Absolute worst service that I've had anywhere!! Bar none! The scraggly looking guy (beard, lt brown hair, trucker hat. He looks like he should be sitting outside begging for money) was so rude. We stopped in on Sat 11/2/24 at around 7:20pm.. We were getting rung up, when I asked about the muffaletta, I wanted to know if I should pick up Sun or if I should wait until Mon. He says "we don't have anything to do with Muffaletta!!!" I said " You mean you don't sell it and pointed to the cooler on the other side that held said muffaletta?? He was so f'n rude, that he put a damper on my night. What a miserable person! I've been buying Central Grocery Muffaletta from Sidney's since Central Grocery has been shut down for renovations. Every year, I buy several, I just wanted to know if I should buy them earlier or not. I think there were even signs that said to ask about the Muffaletta. I'm sure people buying them has brought a lot of business to Sidneys's, this guy should not be working with the public! There is usually a lady during the day that we normally deal with, she is pleasant.

Half Muffuletta $18 - very well packaged in its own plastic bag

The famous Muffuletta sandwiches by Central Grocery (still closed next door) are pre-made and stocked here. When you walk into the store, there is a small sign directly ahead (facing towards you on the closest wood shelf) advertising the famous Muffulettas. The Muffuletta sandwiches are stocked in a small refrigerator behind the front counter so you must ask the clerk to purchase it. A half muffuletta (cut in two pieces) is $18. A whole muffuletta is $27 (cut in four pieces) and nearly the size of a small pizza. I suggest paying cash since Sidney's charges a small surcharge fee if you use a credit card. The muffuletta is very well packaged in its own plastic bag so you do not need any additional bag for carrying. The clerk was friendly to me. The muffulettas are equally delicious as I remember eating them inside Central Grocery's store next door.

Thank you Sidney's for helping me to get the best and original muffuletta sandwich while in town! Short line, moved fast, and I was very excited as I had walked about 1mile to get this delicious sandwich, next door to original location while is being renovated. I called an the first day was sold out! but on day two I called ahead & I was able to make it down in time to get one!

Went over to Sindeys to get a muffuletta from Central Groceries. However, an employee said they've been closed for two years very rudely. He said, "they've been closed for two years and you can just Google it". While we under the impression we weren't able to buy anything from central grocery because of him later I found out that was incorrect. The employee needs to learn some manners.

Yummy in our tummy's. Can't wait to visit Central Market if we get back to NOLA

We came all the way from Los Angeles to get one of Central Grocery's unbelievable muffuletta. We had one 7 years ago and couldn't wait to have it again, they are outstanding. We found out once we got to town that Central Grocery's was being refurbished and Sidney's next door was going to offer Centrals muffuletta on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's. We went to the store on Wednesday to pickup up a FRESH muffuletta and ask the girl behind the counter if the muffuletta had arrived from Centrals off site kitchen today. We asked if the fresh batch of muffuletta had arrived and the RUDE girl told us in a very RUDE tone that these muffuletta aren't fresh because they are full of processed meats and that she "sells them, first come last sold'. She told us we were RUDE to ask if they were fresh, or if they arrived today and she continued to be a total bitch, and repeat there's nothing fresh about this sandwich. I told her the bread is. LOVED OUR MUFFULETTA even if she tried to ruin it. We couldn't believe a store would have a worker treat customers so poorly. We will NEVER go into SIDNEYS again for anything!

Don't mind the price, it's beautiful and worth every penny!

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. The only place in town that carries the coveted locally made absinthe!

They're selling central groceries' muffulettas and they're absolutely to die for. 1000% recommend getting one if you're in the area.

Nice selection but check the beers. Some of the beer is old and needs to be rotated. Over all they had a nice selection of beer.

Located in the French quarter, so parking can be challenging but relatively likely to find somewhere decent. There's tons of interesting stores, street entertainment and just beauty in the buildings all around. Now for the store.. it was moderately busy but the crew were well up with the pace to answer any and all questions along with keeping premium customer service. There wasn't a patron that walked in that wasn't greeted, even when I was being rung up for my 2 hats. Speaking of hats, there is plenty of variety. Not only in style but in price points, there's something for everyone's budget. They have a good amount of mirrors in the store to prevent you from running around to see your reflection and if the hat is a keeper. I found my 2 hats quick and didnt need to convince myself it was money well spent. I knew off the bat, these hats were exactly what I was looking for. I recommend this place and the game ball goes to miss Barbara. She rung me up and seemed to have the entire store under control. Fully focused on her job and patient with all.

It's YE Gurl Says @ The Hat Loft -- A New Orleans Legacy Still Holding…read more Let me speak on it: New Orleans, baby... she ain't what she used to be. And the construction choking Royal Street? A major faux pas. Shame on whoever signed off on that chaos, because starving out small businesses in a city built on entrepreneurship, artistry, and grit is not the move. But even in the rubble of poor city planning, the real New Orleans still shines -- especially in places like The Hat Loft, one of the last-standing OGs. Back in my student days, during my broke-but-joyful New Orleans era, I used to walk by this shop dreaming of the day I could afford a real, grown-folks hat. The kind jazz musicians tip, the kind elders nod in respect at. Well guess what? Today was that day. And YE Gurl walked in ready. The Experience Monet and the team greeted us with that old-school New Orleans warmth -- the kind you can't fabricate. The kind that makes you feel like you're somebody's cousin returning home. They walked the beau and me through the history and styles of different fedoras, including those classic musician silhouettes that are practically part of the city's DNA. The Picks We landed on two beauties: Mad Dog - Winter Pine ($140) Hitman - Black ($140) One giving jazz-club potboy realness, the other giving winter suave. And because it's New Orleans -- the land of adornment -- we added feathers to each hat: Two on one hat One on the other All $6 each, and all perfectly matched to his vibe. Lagniappe (the little extra) We even got restaurant recommendations because that's what real New Orleans businesses do: they take care of you beyond the transaction. YE Gurl's Verdict I miss the friendliness, the style, the spirit of pre-beige-washing New Orleans -- but The Hat Loft, open since 1929, does not miss. It stands tall. It stands proud. And it stands as proof that the soul of this city still lives in its people, its makers, and its Black-owned institutions that have weathered nearly a century of everything. If you're in the city, don't walk -- strut -- to The Hat Loft. The culture is alive in there. The service is real. And the hats? Baby, they're a whole mood.
