Who would think a farm store has five (5), that's FIVE brand new Kel Tec PMR 30's on display (in…read morestock). One all black and four in OD Green. I hunted every gun store I could think of looking for one of these, and their sticker price is lower than most everywhere else. The store is clean, neat and employees are friendly & personable. The gentleman at the gun counter was eager to assist me and was more than helpful answering questions. Great unknown spot adjacent to the outlet mall. Easy to find and tons of parking. Seeing as how we moved to Federal Way, I'll be spending more time there.

This store is an absolute joke. Ad comes out with a couple weeks left on it with RV antifreeze buy…read more2 at reg price and get one free. Great deal and I needed 6 so perfect. Drive about 1/2 hr there and find a small somewhat hidden display with no product. Ask an employee wearing a mask LOL if they have more. He gives the standard "this isn't my dept" response but does call for someone to help me. 5 minutes and no one shows up so I seek out a women stocking shelves and she says "that isn't my dept" but is kind enough to check inventory on a handheld scanner. While she's doing this a mouse runs down the aisle next to us. She rolls her eyes like this is a common occurrence. She finds out they have none in stock despite there being another couple weeks of the sale. I go up front to get a rain check. No one there. Finally someone comes and gives me a rain check but says she doesn't know when or if they will get anymore. This is classic bait and switch. They probably had 10 gallons total but hope to get people in there to buy other more expensive items as they scour the store for the hidden empty shelf. I'm done with this store. It isn't the first time it's has happened.

After repeated poor customer service experiences, I've decided to stop shopping at the Tacoma Bass Pro Shops and will likely take my business elsewhere altogether. At the Tacoma store, asking for help consistently feels like an inconvenience to employees. Checkout interactions have also been cold and dismissive, both in tone and body language. Recently, my wife asked whether she qualified for a military discount. Instead of explaining the requirements, the cashier abruptly asked, "Where's your military ID?" That exchange reflects the way we've been treated there on multiple visits. The one exception to the lack of attention is the credit card pitch. Employees are quick to approach you about signing up as soon as you walk through the door, sometimes so persistently that it feels awkward and intrusive. I wish that same attention went toward helping customers once they're shopping. I had a similar experience at the Cabela's in Lacey while purchasing a firearm. I didn't know I needed to sign in on a touchscreen before approaching the firearms counter. When I went to ask for help, the employee made me feel foolish for not knowing the process. Customers should be treated with basic courtesy whether they're spending $10 or thousands. These repeated interactions have cost Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's my business. I'll be shopping with a competitor.
