General Store and Coffee Bar
Tricia K.

A hidden gem! This coffee shop and general store looked so unassuming, I was pleasantly surprised by the service and quality of goods inside. Ready made sandwiches, fruit cups and snacks for takeaway were a convenient surprise. Best of all, in addition to the usual camping and backpacking stock were lots of interesting and gourmet quality local goods. Marshmallows made in Jackson, a cheese section, local sausages, kombucha made in the Tetons, and aluminum-bottled water (instead of plastic,) etc. made for great snacks and souvenirs! And the coffee shop served a fantastic huckleberry cappuccino. Perfect temperature and perfect steamed milk foam. The service was stellar. This building is in the Signal Lodge Resort Area but is separate from the Trapper Grill. It also has a gas station and sweet little deck to sit and sun yourself on a nice day. There's a sign that says "Please don't feed the foxes" so... Maybe we'll see fox friends next time?

View from Trapper Grill, on-site restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Coffee Cart - My "Cali breakfast burrito" - enormous and delicious!

It is a bit costly for every item on the menu, but the coffee is solid. It's something you can probably brew at home if do this regularly. The good stuff are their personalized bakery. I'm talking the huckleberry goods. I was looking forward to a California burrito based on historical photos/captions, but they didn't have it when I swung around yesterday. Service was pretty standard and quick. The location is in the open on the second floor of the information area. It's surrounded by all the restaurants with a nice view of Grand Teton. If you want to walk around Grand Teton with some fresh coffee, this is probably your spot.

I actually carry packs of dark roast instant to add to my travel coffee, just in case it is too weak. No problem here. Ambiance: In the Lobby of the Jackson Lodge in Grand Tetons...just a kiosk for coffee, but I would encourage grabbing your Joe, and looking around. Lovely views. Customer Service: Efficient

Hot chocolate - my LO said it was yum. It even comes with marshmallows! Additionally, you can request Kids TEMP. TYSM. Huckleberry puree in americano - This was a very refreshing combination in coffee. I would get it again! Caramel latte - a good latte. Cheddar scallion biscuit - wow, this one is delicious and such a buttery savory choice! Croissant - buttery and flaky. Strawberry Rhubarb croissant - the acid and sweetness goes so well with the buttery flaky pastry. Morning Glory muffin - almost like a bran muffin, a nutritious pick. We would definitely come back in the future.

The grilled cheese was genuinely tasty, and I really liked the cortado. The pecan pie was fine -- not outstanding, but enjoyable enough. The croissant, though, was disappointing. It was served cold, not warmed up at all, and surprisingly, they don't even offer a plain croissant. It may sound like a minor detail, but when you're paying bakery-level prices, those details count. The bigger problem, however, was the service -- especially the brunette woman at the counter. From the second we approached, the atmosphere felt unfriendly. No smile, no greeting, no eye contact. There was no willingness to assist, no recommendations, and no sense of hospitality whatsoever. Her expression stayed cold the entire time, and it honestly felt like we were inconveniencing her simply by ordering. To top it off, it took nearly five minutes just to get a basic receipt, with no explanation or acknowledgment. And that's the thing about customer service -- it shapes the entire experience. A café can have great coffee, appealing food, and a beautiful interior, but when the first interaction feels distant and unwelcoming, it overshadows everything else. Staff members are the face of a business, and when customers leave feeling ignored or unwanted, it leaves a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons. Beautiful space and some solid food, but service is what defines whether people return -- and unfortunately, this experience made us not want to come back.

After hiking to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point, I continued on to Jenny Lake Lodge and arrived just in time for my 12:30pm reservation. Upon my arrival, my cell phone was nearly dead and I had forgotten my portable charger. The lovely staff at the lodge graciously accommodated my inquiry if they had a spare charger. Once seated in the dining room, my server, Cam, was attentive and friendly and gave me a great recommendation to try the Elk Burger. The burger was cooked to my request and the meal was relaxing! The lodge just has something about it and the view out the window was just so calming! I would love to stay at Jenny Lake Lodge in the future but, in the meantime, my pleasant lunch experience will have to suffice! It was nice to hang out in the lodge for a little while before starting my walk back to the Jenny Lake parking area.
