My experience with Sigora Solar has turned out positive. Our monthly electric bills for the spring-summer of 2023 have been around $7 (Dominion Energy of Virginia will always charge a small fee for being connected to their grid). Previously since July 2022 when we bought this house, these bills have ranged as high as $300/month. We have received the first Solar Renewable Energy credit (SREC) payment via Suntribe Energy Trading Company, a Sigora partner. My 2022 federal tax return was accepted with a tax credit for the new solar system. I wanted to talk about positives first. The Sigora pre-sales team were very efficient, but my day job is in IT acquisitions (buying stuff) and I typically get a minimum of three estimates. This can take a fair amount of time to complete and may annoy sales folks who are trying to hit sales goals. Mostly due to my ignorance in the solar marketplace, the initial design included storage batteries as well as solar panels. Sigora's cost estimate hovered around $58K with 27 panels and two Enphase batteries. I have been watching the electric car manufacturing situation in the U.S. and believe that with more car battery manufacturing coming online, we will see lower cost/higher density batteries in the near future, so investing in home batteries in 2022 would not have been wise. Removing the batteries and lowering the number of solar panels to 22 brought the cost of the system down to around $25K. I financed this amount with a Sigora partner (Mosaic) and was able to apply a large payment from the tax refund. Getting three quotes from qualified installation companies helped arrive at this system configuration so I recommend doing it wherever possible (other companies were charging even more for storage batteries). Wrapping up -- the Local Consumption feature for Enlighten from Enphase has been helpful in keeping track of energy we use, generate, send to Dominion Energy and get credited for. Sigora installed my panels 1 year ago and I have been paying monthly payments on my loan BUT SIGORA has not yet connected my system with Pepco. It is literally astounding. Sigora appears to have no idea how the process with pepco in DC works and literally has no connections with the power company. PEPCO has on multiple occasions asked SIGORA to reinstall or reapply for my system to be connected. Months of inaction. It is impossible to speak to anyone about my case and to understand what they are doing with my account. I call repeated and leave messages and am assured someone will call me back. Guess what? No one ever calls. Literally it has been months of unreturned calls. Meanwhile I continue to pay the loan amount without any SRECs. I've lost $1000s of dollars thus far. read more

The 2018 install went great, paid for and has been running well. AUgust 2023, the system was great until the inverter crashed and not producing power. Two weeks later, no responses from Sigora, no help. I reached out to another company who will work me in and I will transfer "ownership" to the new company and get a warranty repair. As a former employee of Sigora I would have to warn ANYONE against purchasing solar panels from Sigora. At the current time Sigora has to sustain 12+ installs per week to not go under, they're averaging 2. this company is on the way out and when it does go out there will be ZERO compensation for anyone who has purchased with them. As of right now they have at least 20 customers that have purchased tesla powerwalls from them, already made an initial 50% deposit on the battery and sigora cannot afford to pay for the batteries to install them. Sigora has used contractors in numerous states without paying them and is no longer able to service their systems. If you have a Sigora system in Florida, Maine, South Carolina, etc. If you have an issue with your system, Sigora will NOT come fix your system as they should under warranty. Currently Sigora is finding problems with systems they installed in Virginia and CHARGING customers to come fix the issues THEY created! Sigora has a 30% markup on anything purchased. If you need a new modem that cost $3000 dollars, they're charging you at least $4000. Sigora is not currently paying their employees on time. The paychecks are at LEAST two weeks late, when I voiced my frustration and told them I'd no longer do work until my paychecks were caught up. I was subsequently let go and now I'm not receiving the three paychecks I'm owed by them. They are out of business, thankfully. Their customer service was terrible. At one point I had to stalk the CEO on social media to get their tech support to get back to me. Prior to bankruptcy, there were a number of articles about fiscal mismanagement within the company, and that appears to be a major factor. They were just generally terrible at everything EXCEPT sales. If you are a refugee from Sigora, look around for another company to continue your service - I found that Mountain View Solar (mtvsolar.com) was able to service my system and provide monitoring services as well. read more

in 2022 they were paid by Dividend Financial for solar system, new roof and electrical upgrades for my house. They stiffed the roofer and not completed the upgrades. I am stuck With the loan that I am paying and i can't reach anybody at the company. Awful and horrible people do to business with. read more

Overall, I have been happy with my Sigora Solar experience. Were there hiccups? Of course, but they were few and far between. From the initial contact through the site visit to the final installation everything went as expected. My ground-based system was turned on in late May and has been working flawlessly since then. I also had a very thorough whole house efficiency inspection done which will help with my overall electric usage. Everyone I have dealt with has been professional and thorough. read more

