I think I found my forever nail salon! I've been looking for a spot that does a simple, but wonderful job at nail art and this is the spot. They don't force dip powder on you, which is great because I know a lot of nail salons typically pushes dipping powder onto people and it makes me uncomfortable. Joy was my nail tech and she was so gentle and detailed the entire time while doing my nails! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I even asked to switch it up a little and she did it perfectly. Everyone at the store was so kind and made you feel super comfortable as well. *If you want an appointment, make sure to mention if you want any designs along with your manicure so they can schedule that correct time frame for you. Overall, my experience was amazing. I love my nails & I am so glad I found this amazing spot! read more

I used to LOVE this place- Jin and Maria were AWESOME- they did the best Gel X and pedicure I've ever had. Just went yesterday and they are no longer there. I left so disappointed and will never go back. Cindy did my gel x and I left with glue all over my fingers and it overflowing on the nail, terrible paint job, she cut my cuticle so badly it wouldn't stop bleeding and she was rough with her filing and was filing my skin- AND she tried to charge me an extra $10 to soak off my Gel x- Jin never did that. The pedicure with an older lady was quick and mediocre, the paint job is awful. I used to drive 30+ to see Jin and Maria, NEVER AGAIN. read more

Most places at least file the nails and/or cut them down..something. this lady wanted to charge me $15 just for the polish and $10 extra to file and trim my nails.Might as well get a pedicure if I pay that much. Just moved to the area and was looking for a new nail place. Decided to give this place a shot only to walk in and walk out. Clearly they advertise walk-ins welcomed so I didn't have an appointment and accepted I may have to wait. I arrived 30 mins after opening... on a Tuesday...when I walked it there weren't many customers so I'm thinking "Great! There won't be a wait". I spoke with a lady and told her I was looking for a full set. She said, "we can help you after 2:30, can you come back?" So....If you're walking in, don't expect to be helped out. The lady in my picture also walked in and walked out. read more

I've been to Silk Nails twice now for a classic pedicure and had a great experience both times. They take appointments and are, thus far, very good about honoring them and not making you wait upon arrival. They have OPI products and some other nail polish brands for you to choose from. The massage chairs are comfortable and although they don't use plastic liners for the foot bath, everything seems to be carefully cleaned. Each time, they've had great attention to detail in prepping my toes for polish. They have the "cheese grater" if your feet necessitate its use. The massage that is included with the classic pedicure is decent and they wrap a hot towel on your legs afterward. They paint your toenails with your sandals on so that when they are done, they can walk you over to the drying station for your polish to dry. They then spray your pedicures to keep it longer lasting and mine have tended to last for over a month. I will definitely be back! read more

Usually when I go to the nail place they do It at the time i make my appointment. Don't understand why I would have to reschedule the appointment and they said that they couldn't do what I asked for.what kind of business can't do different types of nails.they can only do 1type of fucking nails! They need actual people that know how to do with nails and not people who can only paint them!!!! I KNOW ITS LONG, PLEASE READ. I bought the Groupon for the eyelash extensions set. The application was surprisingly quick, maybe 45 mins. I had read it should take 1.5-2 hrs for good application, but whatever. I liked them a lot, no hassle in the morning was great! I had a points card for them and probably went back 7 times. She honors a cheap price (27 in cash for 2 week fill). The lest time I went, my eyes were itchy later that night; I didn't think anything of it. I woke up with my eyes swollen shut and I'm so much pain. I texted her and asked what happened, all she said was "I used same products as last time, take allergy pills", well, okay. It got worse and worse each day. Later on in the week, I was at a wax appt, and it just so happens that she also does eyelash extensions. She told me the application was done to my EYELID instead of eyelashes. She also said the glue was way too strong and damaging. My eyelids still have ripples in them, 2 months later. I won't be going back again. read more

