, Andy's and Oberweis (among other places) just to go to Silky's. I know for a fact those places give you more than one strawberry in their sundaes so I'll gladly take our family's business there. read more

I ordered a small butterscotch sundae with whipped cream from Silky's on a freezing night. Their custard is delicious. I was happy it was open as the Creve Coeur location is closed for the winter. I've tried a few frozen custards in the area. It's hard to do custard wrong, really. However, Silky's does it EXTRA right by having a the most delicious mix-ins. The menu has many options. Not TOO many though - some custard places can be overwhelming in their lists but Silky's doesn't go as overboard. This is good because it means the ingredients they have are all quality. No staleness at all. I got a gooey butter cake concrete and it was soooo tasty. Lots and lots of well blended GBC pieces, yum. My partner got the s'mores concrete and wow, we couldn't decide which was better! Lots of Graham taste, marshmallowy smoothness, and the chocolate chunks used were not just plain chocolate chips - they were some kind of chocolate cookie pieces that were great. read more

Frozen yogurt so-so. They don't open until 2pm although it says 1130am on yelp and other on-line sites. When you pull up to the drive-through they say it is now fall hours. This is ridiculous for summer when it is still August and 90+ degrees outside. At least one employee was inside this location at 130pm, but they were not taking customers. read more

I had a great disappointment here this week. For years, this has been my favorite place for a frozen treat. My wife almost always gets a small concrete, and I get a small sundae. As we were pulling away, my wife pulls out her concrete, no problem. She then pulls out this very small, kiddie sized sundae for me. I was shocked at how small it was and that it was flat, not quite to the top of the cup. Usually the sundae is overflowing the larger cup. There was noone else in line, so we pulled around to address what I thought was a mistake. I was told it was a new cup that was deeper than the old one. While it was a new cup, it certainly did not appreciably compare in size to the old one. It didn't have half the frozen custard my wife's concrete did at nearly the same price. I sent a message via the website, but now days later have not heard back. I'm very disappointed. I guess we'll just have to drive a little farther to Fritzs. read more

Silkys as been my favorite frozen custard spot for as long as I can remember. It's close to where I live, location is important when it comes to custard. My go-to is always the cappuccino chip concrete. The custard is so smooth and the cappuccino flavor is perfect and the chocolate chips are the best here. They are square and super crunchy but melt as you chew them. YUM. The grasshopper is also one of my favorite flavors! Service is always great. The employees are friendly and cheerful! Silky's is good, but I was really disappointed with the seasonal flavor, Cinnamon Streusel. It didn't taste like cinnamon. Nor was there streusel. Now I was not there to read the description, but I was expecting something like cinnamon custard with chunks of some sort of cake. Or vanilla custard with cinnamon streusel chunks. Yum, right?! But what I got was vanilla custard with what I'm guessing is a gritty powdered cake mix in it with a spot of caramel on top. Not so yum. It wasn't terrible, just not what I had in mind. I'll stick with cookies & cream! Update I'm not trying seasonal specials again. The caramel apple sundae was not good. It was slices of Granny Smith apples with custard and a drizzle of caramel. I love custard and my husband likes ice cream. Silkys has been my favorite place for the last 5 years. We would go there first since I love thick custard then go by dairy cream for my husband. Wow! Very impressed. The portions are extremely generous, and the custard is thick and creamy. I got chocolate ice cream with caramel, hot fudge, and chocolate chunks. Usually when you mix this much in, it really thinks out the custard, but theirs seemed to hold up. And I got the small which was still more than enough.
