Called today for service, and he gave us so so much advice! We were able to fix temporarily to get us home.

I had this one owner business out to my house this winter. First time he was great. On time, fixed…read moreproblem and did an overview of other work and possible damages on my RV... However, the 2nd and 3rd time he was 2 hours late, always blaming having to take care of a child, traffic, weather, another job or what not. I mean over 2 hours or more. He really only wants to work only on big money projects. Not little things. He also wanted to work in the dark on my RV in the cold. I did not think that was a good idea, so after a couple more long waits and re-scheduled appts. I never heard from him again. The guy knows his stuff but is a little arrogant and puts little jobs on the back burners or wants to work late at night.

Tor was a blessing! My trailer was in the care of renters in at Sugar Pine Pt. (130 miles from…read moreme). They called complaining of a propane leak much to my dismay. After countless calls to establishments in the area, Tor's vmail message set my expectations for communicating with him. The first thing he said after my explanation was "turn off the gas." The only person that considers safety over money. He clearly outlined availability, potential cause, and expected effort. He connected with my renter and even advised us when his ETA was impacted by traffic, while on the way (over an hour drive). His professionalism aided in my ability to provide golden service to my customer and probably saved their vacation. Although I was not present I was made aware of everything along the way through text messages after the initial phone call. As a courtesy he even pointed out an additional repair that would probably be necessary in the near future and suggested it was something I could do myself. I'm eternally grateful. If I lived in that area he would have earned my exclusive patronage. Sincerely!

A story: Coming out of Lake Tahoe heading down the 89 Monitor Pass (some of the most beautiful…read moreviews) about 3/4 of the way down we start losing brakes. Both brake pedal and emergency brake pedal were floored...nothing. We are in first gear. Smoke is billowing out from the brakes Fluid boiling. Still not stopping. Fuck. Decision time. 1. Cross over and run her into the mountain to stop her or 2. Gather the girls, jump out and let her go over the side. I try the first option and she finally stopped. Disaster averted. We hug, we cry, we shake and walk it off. About an hour later a CHP pulls up and radios AAA for us (no service up there). He waits with us and keeps us safe (thank you @chp) 2 hours later the rig shows up and tows us to Bob's in Garnerville, NV. We sleep there and wake up to a new day. Inspection time. Back brakes survived, front brakes are torched. Nothing salvageable. Bob (the owner) and Gerry (the mechanic) are right on it. Coffee offered, lets us use his truck to get the girls some shopping therapy. Gerry is the nicest guy you ever want to meet. Walks me through the steps, brags about his Snap On tools (suuuper jealous!) and we share stories. Stories are what life is all about. That is all we have is our stories. We sit around campfires and living rooms and sometimes, if you're lucky, RV repair shops in remote places and share them with other people who are more like you than different. These are the adventures of life that I am passing on and getting a few more in for myself. What seems uncomfortable to us is everyday for them. Gerry shared a story of a family from Europe who lost a wheel bearing traveling in their modified WW2 era Mercedes ambulance that they had shipped to Argentina and drove all the way to Canada! They were here for two weeks camping out on property waiting for the part to come from Europe. Every night the chairs would come out, a propane fire pit would be set up, BBQ grilling and making the best out of situation you have no control over. No hotels, just living out of their rig on property. Making stories. Living. For us, we will be back on the road in a few hours, a day behind "our schedule", Ol' Bessie will have some new brakes (and I threw in a new U Joint for good measure) and we all will be richer for the experience. So, if you are ever in need of service or some parts or just a conversation with good people stop by Bob's and say hi. If you happen to break down within a hundred miles of here INSIST on getting towed here. If your story is in the middle of the night like ours was, he even leaves out a 30 amp cord and a water hookup to so you feel a bit safer and taken care of til morning. Thank you to everyone at Bob's. You gave us some great stories to share around the next fire.

