This place is literally garbage! It's so cringe. Place is falling apart and owners don't care at all. A toilet seat is cleaner than this place. Went in with a friend to play pool. Kathy took our rental money (currently $5 for 65 minutes, which I think is a very geed deal). She was very kind to us. We had one drink each. It came to $12 and I gave her a $20 bill and walked away. She came out to out table to give me my change and I said that was for her. It is cool, though, that she didn't assume. Kathy was very kind to us, and we will be back. Next time for bowling and not to play pool (that was the original plan until my friend said she had never played pool). But Kathy (if I got the name wrong it's whoever was working 4/17/23 in the bar on the night shift) was very nice to us. Will definitely be back. read more

Nope.. came here for my son's 8th birthday, we weren't having a birthday party there, just some family bowling. We've been to other bowling alleys in the Carson Valley, and we won't come back. It has a standard issue bowling alley feel to it, but that was the least of what bothered us. We come in, get a lane and shoes, no big deal. We start bowling and the group to the right of us starts having issues with their lane so the employee moves them over toward us, still not a problem, in fact I kind of felt bad because that's super annoying. We get about halfway through out first game and then we start having issues with our lane, right after the first players first frame, and additional half turn was added, I know this doesn't make sense so let me see if I can explain: my son bowled his two turns, but instead of the play moving to the next player, the first player was still highlighted as if they had a third turn (not the tenth frame) so he bowled for a third time which ultimately needed up being the first bowl for the next player. If that makes sense, there was a glitch. I tried to tell the employee who seemed confused and kind of annoyed. They reset the frame and we were able to continue. A few frames later the entire one froze. I had to see take employee again, he couldn't fix it so he moved is over one lane to the left. We were able to finish that game and we started a second. About halfway through we started experiencing the same thing as the first lane, and I had to go see the employee again who reset the frame and then again the entire lane stopped working, and we were yet again moved one lane over to the left. Ok. When it's my youngest sons turn to bowl the bumpers go up and only one side works, only about 2 feet of the other bumper came up resulting in many gutter balls, needless he was bummed and after show whole ordeal and several lane changes, we were just ready to leave. They did, however, give us 50% off our shoe rentals so.... Woohoo I guess. We won't be back. read more

Such a friendly place. Our lane would not start, but someone was already on it in seconds. He would jump in and help us with whatever we needed. Hisband is also in a wheelchair and having the equipment for him definitely added to our experience. The place is clean and has a full bar. Prices are reasonable. We had so much fun here. Bathroom is also clean and no line. My family and I definitely enjoyed our time here and will be back for sure. Thank you for a great NYE experience!!! read more

Came from Southern California to visit my father for Father's Day weekend and wanted to come here to bowl. Good reviews from previous patrons so might as well try it out. We get there and there are 2 groups bowling with no employees in sight. We stand for several minutes to register for a lane and acquire our shoes. The young man walks over and after asking for prices, he says that no lanes are available and there is a tournament starting at 6. 24 lanes available with two teams playing....very disappointed at their priorities when one lane to rent out is $22 and to play in a league is close to $4. So you just wasted money coming in and several people leaving unhappy. At this time, you can not afford that. Very disappointed. read more

We've been twice once just to play a couple of games and everyone was very helpful. It's clean and fairly priced. Second time we called days ahead to reserve a lane for my child's birthday. All was well except that I had to remind them of the personalized birthday pin he was suppose to get as part of the package (online). Seems it was lost in paperwork or forgotten all together. Cons: The food is normal snack at food and cooked well, but extremely overpriced for the portions. Example a Large Chips & Nacho Cheese is a 3/4 filled red dinner basket of chips and about 1/4 cup of cheese for $7.50!! The 1/2 lb of tots and fries are exactly 2 hand fulls. For some reason that doesn't seem like a 1/2 lb, but I could be wrong. They also don't serve pizza which everyone in our party found odd as pizza is usually a go-to party food at bowling alleys. read more

Had a wonderful time at the cosmic bowling this evening with the family and some friends from out of town. My 13 year old daughter was visiting from California and there's not much to do that she's interested in however bowling lights up her eyes and she met her new friend that has the same name we decided to go to the bowling alley and they had a blast. The only quarrel I have is that the guy tried to charge us for 3 hours when I know dang well good and sure that we did not use the lane for 3 hours. Other than that no complaints it's a clean bowling alley with a nice bar that separate from the bowling Lanes. read more

