After choosing a rooftop-mounted solar system, I researched panel options and chose REC panels. Sky…read moreNRG Solar appeared on REC's site as a certified installer, so I added them to my list of prospective providers. Megan from Sky NRG provided a detailed quote and patiently answered my many questions about the different REC panels on the market. I ultimately chose Sky NRG based on my interaction with her and positive reviews on Google and Reddit. I also preferred a local installer in Northern Virginia, and Sky NRG fit that requirement perfectly. We signed the contract on July 26, and the panels were installed on September 10. Megan handled the HOA permissions, and the installation was completed ahead of schedule when Sky NRG found an opening that suited me. Juan and his team managed the installation with careful attention to the aesthetics of the panel placement. Robert, Sky NRG's CEO, was present during the installation, underscoring their commitment to customer satisfaction. We discovered issues with my existing electrical panel during the process, and Robert recommended replacing it. Based on the quality of work by Juan and the overall experience with Sky NRG, I opted to have them handle the panel replacement rather than seeking other bids. Juan completed the job, and I'm pleased with the result. We received Permission To Operate (PTO) from Dominion Energy on October 28, and since then, we've been consistently exporting energy to the grid. I'm delighted with Sky NRG. They never tried to upsell, were always responsive to my questions, and offered a competitive price lower than other bids. Megan and Robert continue to stay involved, and I am confident about their prompt attention to address any future issues. Highly recommended!

My experience with Sigora Solar has turned out positive. Our monthly electric bills for the…read morespring-summer of 2023 have been around $7 (Dominion Energy of Virginia will always charge a small fee for being connected to their grid). Previously since July 2022 when we bought this house, these bills have ranged as high as $300/month. We have received the first Solar Renewable Energy credit (SREC) payment via Suntribe Energy Trading Company, a Sigora partner. My 2022 federal tax return was accepted with a tax credit for the new solar system. I wanted to talk about positives first. The Sigora pre-sales team were very efficient, but my day job is in IT acquisitions (buying stuff) and I typically get a minimum of three estimates. This can take a fair amount of time to complete and may annoy sales folks who are trying to hit sales goals. Mostly due to my ignorance in the solar marketplace, the initial design included storage batteries as well as solar panels. Sigora's cost estimate hovered around $58K with 27 panels and two Enphase batteries. I have been watching the electric car manufacturing situation in the U.S. and believe that with more car battery manufacturing coming online, we will see lower cost/higher density batteries in the near future, so investing in home batteries in 2022 would not have been wise. Removing the batteries and lowering the number of solar panels to 22 brought the cost of the system down to around $25K. I financed this amount with a Sigora partner (Mosaic) and was able to apply a large payment from the tax refund. Getting three quotes from qualified installation companies helped arrive at this system configuration so I recommend doing it wherever possible (other companies were charging even more for storage batteries). Wrapping up -- the Local Consumption feature for Enlighten from Enphase has been helpful in keeping track of energy we use, generate, send to Dominion Energy and get credited for. It was not included in our original system, but here is the link if you want to see what it does: https://support.enphase.com/s/article/How-can-I-view-my-homes-energy-consumption-in-MyEnlighten Good luck with finding the right solar for your home/business!

We actually ended up hanging up on each other, but he later called me back. I decided to give him another chance despite the bad first impression. When he arrived at my house, he charged additional fees on top of what he originally quoted for the generator diagnosis. This felt very dishonest. He also claimed there was a same-day service charge, even though he had told me a different rate over the phone. In the end, the issue with my generator was never fixed, and the overall experience was very disappointing. The service felt dishonest and unprofessional, and I would not recommend this company.

After the preliminary site inspection, we signed a contract, and he provided some recommended corrections that should be made. I subsequently requested an estimate for those corrections on several occasions and most recently tried to reach them by email, text, and phone, for a service call due to a maintenance notice from the generator, all to no avail. I get no response, despite having a contract. Due to the obvious breach of contract, I have no choice but to contract with someone else to provide the maintenance who will be responsible and responsive and will be notifying Generac that they are not a reliable provider and should not be listed in their application as a suggested company.