Since Sigora replied to my initial review at the beginning of March, I followed their ask and emailed them about the service issue on 3/13. I received an automated reply that a ticket had been created and they would be in touch within 72 BUSINESS hours. Not 72 hours (aka 3 days), 72 BUSINESS hours. How many business hours are in a day? Assuming 8 hrs/day, that's 9 business days or nearly 2 weeks for them to reply. Since it had already been MONTHS I figured I would give them 2 weeks... Well folks, it's been 4.5 weeks since emailing and there has been no response. So don't let all of the Sigora responses to reviews here fool you - it seems that they do not care about existing customers or honoring their warranty. Stay far away from Sigora. Worst company I have ever worked with in my entire life. The worst customer service, follow up, and the worst results..The biggest waste of money in my entire life. My units break often, they do not produce as promised and my electric bills are over $400 a month even with panels--how is this possible. I'm a Realtor and know what people with similar sized homes spend on electricity. DO NOT USE SIGORA SOLAR! They installed a Generac system for us in April, but when cutover came, they gave us the wrong system information. There was a component of the battery system that was DOA, took months to get fixed. Continued to have issues with the PV links which has come up again. The big issue with Sigora is the support. Their technicians are good to work with, but actually getting support when needed is difficult at best. I am usually told that it will take at least 2 weeks to get a tech on site to address issues and sometimes takes longer. Either they are woefully understaffed or they are installing systems that are not working properly. Either way it is a huge issue. Given the opportunity I would not choose them again. read more

Had my system insta by them a couple of years ago. The monitoring equipment was apparently old stock as I had to pay over 500$ to have its modem replaced. Additional issue due to workmanship last month. They asked me for a $350 "deposit" to have a truck move and have a technician look at my system. Was ti be refunded if it was actually a workmanship issue. Technician worked on it. Didn't hear from them. Had to ask a couple of times for a report, which confirmed it was a failure on the installation and not an equipment warranty issue. I should be refunded. A month and a half later and no refund. Sigora Home customer service has been less than stellar. They have failed to get a permit from the county for severe months. They have provided false information which I have had to call to get accura information. Once they are paid, the custom service experience declined rapidly. No one follows up with you. Their website information is wrong on the status of your project and they fail to update the information even after they are made aware it. I am still waiting on a permit approval after 2-3 months. unhappy customer. read more

Not impressed with on going service and support. The website says "With Sigora your system production is guaranteed - we will pay you DOUBLE the difference if you don't get the results we say you will." My service went down mid August, I was not alerted (as I was told I would be by my sales rep, through an app that was given to me). Turns out the app was not sent to me with the correct configuration. When I realized my service was not working, that request was addressed rapidly, but then when I asked for some sort of refund for the now almost one month of no solar support (my power bills are high), I was told there was nothing they could do for me. Not sure how that coincides with "we will pay you DOUBLE the difference if you don't get the results we say you will." Sigora Solar performed a roof solar installation for us several years ago. The work they performed in a 7.2 kWh panel install has held up for many years, allowing us to obtain an actual credit on our power bill for 4-5 months of the year and overall lowered our power bill by more than half for the remaining months. The panels have paid for themselves at this point and we anticipate many more (10+) years of benefit. The pro forma was well explained and as it turns out, accurate. Customer service after install is nonexistent. Good luck reaching anyone at the listed phone number on Google as they do not answer. Local sales reps come and go and you're lost without a contact person. The Sigora "warranty" is false and worth about as much as the paper it's written on. Buyer beware!!! System was installed February of 2020. System stopped communicating May of 2020. System has not worked correctly for months and currently incurs electric bills over $100 a month from the electric company. read more

I am actively looking for a lawyer now. I am willing to pay anything to get back at these crooks! They installed. Did their terrible energy efficiency thing which was changing a few lightbulbs. Installed quickly but system not on for over 6 months with no updates. Then since it has been "on" no change in electric bill or power usage... in other words They are doing nothing. Unfortunately, the customer service reviews are correct. Emails will go unanswered for weeks. The production guarantee will not be corrected within the first year due to force majeure so read your contract carefully. We were told our second year would be better and it was actually less prodcution than the first. If you do finance through Sigora, your interest will compound DAILY. That is information that was not passed on to us upon signing. We were sent an e-mail stating that we could be paid for our SREC (solar energy credits). Upon communicating directly with Carbon Solutions, we were notified that our inverter that was installed will most likely not allow us to sell our credits. When we reached year two of lackluster production, we had to reach out to Sigora multiple times for an explanation. We decided to take a payment settlement agreement for a check in place of upgrading our system because it was easier than possibly considering having to communicate more with them. The decision was also made on the presumption that we could sell our SREC credits too and invest both to make our investment back over the years. I sent MULTIPLE e-mails to Randy Landry questioning why our payment hadn't been sent within the 60 days on the contract and wanted to know why we were unable to sell our SREC (politely explaining that we made the decision under the assumption that our returns for both payments would make up for what we had to pay Dominion for lack of production). We never received a response but a check magically showed up today after mentioning that we would seek legal counsel to resolve not receiving payment within the 60 days. Seems this company can afford to advertise at Fed-Ex field but can't afford to take care of paying customers. read more

