I have…read moreSilhouette frames and after my eye exam, I ordered 4 sets of lenses for 4 frames. initially I ordered one pair, and before knowing that I was going to order add lenses, the optician who was dealing with me, told me that my newer frame wasn't good enough to use again. That was my cue to take my business elsewhere...but I didn't. Interestingly, when I ordered additional lenses and spending a lot more, those frames became usable again. I spent $3,300. on 4 sets of lenses. I'm happy with 1 pair, which thankfully are my daily glasses and the only pair that I ordered that had no changes to the shape or colour. The only pair that was exactly what I ordered. One out of four. I wanted an orange tint, but I got rose tinted instead. I ordered plain rectangle reading glasses, but got designer lenses and paid $300. more than I was quoted. I still don't know why! I asked the optician for a breakdown of my readers, I wanted to know why they cost that much more. I received an email with the invoices for my glasses with no explanation. I then asked the supervisor the same. I received more questions from her. I still have no idea why I paid $300. more for designer readers that I didn't order and don't like! But because they are readers that I grossly overpaid for, I'm leaving them as is. The rose tinted lenses and the sunglasses are not what I wanted and so I'll be spending another $2000. maybe less because this place is pricey, somewhere else to get what i want. No accountability, poor communication, pricey. They've lost 30+ years of my business and I can't in good conscience recommend spending your hard earned money here.

She was…read more conscientious, didn't rush through any processes and after completing the new prescription allowed me to look at the photo results of both eyes pointing out the areas of concern. She is a gentle, soft spoken doctor with a lovely kind manner while maintaining a professional approach to all of the eye issues (retina detachments and laser surgeries) that had altered my vision. I didn't really feel like I had time to give him enough feedback during the process. The optical center of the lenses ended up being off which caused me eye strain so I had to go back and get them re-done. The contact lenses that I got with it were also not exactly what I asked for (same brand but different curvature). I wanted them to match the same ones that I had fitted by my optometrist at Mount Pleasant Optometry. If you have more complicated eye issues like astigmatism (like me) I would suggest going to an actual optometrist so they can account for that kind of stuff. There are no optometrists at this place. Basically I'm just frustrated that the time wasn't taken to get them done properly the first time and I had to go out of my way to go back there again.

We have recommended at least 7 people and they all loved their experience. My mom recommended of her friends who had eye problems for two years. She went to a specialist who said not much could be done. After she came to galaxy eyewear, they fitted her with the proper lenses and now she can see again. Forever grateful. Super friendly and we always get a good deal. I won't go anywhere else!

The day I went to the Main Street location for an exam was very busy with about 10+ customers. Staff were swamped and perhaps feeling the pressure of needing to attend to everyone without making them wait too long. I didn't wait too long and felt confident in the optician who did the examination. The person who helped me with frames did not rush me, was focused on what I needed despite all of the other customers milling around and was super friendly, helpful and efficient. Main Street can have a bad rep of being a bit snobby, but this was the friendliest shop I've ever been to on Main aside from Red Cat. It was actually disarming how friendly and unpretentious they were. The Manager was also so helpful, professional and very knowledgeable and I could tell he was totally on top of things and knew how to operate the business with the technical knowledge for the type of business it is. It felt like he actually cared about his staff, customers and how well this location performed. Superb job in a very challenging time when staff are hard to find, retain and keep happy. I'll admit that I originally went to another location where the staff looked through a big manual to answer my questions and I left not ordering anything because I didn't feel confident in what they were telling me. I had broken 2 pairs of Prada glasses and had wandering around without being able to see for almost…read morea year. I had a few other pairs of Prada frames kicking around, and I wondered if I could use them to fix the ones that had broken. I also had some sunglasses that were either loose, bent, or missing nose pieces. I walked in to Opticana and was greeted by 2 friendly ladies. They were able to take my broken Pradas (both pairs) and use my other Prada frames to give me 2 fully fixed pairs of eyeglasses! They also fixed my designer sunglasses (4 pairs). This was all done i less then half hour. I knew they were closing soon, and I offered to come back the next day, but they insisted that they would finish. The total for everything? ONLY 27$!! I was floored! I tried to give them a tip, but they wouldn't take it. This place is awesome and I certainly will be back!
