She came back to purchase some items for her clinicals. She had the receipt for these two items that were never used nor opened. She was told they could be returned with a receipt and unopened. I was with her in the store when the owner spoke very rudely to my daughter and said these clearly have been opened the pass package is dented in and we do not sell items like this. I walked over to the other items on the shelf that they had hanging for sale that were exactly the same, and all these were dented in also the plastic on them when I'd let her know how rudely she was talking to my daughter she said well this one time I'll return them but they're clearly opened. I said oh so you're calling my daughter a liar. She said not one word and refunded the money. My daughter nor I will ever shop here again and I'll tell everybody who's thinking about shopping here about our experience. Even after I posted this review, the owner of the store contacted me and said they apologized that I wasn't happy, but who would be happy when they've been called a liar or dishonest and who would wanna contact them back or do business with them I don't understand. There is nothing else to discuss regardless of whether they issued a refund. It's the principle of this bad for the bad review.

I've shopped this brand online for years. It's not cheap stuff... but... it's not cheap stuff, if…read moreyou know what I mean. Seemingly small details like the finish of the stitching and bigger details like the materials used make a difference! Everyone needs to decide what's best for them, obviously... but I don't mind paying a few extra $$ for better quality. In my opinion, it pays off in the long run. For those of you who, like me, buy 5.11 online... I encourage you to drop by a store sometime! For whatever reason, it took me years to step foot into a store... but I'm glad I finally did. I think many (most?) of us have gotten so used to buying online that we forget what it's like to be able to wander around and feel the material used for each product, try things on, etc. It's time well spent every once in awhile.

Just a little back story for the record, I've been going to this particular store for many years…read moreand I've spent thousands there and I've always spoken highly of the products. I've brought many friends, family and coworkers there as well to give 5.11 business. But let me tell you! I don't know what happened to this store and how they pick their staff now, but they are absolute trash. Ever since the old store manager left this store has hired the worst people and the store always looks like crap. The old manager had this location looking good, fully stocked and her team was on point and very professional. They lost the true face of 5.11 on that one. I recently went to this 5.11 location on Friday March 28th with my family to see if things changed and I was reminded for the final time why I will NEVER return again. The guy in the front said something when we walked in and never said another peep or offered to assist with anything at all the whole time we were there. That's not even what bothered me. What made me absolutely livid was when the female worker blew my father off mid-sentence when he was asking her a question about their sale and said "It just depends" with a snarky attitude and TURNED HER BACK ON HIM AND WALKED TO THE BACK OF THE STORE. I almost lit her up. I'm done with 5.11 once and for all and I know deep down many others are as well. Shame on this company for allowing such people to work there and for allowing such an environment.

At times, Dave can seem a bit crusty, but he's an older gentleman and that's just how he is - but truth be known, he's a very nice guy and very helpful to boot. The store? Well, I've yet to find a better stocked supply of genuine military-quality goods. They will pretty much have what you need, so long as you are willing to spend the time to look. Along with all of the expected inventory, Dave has some "bargain-bin items where he sells overstock items at truly incredible prices. Visit this store when you have the extra time to dig, and thoroughly look around. The owner prices items entirely on what he has to pay for his inventory. What that means is that sometimes "well worn" items may be mixed in a bin with brand new items that are actually priced lower. It's up to the buyer to do their due diligence in inspecting your purchase - which is why it's SURPLUS. Action also stocks and sells a lot of brand new clothing and gear that can be a bit pricey compared to buying the same items on-line. But if it's something you really need, then spending a few extra dollars for the privilege to inspect and try on your purchase, then it's well worth it. Many customers are there to buy for cosplay or paintball combat. My focus (and viewpoint for this review) is to purchase mil-spec quality tools and gear because it lasts many times longer than cheap Chinese crap that is sold everywhere else.
