Could be better. Compared to all the other supermarkets in the area, they lack in quality of meat and fish. They also don't have a lot of the same products and items that you'd normally find. They are, however, pretty neat and organized. It is definitely one of the more cleaner and spacious markets. It's located in a large plaza with other shops so there should be plenty of parking. Not the best, but also not the worst.

This market over charged us for the grocery. If you go there, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE double check your receipt. We bought our beef meatball and both package is the same weight and they sell it as the same price. But the cashier charge it by weight.

Dirty. Frozen food actively thawing. Workers have bad food handling practices when using power tools near food.

Rude if you're not Vietnamese. The meat and kitchen place stink and look dirty in my opinion.

Same name as my San Diego location, maybe has some connection with that, but since we were in OC and I tried to avoid the traffic from ABC near Bolsa, instead I decided to come here for Mom groceries, well they still have the typical concept for most Vietnamese super market where you can do multiples things besides shopping, you can buy plane tickets or to go food from different vendors inside the market, they most likely still have it at 99 ranch and HMart, but they eliminated this concept for San Diego Viet markets already, maybe they didn't do very well. Anyway they have stuffs, but not all the stuffs we were looking for such as rau muống aka Vietnamese water spinach, I asked one of the employees and he said they ran out of stock, hmmm for a Vietnamese market you should have this item fully stocked especially on a Sunday, I am very skeptical but again that explains for the parking lot without many cars, well better luck next time.

Stopped by here because of my positive experiences shopping at the Shun Fat store(s) when we lived in Las Vegas. By positive experiences, I'm referencing the well stocked and wide ranging variety of aisles/shelves of both food and non food items as well as produce meats and fresh seafood. Decent customer service has never been a hallmark of most Chinatown businesses I always frequented be it both Bay Area Chinatowns, Las Vegas' Chinatown or here in Little Saigon. I found some produce (whole wintermelon) , and some pantry staples here that I have not seen at other Asian grocery stores in the area. Yay! My cashier was pleasant and spoke English once she heard my first verbal response. She ran jnto a problem with the code for the whole wintermelon. It took some female manager a total of about 10 minutes to look up the code after she was through doing some other activities first. Damn the line of customers getting longer by the minute. She finally shouts the item code from the office from about 7 checkstands away. My poor cashier kept apologizing. So now I'm exiting. I've been watching this older Asian Security Officer checking receipts a la Costco style. Then he hands each shopper a package of some type of Asian snack. My turn. Approx $29 purchase. Looks at my receipt, marks it, hands it back. No freebie handout from the snack Nazi. BUT every shopper behind me got one. Guessing he doesn't like ABC's like me. Despite today's experience, I will keep this store in my list of pteferred Asian grocery stores based solely on decent prices for most items ( you need to do your shopping comparison homework) and excellent variety of product selection.

See the bruises from the guy grabbing and pulling my purse and arm

Bad woman she should get fire, arguing with customer
    Ivy P.

This woman should be fired!! Don't Come Here!!! Bad customer service. I'm not race or discrimination at all. But for sure I don't speak Vietnamese but the cashier argued with me in Vietnamese. First I brought a case of Korean pears. The woman ringed it up at 19.99 she opened it don't mind. She have to taken one pear and ran to the front and asked for the price. During Covid, I don't want anyone to touch my belongings. She seems like I'm stealing. WHAT THE F##K. Of course I don't want that case anymore, so I grabbed another case and came to her again and want to see what she will do this time. She dare told me to go to another register. Her English terrible. I told nope. She started to argued me and tell me to go her manager. I told her come with me, she don't dare. And took her phone out like to call her family. I took my phone out too. She thinks I don't dare to call the cop???

If you happen to buy fired fish please make sure to check to before they wrap it. Cuz they literally BURNT mine.

