But the worst part is that the person who did their cleaning was so rough on their gums by their wisdom teeth that they have been in pain for a few days now and it's affecting their life quite a bit. I was hoping it was just sensitivity from the cleaning but it just seems to be getting worse days later. They had no pain in that area prior to this visit. But now they have no more coverage because of the excessive charge on the visit that caused them the pain. So I'm not too sure what they are going to do and it's concerning. Especially since they are hurting so badly.

From the moment I walked in, the front desk team was super friendly and helpful. They made check-in easy and answered all my questions about scheduling and costs without any confusion. It's always nice to walk into a place where the staff actually seems to care. They even submitted my portion to the insurance so I didn't have to deal with it and only paid my portion which is super helpful financially. The dental assistants were great too and they were super professional and reassuring. I was very nervous to get a root canal but they made sure I was comfortable the whole time, explained what was happening, and checked in with me throughout the procedure. It made a big difference in keeping me relaxed. Dr. Singh was fantastic. He explained everything clearly, took his time, and made sure I wasn't feeling any pain. You can tell he really knows what he's doing, and I appreciated how calm and professional he was throughout the whole process. Overall, I had a great experience at Signal Hill Dental Centre. No one wants to get a root canal, but if you have to, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend Dr. Singh and his team! Not only did we get the chance to meet and greet, but they even had a "Fun" free introduction day for kids. They did the office up in Dr. Seuss theme, with a free goodie bag (including a full Dr. Seuss book!), tour of the dental chair and tools, face painting, craft stations and much more. Although Springbank Dental is quite a bit of a drive out of my way, Dr. Szott and his staff make it worthwhile. I am actually wanting to transfer over myself from my close to home dentist. I highly recommend!!

When I first got there the receptionist 'Julie' didn't acknowledge my presents because she busy taking a personal call. Lucky me I got to overhear about what she'll be doing Friday night (it didn't impress me). FINALLY she hung up 'sighed' then said : "Can I help you?" With a snarky undertone strike #1. I was handed laminated forms to fill out, when done I returned to the desk to hand them in, what I assume is a regular client barged in started up a conversation and handed over forms... meanwhile I was ignored and served after the fact. Strike #2. When 'Julie was ready to help me, she thought I was my Mom and retyped my info into her account.... duh we have different first names...I was burdened by having to answer my account info and re-enter my Mom's account aswell. When I got hulled back to take x-rays of my teeth, The girl who was helping me looked no older than 20, she never once introduced herself she was very precocious throwing medical knowledge without the Dentist diagnosis... honey, Your not the PROFESSIONAL (keep you opinions to yourself). Than she awkwardly tried to relate with me on a personal level but instead blabbed narcissistic nonsense for 15 minutes, never giving me an edge word. Before I knew it she pulled out a camera to take photos of my mouth ambushing my privacy bubble with a camera to my face and said: "smile". Strike #3. I waited a half hour to see the dentist (Gough) who properly introduced himself and explained that he had an emergency patient... Replying with: "sorry for the hold up". - "Okay he's off the hook". However, what irritated me most is waiting and Nobody explained to me what was going on ahead before hand, and I was ALONE sitting in a chair.... starring at a wall. They could of at least offered me water or the TV to watch something... but from what I've experience so far- Richmond Dental Clinic doesn't offer 5 star service or care about their patients! During my cleaning with the Dental Hygienist she explained that she was just a TEMP.... great- NOT! I was then forced to hear about "Day of Our Lives" all because She asked if I watched Daytime TV... At that moment I should have lied and responded with a firm 'no'... I didn't want to be rude and put the headphones on while she was talking...So I endured drilling and scrapping (something I'd hoped to be distracted with while watching TV)... I was completely uncomfortable with clenched fist and curled toes..... when 1 hour went by she abruptly stopped and said: "I have another booked appointment- you will have to come back another day and schedule a teeth cleaning...." OMFG!!!!! So NOW I have to pay for ANOTHER appointment because you won't finish my teeth? She than changed her tone and flat out changed the story to: "well most people get recommend to comeback again for another appointment, because If I polish your teeth NOW it won't look okay... it's very common." I felt scammed and cheated, I've taken dental classes through my Veterinary training.... none of this is logical or truthful! This is NOT FAIR!!!! The previous experience I had with a dentist: The lady had 1 eye and only completed my top teeth... Why does this happen to me?... I'd had hoped I would get a proper cleaning in 1 sitting and turn a leaf on my negative opinion towards going to the dentist! I wish it ended there... but theirs more.... The receptionist tried to charge my mothers medical plan instead of mine, of coarse it was rejected... but it irked me BECAUSE I HANDED her my insurance card personally... instead she never glanced at it and assumed I was on the same plan as my mother....I doubt I will return.

As you will see from his website (not related to his practice, but Periodontics is mentioned), Dr. Yu is young, smart and very disciplined. How can you not trust someone of his caliber? When you read about the doctor, Yu know you are in good hands. When you have ridiculous talent and achievements like this guy, it's safe to say he's not a slacker and will do what he can to perfection. The office is beautiful (which includes a piano in it), the secretary is very attentive and the staff I encountered are also young and hip, appearing to actually have a good time at work. I had some major dental surgery which included my first experience with Ativan, and I can tell you that Dr. Yu and his peeps took very good care of me. I appreciated that he kept asking me throughout the surgery if I was okay and thanked me when I followed his instructions. We all even took a little stretch break half way through. He and his assistant chatted about life intermittently and had a few laughs. That actually entertained me and made me feel comfortable with them, also trusting they were still focused on the job. I received very thorough postoperative instructions and his direct contact number in case I had issues over the weekend. At this point, it's only 72hrs post surgery, but my gums look less like hamburger now and I can tell that upon healing, the job will likely be stellar. I follow-up with him in two weeks and look forward to it.
