If you're wondering what an almost $10 latte looks like - here ya go! I love stopping into local coffee shops, but at this price point for a small latte I just can't see the value. This was one of their seasonal options with oat milk so I guess that was what made the price so high but I still can't justify it. I was also looking to try one of their pastries but they had a small selection and nothing looked all that appealing. The shop itself was clean and the service was good but spending more than the national minimum wage on a coffee is beyond me.

Visiting Charleston and our friend took us here. Really great vibe, extremely friendly staff and honestly great coffee. The foam was like milked ice cream (like it should be) and the espresso was smooth. The clothes, books and art is fun to look at while waiting for coffee too!

SIGHTSEE COFFEE - the coast is clear | Cute little coffee shop we stopped by after getting some mediocre coffee at breakfast. Half the store is also dedicated to selling local goods, artwork, apparel, etc, which is fun to browse while waiting for your coffee (or while sipping!). We ordered a cortado and a honey latte - both were standard but solid caffeine boosts that revived us in a way that the previous coffee couldn't. Would have loved to see more latte flavor or specialty coffee drink options but I made do with my honey latte. Will definitely stop through again next time when in the area!

Came here on a rainy day and this brightened my mood ! The inside is soo cute and vibey. The menu is small but the coffee is delicious. Adorable spot in Hampton Park! Came in here for the blackbird deal and so glad I did since I've driven by here so many times and haven't stopped yet. The coffee is delicious and tastes so fresh. I love the open air and well lit spot. The merchandise is the cherry on top- everything they sell is on trend and well made. Will definitely be adding this to my list of favorite coffee shops.

Came in with the girlfriend to get a Sunday morning coffee and maybe some grub. Left still wanting coffee and hungry. The ship itself is really nice, the vibe just makes me think of something you would see in, say, a movie set in the desert part of California. Very cool! The food is limited to some pre-made baked goods. At this point everywhere in Charleston seems to have the same assortment. Looking at the menu the prices seemed very reasonable, especially for Charleston! We both ordered a latte and it came out to $13-ish? And then I saw the serving sizes. These cups were 10 or 12 oz! That's a lot of money to spend on a small cup of coffee! And it took a while to be made. The coffee choices are extremely limited too. My girlfriend actually asked if they had a full menu because she couldn't believe that a "coffee shop" was so limited on their coffee choices. But this is another recent Charleston trend too; a number of the places I have been too lately are only capable of making 5-10 drinks. While we waited for our coffee, another customer came in with a very large dog, not marked as a service animal, and that's extremely inappropriate (and I believe against health code) and the employees didn't say anything. I saw this dog jump on someone else (in a friendly way, but still...) while there. The last thing I want while waiting for my food is to have a dog up in my business. Overall, it's hard to recommend Sightsee. Only thing that saved it from a 1 star review is that I actually liked my mocha. But I wouldn't pay this much money for this little coffee, wait this long, and be in a place that allows dogs inside again, there are better choices in Charleston.

The 5-star reviews are spot on. Sightsee is one of the best coffee spots in town. On "Sightsee Sundays", they have pop-ups like food trucks or local artisans and occasionally have a DJ outside in the VW bus. The hot vanilla oat milk latte was rich and delicious. The shop is small, but you can take your order to the park across the street or sit around the tables outside. The workers are incredibly nice, and I love that they offer non-dairy options like oat milk. Parking can be a challenge in this area, but if you drive down Line St. and some of the side streets, you can find a spot.

Exactly what I was hoping to find on my trip to Charleston! If you're a coffee snob, this place is a must try. If you're just in it for your caffeine fix, then these friendly people will get it to you with a smile! We had an Airbnb close by and stopped in for coffees. This place was amazing! The staff were super friendly. The chai latte was one of the best I've had in a long time! The best coffee in the neighborhood. I was visiting Charleston for 5 days and made sure each day started with Sightsee. Their house drip coffee was heavenly, their espresso was divine, and their pastry selections were delicious. Top it off with a cold Topo Chico mineral water and I was ready to face that swampy heat each day. Bonus points for the wonderful baristas and incredible pups I got to hang with each morning. read more

Great coffee! The spot is in a super cute location. My only complaint is it takes a long time to get your coffee. Also, make sure you put your mask on before you even open the door because they are on you before you even have the chance to think about putting yours on. read more

The cutest little neighborhood coffee shop with delicious lattes! Stayed at an Airbnb down the street and frequented Sightsee often. The owners were both very friendly and took the time to offer suggestions on places to go and things to do while we were in town. What a beautiful dreamy space, i loved everything they've done with the tiny house they are in!! Such a little gem! Very friendly sweet staff, and delicious strong coffee!! I love little local shops like this! If you are a coffee shop connoisseur like my self, and you love small little coffee shops, this is the place to check out! I got my iced coffee very quickly but if you are looking to get a specialty drink, i would order ahead online, just so you're not waiting too long, because they specially create everything by hand :) read more

If small, independent shops with wonderful coffee and friendly and knowledgeable owners is your vibe, you need to go to Sightsee. Sightsee is easily walkable from most of downtown Charleston but also hidden from the King Street chaos. I highly recommend this new neighborhood coffee shop! Get the galão; its wonderful! read more

Super cool coffee shop. A great grab and go spot for people in the neighborhood or commuters passing by. I had a delicious cup of cold brew while I was there. As good as it gets is right - Sightsee does not limit themselves to caffeinated beverages, they offer a slew of travel-inspired and related items. It's obvious that each item has been specifically curated and picked for this shop in the heart of Charleston. Parking in this mostly residential area is easy and you surely can't miss the turquoise door or frequent laughter and chatter coming from inside. Follow the cute pups, strollers, bicycles, and cool kids to Sightsee. You won't be disappointed (and you may end up spending an hour and a half there in the middle of a Friday - time well spent, might I add). read more

Sightsee is a great addition to the neighborhood. Upon entering you will find this place is so cute with great gifts and coffee. I get the cappuccino with whole milk and it's amazing. It has a great community vibe where you might run into some well known locals if you live in Charleston! Such a gem of a coffee shop, tucked away in the quiet center of the peninsula. An easy stroll from just about anywhere downtown and worth the visit. Sightsee is a travel-inspired retail store and coffee bar nestled in the Elliotborough neighborhood of downtown Charleston. We sell a curated collection of goods from small brands and makers around the country and serve craft coffee, espresso, and organic tea from local and regional roasters.

History

Established in 2019.

Founded by Joel Sadler and Allyson Sutton, Sightsee aims to inspire a sense of adventure in everyday life. We started in 2018 by hosting pop-ups in local shops around Charleston. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, we were able to open our first brick-and-mortar in September 2019! By blending the energy and community of a cafe with the joy of product discovery, Sightsee introduces you to new finds in a way that breaks traditional retail categorization. Grab a cup of coffee, strike up a conversation, and learn how the brands we carry can bring a bit of adventure to your day-to-day.

That absolutely tracked for us. The Market itself has been a Charleston staple for over 200 years, and it still feels lively, local, and full of character. What really stood out for me was an artist who went by Andy, who had a collection of pop art vinyl records that was genuinely fantastic. Using mixed media, he created pieces featuring different singers, musicians, and bands on old vinyl records, which felt both clever and beautifully done. I chose an amazing Mary J. Blige piece that was also hand-painted, and I was absolutely thrilled with it. The value of your dollar was VERY worth getting one (or more)! Cash only! Overall, this was a thoroughly enjoyable wander and a very good place to find art, gifts, and a few things you did not know you needed. I would happily go back.
