This place offers a little something for everyone. The long days of summer are perfect for a drive to the shaved ice stand. They have a fantastic and spacious patio to linger with your family and friends. I'm hard to please in the shave ice department as I lived in Hawaii for a long while and Matsumoto shave ice is my litmus test. I went with my standard order with frozen yogurt (instead of my usual vanilla ice cream) at the bottom. The medium serving is very generous. The root beer was good. The tanginess of the yogurt was unfamiliar and threw off the taste just a little bit for me. The team was helpful with the menu and our orders were out quickly despite the number of people in line. They offer frozen yogurt or frozen custard with a large variety of toppings. There is a list of signature sundaes. Lastly, there are multiple flavors of dole whip available. My litmus test for dole is the pineapple plantation on the North Shore of Hawaii. I plan to try this on my next visit. read more

This was my husband and I's first time trying out Lulu's. The custard was okay, not the greatest for the price we paid, but what was more unenjoyable was that part of the plastic lid on my concrete had chipped off and been blended into my concrete. read more

The school I work at had Lulus shaved ice for teacher appreciate and it was so good! Their food truck game to the school and they had so many different options of ice cream, pineapple dole whip, and shaved ice flavors. I got a waffle cone with dole whip, whip cream and sprinkles. We're not custard fans...thought they'd have hard ice cream as well but they did not. If you like frozen custard their's is probably good. Great sundae options...they could do better with the hot fudge (give more and put it on top instead of a small amount under (?) the custard). Other toppings were great. Wanted to try the Shave Ice as well but were too full...others had it and it looked right though the name is wrong -- it's Hawaiian and the name should be Shave Ice...no "d" on Shave. I saw that Lulu's is now selling donuts, so I figured I would try them because we have been needing a local donut shop for a while. I got there at 9:20 AM and was the only one in line, I was helped immediately. I ordered seven long Johns with toppings- nothing crazy. Total cost was $16.55. I waited 10 minutes for the donuts to be handed through the window. I checked the box and had only received five. Luckily, it only took two minutes for them to correct the issue and serve me the last two. Service, options, quality, and pricing are all middle of the road. If you're nearby, it is convenient, but I would not make a special trip. read more

This review is for the food truck. Lulu's was at the 3rd of July festivities in Alton. There were two lines and a bit of confusion because the lines weren't marked. Some people got in the pickup line wanting to order. I don't know if they ended up with snow cones or not. Consider adding "order" and "pickup" signs. Things looked a but inefficient inside the truck, though I couldn't see things well. It took a long time to order and then I was given a raspberry sour snow cone when I'd asked for black cherry. I'd order from them again, but only at a less busy event. read more

This is a very neat place. They have so many shaved ice flavors that you are bound to find one you like. I came to try the dole whip. Definitely an experience. It wasn't for me but it was still good. Prices are similar to other mom and pop ice cream places. On their menu it shows custard and frozen yogurt too. So a nice variety. read more

We ordered Libbys Love (cheesecake, strawberries, and pretzels) and Kaspers Candy Crunch (Reeses, Snickers, and M&Ms). Both were delicious. The only negative was how long it took to get our custard. We went to Lulu's expecting soft-serve swirled-style dole whip (as advertised on their Facebook page in photos) that we know and love. Instead we got what appeared to be a scoop of softened orange sherbet in a cup. Very disappointing. read more

A year ago I would have given this place a 5-star rating. However, when we drove up to pick up our selections, the first thing we noticed is that not one of the employees was wearing a face mask. I'm not sure that anyone had any gloves on either. AND they were taking in and passing back credit cards! ALSO, handing us unwrapped straws and spoons! I felt this was ridiculously careless and inconsiderate in the time of a pandemic. Will not be going back unless things improve. read more

This place is a great place to meet up with other families and catch up. The kiddos love the shaved ice and there are fun things for them to do like sidewalk chalk and Hulu Hoops while the adults chat. It's a super convenient location and they are very active within the community which I think is great. I like that they have color free sugar free options so my little one doesn't get too messy and hyper. My husband loves their Libby's Love concrete, gets it almost every time . The best shaved ice (snow cones) in the area. My favorites are wedding cake, cotton candy, and blue bubblegum. It's not in a good location to be seen off Wentzville parkway but it's next to the ice rink. We always run into people we know here. They have hula hoops and chalk for the kiddos.