The supermarket was pretty clean, lots of products to choose. We were here yesterday lunch (Tuesday) around 1230pm. But why the parking lot had only few cars? My first time here. Prices are higher than different Vietnamese supermarket 3 to 4%, cashier was pretty cold if you don't want to say that she was rude. She looked at the guests with a cold face, no feeling, from the time we entered the line to the time we got out, no eyes contact, no greeting, no thanks or not even a simple smile beside her cold look toward the guests. The cashiers here wear pretty red vest, but they got no training at all. They should never touch the card (visa or whatever card) of the guest unless the guest ask them to help. They should ask if the guest find everything ok or did the guest has problem locating any item, at least they SHOULD HAVE A SMILING FACE to welcome the guest and SAY thanks when they hand the receipt to the guest. If this cashier only comes to work because she needs $, don't hire her. You guys should hire someone who has passion and enthusiastic Don't want to come back

    Ashley B.

Great selection of noodles, spices, fruit, veggies, snacks... I think this is the biggest Asian supermarket I've been in on this side of the Pacific.

Security denying entry to store as they claimed store close at 7:45pm when closing time is 8pm. Ridiculous

Seems to me, it is less crowded than other markets. (If I can avoid crowds, I will). It was Tet New Year season and I needed to get a few ingredients for some dishes I planned to cook. My first priority was the fresh oxtail in the meat department. I have gone to many markets for this cut and it seems this is the best place for a ~2 pound tray of mixed size tails. The fat is all trimmed off, as opposed to other markets that leave a fat layer behind that you are paying for. It also depends on if you prefer leaner tails. Next, the produce section. I picked up some cailan (Chinese broccoli). For the most part, the Asian veggies are pretty fresh - since there is a higher turnover rate of Asian veggies in this area. It was good on this day. So many varieties of green veggies, I love it! The fruit section is also pretty impressive. Papayas, guanabana, dragon fruit, pommelo, tangerines, korean pear, manzano bananas,...Not your ordinary apples and oranges. Dry goods include a plethora of rice, including Thai sweet rice, Japanese rice (perfect for sushi rice), red rice (known for high fiber and low glycemic index)... Who likes Chinese Style sausage? Me! It is called Lap Xuong, in Vietnamese. I love making Thai sweet rice and serve with thinly sliced Lap Xuong - my mom fed us kids this often! And yes, they have a good supply of this here, so stock up, it will last forever in the pantry. Vietnam is the world's second largest coffee producer. You will see the crazy amount of coffee products sold here, for example, Vinacafe. Most are packed as individual serving packets which includes cream and sugar. Too convenient for consumption! Also perfect to have in your pantry. You shall be impressed with the chili aisle. Sambal of all kinds. You can make an awesome pot of chili with this heat! Lots of Lunar New Year items too. I am sure there are still some left for purchase if you didn't have a chance to pick some up yet. They do have a liquor department too. Asians can drink iykyk. If you do, please don't drink and drive. Parking is ok, if you go shopping off peak hours. Market is on Beach Boulevard and it could get pretty busy so plan wisely. So enjoy your visit. It is always fun to discover a new product and try something you have never eaten before!

For meat, I grabbed ground beef, pork neck (currently on sale for $1.99/lb), and chicken breast. Prices were definitely reasonable. For produce, quite a few items were cheaper than H Mart, including enoki mushrooms, Japanese yam, daikon, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and carrots. That said, the Japanese yam didn't look very fresh this time, so I ended up skipping it and buying it at H Mart instead, even though it was a bit more expensive. Some items were priced about the same as H Mart, like napa cabbage ($0.99/lb), onions ($0.39/lb), and bean sprouts ($0.99 per pack). One change I noticed is that cucumbers are now pre-packaged instead of being sold loose, so you can't pick them individually anymore. They're also slightly more expensive than H Mart now. They also had a great deal on Driscoll's strawberries, $0.99 for a 1 lb box, which is definitely worth picking up. Overall, still a great spot for affordable grocery shopping, especially if you're cooking at home and want to save a bit here and there. (visited on 3/31/2026)
