He said we needed perfection. The last time I had my teeth cleaned, I was scheduled for 45 minutes, but it only took 30 min. and the cost was adjusted accordingly. Today, I was expecting that a crown would have to be removed in order to fill a cavity beneath it. The cavity was able to be filled without damage to the crown. Dr. Hwang explained what he was doing each step of the way. I felt comfortable during the procedure and would definitely recommend Dentists at Beddington Heights to others.

I found that Hans was terrific as a dentist and perfectionist at heart and always seeing the procedure through to a proper conclusion. I knew that I was in good hands with him. The team support too, was very good, they were both - friendly - and professional. The problem that I had with this office was on the management side of things; so much so, that I elected to lodge my concerns with the Alberta Dental Association. I informed the staff at 360 that I don't do business that way and moved on and in doing so, discovered a great office! I would suggest to any new patient going to any office, to ensure that you get a suggest that you get a treatment plan in writing prior to undergoing any treatment. That way, everyone is on the same page with less room for misunderstanding.

Wednesday, surgery day, after paying up front for the procedure, Dr Bureau tells me he is not convinced the tooth should come out. If he truly had reservations, why wait till surgery day and not a day prior? I thought it weird to bring up. I repeated what was discussed Monday and he tells me that once the tooth is gone, he can't put it back in. Super condescending and I'm not a child. Sunday I hurt the extraction site and I call Dr Bureau as he's on call. Heres his answer after me telling him why I'm calling, "what do you want me to do about it?". wow! I am 30 years…read moreold and finally gathered up the courage to get my wisdom teeth out after many years of my dentist recommending it. I was really nervous because my bottom wisdom teeth were impacted and close to the nerve, so I knew I'd likely need to go under general anesthesia. I am terrified of needle and all medical things really, so I didn't think I could go through with it! But when my wisdom teeth started to cause lots of discomfort (headaches mostly), I knew I had to get them removed. So I asked my dentist for a referral, and they sent me to Dr. Bureau for a consultation. The office is very comfortable, clean, and professional. The front desk staff is very friendly and approachable, and they are very helpful with health insurance questions and estimates! My consultation was informative and helped put my mind at ease. Dr. Bureau explained the procedure thoroughly, and I didn't feel rushed or silly for being nervous. They were very understanding. Nevertheless, when I went in for my surgery a few months later, I was still very anxious. I had done way too much googling beforehand and was stressing myself out. I was prescribed a couple 0.5mg Ativan to calm my nerves, which helped a lot (would highly recommend)!! The gal at the front desk was so sweet & understanding. She reassured me everything would be fine & had such a calming voice! She was very kind. When it was time to go in, I was ready!! They used a gas to put me to sleep initially, and then they inserted an IV when I was passed out. I am really glad they did it this way because IVs freak me out, lol! I took 3 inhales of the gas and was out like a light! When I woke up, it was all over, and much easier than I had worked up in my head! They gave me a tasty popsicle and a fancy ice pack headband, and I felt so brave! Haha! My husband had picked up my prescriptions from the pharmacy in the building while I was in surgery -- again, everything was so organized! The lovely people at the reception area gave me some more information and sent me home with everything I needed (gauze, syringe, information booklet, receipts for the insurance providers, etc.). Everyone was so helpful. After the procedure, I healing up very nicely! The first 2-3 days were the most swollen, but the fancy ice pack headband helped with that! Eat lots of soft food, like apple sauce & mashed potatoes, and follow all aftercare instructions, and you should be good! :)

Not only did we get the chance to meet and greet, but they even had a "Fun" free introduction day for kids. They did the office up in Dr. Seuss theme, with a free goodie bag (including a full Dr. Seuss book!), tour of the dental chair and tools, face painting, craft stations and much more. Although Springbank Dental is quite a bit of a drive out of my way, Dr. Szott and his staff make it worthwhile. I am actually wanting to transfer over myself from my close to home dentist. I highly recommend!!

No one wants to visit the dentist. When Dr. Patel is looking after me I feel completely comfortable. I literally feel nothing when she uses the needle to freeze my mouth. During the entire time my comfort is what's most important. "You're going to feel a pinch." "You're going to feel vibration." "Are you doing OK? Just raise your hand if you want me to stop." "Now I'm going to do this." And so on. With past dentists I would have a sore jaw and gums for days after. Not with Dr. Patel! I no longer cringe at the thought of visiting the dentist! The dental hygienists and front desk staff are just the icing on the cake. Fun folks but still very professional!

Dr. Art Piercy Owner ---------------------------- He flat out refuses to give reasonable rates, graduated in the 70's and feels his "experience" allows him to "price gouge." Keep in mind computers didn't even exist back then. Previous Employee Tells us How it Works --------------------------------------------------------- Art bills each "dentist" a set fee for each procedure they do. Ex: Root Canal, (3 roots/filling) Art gets $1148 for everyone sold and the dentist gets % of what's left over. They charge $1500 PLUS $300 for the filling. Each "dentist" is billed out at full rate, No matter the what country or year graduated. Your Dentist will try to max your Insurance --------------------------------------------------------- Look for a dentist with reasonable rate. Retail price for root canals in Edmonton around $500 and Calgary around $1000. One of art's "special root canals" will cost you $2000 and will max out most insurance plans. I am 63 years old and the dentist has never been anywhere near a comfortable experience. That has changed significantly in the last 7 years since going to Linh and her sisters. Linh has been remarkably tolerant of my panic attacks and bad attitude. And, she has done the best work on my teeth that I've experienced in 50+ years. I have referred many friends. My favourite niece recently had two implants done to front teeth that were damaged playing basketball. Linh did an outstanding job on the implants. Oh, and Belinda is the best at giving me freezing - even on the painful roof-of-the-mouth! All the staff and assistants are patient and kind as well. I strongly encourage you to please check these lovely and competent dentists out. I am certain I will be a life-long client.

That's another review for another day and as Dr. Tamminen stated to me (when I showed up at his office with the emergency of needing the crown of my implant (less than a few months old) put back in) there is a reason Dentists and Doctors call their work their practice ;-) The real gem at this office is Edna -- she is always so pleasant and super on top of everything up front. And being as the receptionist is your first impression, she really sets the tone for the visit. The office is fairly bare bones -- no fancy television sets here (which is okay -- I am there to get my teeth cleaned, not catch up on Ellen), but the ceiling is decorated with motivational posters reminiscent of Scholastic Book Fairs. That's kind of fun to check out while you lie back and attempt to have a conversation with your mouth full. Besides having an implant due to an impacted adult tooth, I have never had any major dental issues -- no cavities, no need for braces, etc. so having a dentist and his team that just gets right down to business of scaling is perfect for me. I don't need distractions. I just wish they had bubblegum flavored flouride. Seriously, mint is for boring grown ups ;-)