We installed with Sigora back in 2020. The company was great back then and bent over backwards to help us with some HOA challenges. I also referred a number of folks to Sigora since then. My last referral was more than a year ago and I still keep "fighting" with the customer service reps to pay the referral fee. They made thousands, I just want my few dollars of that, as promised. I have an email from a rep saying it was an error with the sales guy, though we are on there and the referral will be processed. Since then, she ghosted me, has quit the company and whenever I call, it's we will check and get back to you. Maybe someone from the company will read this and fulfill on their commitments. I see I'm not the first customer who came on here after having a bad experience with Sigora Solar. I won't go into the boring details but the headlines are this: we made multiple appointments with them where they didn't show up, week after week, and then other times we were told they'd call back to reschedule and then we just never heard from anyone. We did have our own delays that weren't their fault but this team made it harder at every turn. The worst and weirdest part was emailing their office manager Gaye at the end about what had happened. She emailed back saying she'd look into things and get back to us. Then we didn't hear for a month and when we did reconnect, she insisted that she'd been waiting on us - even after we forwarded back her own email to her. All that said, the actual guy who came out to reinstall the pool solar was nice. If you are looking for a solar company, this ain't it. Working with this solar company has been pure amateur hour. They do not know what they are doing nor can you actually get a hold of anyone that knows what is going on. Our solar has been installed and we have had permission to operate for over 4 months and the system is still not working. We have had multiple technicians out to our house and each one knows less of what is going on that the previous. There is no turnover of previous notes. Each time a tech comes out, they spend hours diagnosis the problem and on the phone with someone from"technical" only to say they need new parts, new battery, or we were even told by one that the system was not installed correctly. We have Enphase batteries and were told by an Enphase tech that our batteries were not working and that we needed a new one. We also were told that the batteries were not wired correctly. What is interesting is that as you are going through the buying and installation process, they level of service is amazing, however once the system was installed and they got their money, it is a totally different company. read more

This has been the worst experience that I have every had to deal with. Up to installation I had great service, since then terrible. People do not return calls. My system did not work for months, the men who installed everything installed the production meter incorrectly and it took months for someone to finally come and correct the situation. They lied to me for months telling me it was producing energy when i could see it was not. The company realized they installed the incorrect amount of panels and want me to sign new papers but, if I received less panels than my contract said, I want a reduction in price. We cannot recommend this company to anyone. Their customer service is terrible. Our panels were installed in 2018 at a cost of $27,000 with promises of savings in utility bills. In 2020 we asked Sigora Solar to send out a serviceman to move one of the panels because it was too close to an air vent, and causing an odor to back up into the attic. They did this willingly BUT the serviceman turned off the switch while he worked on the panel and never turned it back on! When we finally realized that the panels were turned off 33 months later we asked them to send someone out again to turn the panels back on. We had never been told there was an ON/OFF switch! It was not visible and there had been no instructions about our part in keeping the panels on. The Sigora serviceman apologized and said it was a sad situation that we had not had solar panel power for 33 months! It's been 4 months of calling Sigora and asking them to pay for the amount of solar power we lost and we are repeatedly told they will escalate it to someone who can help and who will call us. Poor project coordination and communication. Multiple mistakes were made along the way including having us unload the semi containing all materials for the project with my husband having to leave work in the middle of the day to do so and the panels originally being hooked up to the incorrect meter. Representatives from Sigora promised to "make it right" with us after the mistakes, but then failed to do so. In the end the project was completed and the panels are functioning, but with the multitude of solar companies to choose from I believe your money would best be spent with a company with better customer service. read more

We really liked our Sales Person, instalation was seamless. Administration, technical problems are a mess. The internet system to track usage worked for 3-4 months and then quit. Towers went to 5G, everyone knew that was going to happen BUT NOT taken into consideration or discussed at purchase. After the fact Sigora expected and still expects us to pay for upgrade. If you buy from them don't finance with them and ask a LOT of questions because they obviously leave stuff out in discussions and tech NEVER calls you back read more

We purchased our solar system through BJs Sunly. Sigora is the company they used to do the install, servicing and energy efficiency audit (part of the overall plan). Sigora employees I dealt with were uniformly friendly and polite, taking time to explain things to me when I asked (or when it was important for me to be aware of something. They came earlier than scheduled (with my ok) and both times were obviously a team (efficient). they use US manufactured equipment, and their service people on the phone have been helpful and accommodating. I would use them again if I had to, and have recommended them to friends. very pleased. read more

stay away all talk and don't back up what they say. they show pictures and brag about how good there panels look. but when install look light checkerboard of different colors. tried contacting them but no one would call me back or come look at the quality of there product. every one who sees them asks what the heck with your panels.