K worked on my gel/no chip manicure and it has been one of the best I've ever had! And it has lasted quite a bit longer. She was great in using tools when removing my previous no chip and my cuticles looked great. She recommended a combo sparkly as accent nails and it looked fantastic. When I first heard about "threading" a couple months ago (yep, I'm so with it), I had the mental image of someone taking a needle and thread to my eyebrow hairs to weave them together into some sort of nice shape. This is how clueless I am when it comes to eyebrows. Sooo...after reading rave reviews of this place and finally getting the nerve to experience this "threading" stuff, I called Jamila, who was able to book me an appointment two days later. An hour after speaking with her, she called back and said she'd had a cancellation, would I like it? Would I ever! How nice of her to call back. I dashed out to Carrollton to find Radiant. TIP: It's located at the southeast corner of Josey and Jackson, facing Jackson. Hard to find unless you know that. Look for the Blockbuster on the corner. ANOTHER TIP: Her name is pronounced "Jah-mee-lah." Poor woman probably gets called something different every day, but she was very polite in correcting me. As soon as I was settled in the procedure room, the first thing Jamila said to me was, "Your eyebrows are too light." She then horrified me by penciling in what they should look like. Granted, this is what every woman WITH A CLUE's eyebrows look like, but it's a big change for me. I compromised with her on doing a slightly lighter shade for the tint (which I hadn't even been planning on until she made me realize how bare and ugly my eyebrows au natural looked). The tint turned out to match my hair PERFECTLY, and I'm very happy with it. I'm going to invest in an eyebrow pencil now. What is this world coming to?! Anyway, she then proceeded to do the threading, which was painful, yes, but not as painful as I'd heard. I do have high pain tolerance, so that probably helped. She listened carefully to my request not to make my eyebrows too thin (I like the distinctiveness of my slightly Brooke-Shields-esque brows). They're not shockingly different from what they looked like before, just slightly more polished and darker (thanks to the tint). Next time, I might be more brave and go for a bit thinner and a bit darker. But I need to work up my courage for that. Best part of the whole thing? The tint ($10) and shaping ($10) were ridiculously affordable compared to pretty much anywhere else I looked. And it was super quick and relatively painless (once I got over the initial heart attack from seeing my eyebrows so dark). I may have just started a new beauty regimen. Who am I?! Next stop: find a shrink to help me deal with the changes in my life. Aaahh!!

Silk Nails and Spa is my best kept secret... until now! They have a variety of services that I've tried and loved. So far I've had facials, massages, eyelash extensions and mani-pedis there and I'd recommend all their services. The customer service is top notch and pricing is unbeatable. I've gotten to know the staff there because of my frequent visits and they all have many professional years of experience in their respective fields. Some may not know but in Korea, beauty school is a very competitive and prestigious field which is the complete opposite of the beauty school mentality here in America. That said, they bring their top level expertise from Korea to service us here and I'm so grateful! I've been a bit selfish and haven't shared my go to nail tech because I"m afraid she'll get all booked up, haha. But she is the bomb and I constantly get praises for her nail art work plus they last forever (the one I have on now has been over a month and no chipping). Since I have a desk job I do tons of typing too, it's so worth getting the gel design. Without further ado, her name is K so go check them out! P.S. you should know that they specialize in gel mani/pedi so if you're looking for pink/white acrylics go somewhere else. read more

I had my nails done by Amy for my wedding and they were beautiful!! She took so much time making them into exactly how I wanted them. I also had my lash extensions done by Jenny, and she created a full set masterpiece from my nonexistent lashes. I recommend this place if you want to go somewhere with excellent staff and care. It's pretty busy during hours, so I would call for an appointment before heading over. I will definitely go again!! Thank you silk nails and spa! read more

The inside of this salon is a girly - girls dream. I visited this place on a Thursday night after work, and got a pink and white solar set. I would definitely return. The only reason I knocked a star off is because the day before, that Wednesday - I booked an appointment online and received a text to 'wait for confirmation'. But I never received the confirmation. And when I called they didn't have my appointment. So i was a little unhappy with that, but decided to walk in instead the next evening - which I am glad I did. I believe her name was Ivy who did my nails, and they were painted on by Chris. They are a dream team. Thanks guys, looking forward to seeing you in 3 weeks.

This time when I went (back in Feb) with an old gel-x set, I asked for a fill. Again I don't normally make it to this process with gel-x, but the nail techs acted confused, but then said only one person, Ivy, knows how to do that. When Ivy started I got the sense she didn't actually know and this is probably something she just made up lol, because apparently you don't fill gel-x, you take them off and start over!!!! They were not cute but I was pressed for time and the longer I started at them the more I noticed how bad they looked. Instead of just saying that there is no fill for gel-x they just bs'd thru it and charged me $5 less than a normal set!!! So they really could have just done it the right way lol and I wouldn't be writing this!! Then just a week later the paint chips off smh HORRIBLE.

They didn't even fill her chair thingy with water totally scamming on hers. Which was suppose to be $25 but they included $5 for tip without informing me. So her I paid $30. They charged for my son who is 6 $45 for his pedicure and I asked to remove his ingrown toe nails because he has a history of getting them since he was born all they did was cut the nail in a curve form and 2 weeks later he now has a toe infection. The price for him was $40 and they also included $5 tip without letting me know. The infection could've been preventable if they just did what they got paid to do. My pedicure and manicure came out to $60. Total I paid $135 plus I still left $30 dollar tip for each lady that worked on us. But the whole entire time I was being charged and I was think why on earth am paying soooo much! I could've been a loyal customer but this is wrong to charge customers not informing that you're including the tip on the bill. And on top of that not even doing the service correctly and complete. I'm very disappointed in myself for wasting money like that especially taking my children there and now I have to care for my son's toe nail with antibiotics. I hate to say this but I'd avoid going in here unless you're ok with getting ripped off.
