My friend and I were looking to move to a new place and wanted to move out and in on the same day. Given that the building I was moving to had strict moving policies and a limited time period to move stuff in, I scheduled time with Gulia and her team and I hopped on Zoom to assess what needed to be transported. As the main point of contact, she's warm, transparent about costs, and laid out the best strategy: 3-man job, 9-hours to complete. On moving day, Frank, Aidyn, and Sergey arrived with masks and were the most professional and capable movers I've worked with. They had a plan to wrap and move every piece of furniture into the truck, was able to do the same with my friend's stuff, and quickly loaded it in the new building. I have to give them bonus points because they were kind to my roommates as they were moving stuff out, friendly to the building staff, and considerate to my unit neighbors as they moved my stuff in. They didn't waste a minute - That 9-hour quote turned out to be 5.5 hours once everything was done! Whenever my friends or co-workers are looking for movers, I'll definitely recommend them. PRO TIP: Try to book as early as possible. Given COVID-19 and the exodus from SF, I started talking to Gulia 4 weeks before the move so we could tentatively lock in a spot. During the move, Frank, Sergey, and Aidyn said they haven't had an empty slot for the past month.

After countless moves over the years, it's safe to say that even with extensive experience (with…read moreboth residential and office relocations), moving can get easier yet it never seems to get any less stressful. The reality is: choosing the right team can make the difference between a smooth transition and feeling like you're starring in your own disaster film. I've had friends who have seen boxes disappear after sitting them outside their house mid-move.. ouch! I've noticed reliability has become as easy as finding a parking spot in Downtown San Francisco before 6pm. Several movers (that I won't name here) weren't able to show up as promised. When Tom from West Coast Moving actually showed up on time with all the necessary equipment, I nearly wept with relief! The little things really do make ALL the difference! West Coast Moving moved quickly and efficiently - and what really impressed me was Tom's willingness to go above the beyond. As I wandered around my new apartment to figure out the layout, Tom assisted with getting my art up and rearranged my furniture! I had a couple of collections that needed to be grouped together, and Tom brought out some tools to ensure my art was leveled and centered! This was a pleasant surprise as some movers in the past have needed to be prompted repeatedly. Some have struggled to understand my requests, either due to language barriers or lack of alignment. I'm happy to have not even had to lift a finger. Tom showed incredible patience as I was trying to figure out whether my bookshelf looked better by the window or against the wall. He helped me install my string lights to create the perfect indirect lighting. He handled my belongings with care. He was very responsive to my endless stream of questions and concerns. It's rare to find someone who takes customer service this seriously in the moving industry. No wonder there are so many 5-star reviews. So happy to support a fantastic local business that really delivers (pun intended)! Thank you very much, Tom! You're the best!!

The driver, who was elderly and not capable of moving heavy boxes, did not bring a single person to assist with the drop-off. Instead, I was forced to drag a king mattress, 40+ moving boxes, a 60-inch TV, fragile artwork, and a 70-inch solid wood desk up my driveway without any assistance at 7 AM. Even better, the enormous moving truck blocked my neighbors from exiting our cul-de-sac as they desperately tried to get to work on time. When I spoke to Darcy Quinn about the mishap, she apologized profusely and said what occurred was completely unacceptable and unanticipated. But after speaking with "customer service" she offered us just $100, (1.5% of our total moving cost) for the "inconvenience." According to Darcy and A and P, unloading thousands of pounds of furniture from a truck into your home is worth less than 1.5% of your move. If you disagree, and think unloading your furniture is a big reason you're spending several thousand dollars for other people to do exactly that, get another cheaper option and save yourself thousands of dollars. Further, the items were not properly stored and transported. I guess one benefit of doing the move myself is that I got to see inside the messy, haphazard truck. Our expensive mattress arrived with a major splotch of black mold and mildew (see below). It was in perfect condition, as evidenced by the inventory sheet when it was packed. The only thing between it and the floor of the moving truck was a thin sheet of plastic. My solid wood desk (also in perfect condition on the inventory sheet) arrived with a chunk missing. It was laid bare on the wall with the protective blankets tangled below. Finally, my $1k+ steelcase chair was entirely missing. Finally, Darcy, the website, and emails provided by A and P and Bekins, indicated that the "driver and his crew will prepare your house by protecting the floors and doorways" and assist with unloading items into your home. That's a direct quote from their "drop off" FAQ. The driver did not step one foot inside my garage, home, or even my driveway. To suddenly not offer assistance at the last minute without explanation is clearly contrary to their assurances and advertising. All that said, find another moving company and representative that cares about your experience and belongings, or just move it yourself. But whatever you do, don't use Darcy Quinn/A and P, or you'll somehow end up paying $7k to move every single thing you own into your new home by yourself.