Hats off to this fine repair facility. I recently found myself stranded about 45 miles from their…read moreshop, and arranged a tow. I spoke with them by phone, told them what I needed repaired, and gave them the information on my vehicle. I wouldn't be able to get there by closing, and they offered electrical hookup if I needed it since I would be spending the night in my rig. Their first tech was there at 7:30 the next morning, and soon started work on my vehicle. They had pre-ordered the part, and thanks to their rapid and skilled help I was soon on my way. Their pricing was extremely fair, and their quick service, knowing I was on vacation, was greatly appreciated. Thanks again to all of them that helped save my vacation!

Well, driving our diesel pusher motorhome on our first leg of our journey from Acton to Bishop our…read moreAC went from cold to warm about 1/2 way through the desert. I smelled a slight odor similar to truck brakes that have been used too much down hill. I assumed everything was okay because no lights came on and no gauge indications had changed. The only thing different was it was very warm in the cabin. Our final destination was Idaho. We pulled in to Bishop and backed the Motorhome in our friends driveway then shut off the motor. AND THEN... Smoke came billowing from the back of the rig... OH CRAP was our only thought. After taking some fire prevention actions, the serpentine belt that turns pulleys for the alternator, water pump, and, yes, the AC, melted off and fell to the ground. That was Monday June 10, 2019. I spent Tuesday hunting down everyone in Bishop qualified and able to work on diesel engines and replace an AC compressor. That netted me ONE business, namely Britts Diesel. They have an excellent reputation in town, however, they could not fit me in for two weeks. I don't have two weeks of my life to just sit around waiting to get an AC compressor replaced. Britts Diesel said I would have to get my rig towed to them. Turns out the closest tow truck that can haul a 43' diesel pusher is in Gardnerville which is about 180 miles away. The cost was $300.00 an hour port to port. WOW!! So I called GUIDED TRUCK AND REPAIR in Gardnerville Nevada... This turned out to be the best call I have EVER made regarding ANY BUSINESS transaction... EVER!!! Kory basically dropped everything for us because he knew we were 100% stranded. He had two weeks worth of work in front of him also. However, he had pity on us because of our situation and because we live in our motorhome. We ended up having the motorhome towed all the way to Gardnerville and to GUIDED TRUCK AND REPAIR. This for same price as it would have cost for the tow truck to come from Gardnerville to get us, tow us only a few miles to Britts Diesel in Bishop, and then return to his home town of Gardnerville. Kory at GUIDED TRUCK AND REPAIR was so incredibly professional, so polite, so respectful, so accommodating, and every other compliment you can give a person in customer service. Kory was truly a blessing in many ways including an excellent mechanic. The rest of the details really don't matter for this Yelp review. However, for the "take away" of this real life experience, please know how much this customer truly appreciates Kory and the entire crew at GUIDED TRUCK AND REPAIR in Gardnerville Nevada. They are beyond amazing and professional and polite genuine GOOD PEOPLE!!!!! THANK YOU, Kory, April, and Becky!!! Thank you!!!

We have a 2008 Sport Chassis that pulls our home on wheels. We had just started a two month trek…read moreand on the fourth day we had a leak....or should I say gusher....from the high pressure fuel rail. It was on a Sunday so I fixed the leak enough for us to limp back to our RV. On Monday morning I called Guided but didn't receive a call back. I called again around 11:30.....on the correct number....and immediately received a call back from Kory. Note to self....call the right number! Kory asked if we could get it to them around 1:00 so I once again fixed it so that I could limp it over to them. Kory greeted us as we walked in, by name, and took our vehicle in. Let me tell you folks, the professionalism and honesty we received from this company from start to finish was exceptional. After about two hours being there they diagnosed the problem and we were on our way. We were totally expecting to have to have the fuel rail replaced, but it was merely a bad washer. Not only one bad washer but they also found there were two washers where there was only supposed to have been one. As people just traveling through the area, they could have said it was the fuel rail and milked us for more money than we needed to pay. My wife even asked them if they were sure they added everything right because it didn't cost as much as we thought it would! All in all, if you want exceptional, quality work done with highly professional and respectful people, then don't call anyone other than Guided! I just wish there were more people out there like this company. Thank you Kory, April and Gary....and any other workers that I didn't catch their name. You guys are amazing!!!