What a great place! We visited midweek about 1pm over the hill from South Lake Tahoe. It was worth the drive! They had the black lights on and the disco balls spinning. Awesome environment. The staff was very patient and kind and made us feel cared for. Food was solid, if not memorable. Prices were GREAT. Bowling alley was clean, computers felt new and up to date. Bowling was fun and being from Los Angeles price was awesome. We got two lanes and one kept getting stuck. They were on it and it was fixed right away. Place was clean and prices were reasonable. Staff was nice. Would definitely bowl here again. I wish I could rate the bar separately. Look at your receipts Kayla charges you for drinks you didn't have. I didn't notice till I was already back home when I saw she charged me for two margaritas when I only bought one. You can't mix and match a bucket of beer. They ran out of tangueray and offered to substitute it for Bombay. I don't know why they don't have extra bottles in the back. Bowled in the state tournament at this facility. I was very impressed with the inside. Pros: The bar was very nice with a great atmosphere, The huge couch to lounge and great spot to sit at the bar and watch TV. The party room with 4 lanes is a great feature. Cons: It seemed the lanes were real dirty that was getting all over the balls, hands and clothes. Not sure if it was the oil they use or just the lanes. The ball returns kept jamming up and one time my ball got stuck just spinning, getting rubber all over the ball. read more

My husband and I showed up on a Tuesday night, during league so it was understandable that there were no lanes, UNTIL at 8:30 when a majority of the lanes were clear did we ask if we could bowl one or two games before closing. We had been shooting pool in the bar area. The clerk distainfully told us "No" and told us as soon as the league games were over they were closing. Posted hours are until 9pm. We would have stopped bowling and left at 9. Really poor service. Obviously no interest in non league customers. read more

My husband and I went there on our way to Tahoe on Friday, July 21, 2017 and had a great time! The facility was very clean and the staff was polite and friendly. We bowled 5 games benefiting from the early bird special of $2 per person per game. We plan to stop by whenever we travel through Gardnerville. Great place to bowl! Update: July 16, 2018 My husband and I returned to Winks twice this year on our way to Tahoe and back home. We could not resist their summer deal 2 for 1 in the afternoon. Winks is one of the best places to bowl. The owners take pride in their business and have excellent customer service. I am amazed of how the lanes are so well maintained. This place is great! New management took over April 1st and you can tell they are committed to a great experience for their customers. The lanes are clean and well maintained, there is a bar and a snack bar (we were going to dinner after so we only got to try the fries and a slushy but both were delicious). There is even a small arcade with video games and air hockey. Prices are very fair and we had a great time bowling with our friends. The service couldn't have been friendlier or better. Wink's definitely gets five stars because of Trent, one of their regular bartenders. As a young guy in the ranchos, I usually drive into town to have a beer, but any time Trent is behind the bar at the bowling alley, I go there instead. He always promotes their "Throwback Thursday" pricing. Trent is a through and through local who makes everyone feel at home. read more

What has happened to customer service? We called wink's Silver Strike Lanes to let them know that our son would be coming in today with two friends to celebrate his birthday. We asked about pricing and let the worker on the phone know that he would be bringing in a few pieces of birthday cake with him. All ok'd and confirmed over the phone. Today we show up to pay ahead and get our son settled while he waited for his guests to arrive. We were told NO cake allowed unless we paid for a private party... Way more than the cost for the three of them to bowl three games each. Instead of ruining our son's special day we went ahead and paid for three games for each kid and ordered them all food ( and we had to take the cake back out). What happened to customer service?? What happened to honoring what your employees tell people?? Wouldn't it have been easy to let the three piece of cake be brought to in than to loose a customer from ever returning? Pretty sad when someone would rather drive to Carson City in the future due to receiving poor customer service than to shop in our town. read more

We were in town for my niece's graduation during Memorial Day weekend 2016. We met up with some old friends and decided to go bowling. Winks Silver Strikes was the PERFECT place! The staff was extremely nice and helpful, and the food was SO DELICIOUS!!! That was a surprise as you don't usually expect much at a bowling alley! My husband had the club sandwich on marble rye and he said it was one of the best sandwiches he's ever had! We would highly recommend this place! Lots of fun, good service and yummy food! read more
