The location suited us very nicely. There is a nice grocery store nearby as well as a few restaurants (some casual, some less casual) within walking distance. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully plated. The room itself was fun and cute. The decor felt cozy and a bit.... Classic? But bathroom facilities were updated. A large jacuzzi tub was a really nice feature - though we also had a lovely but tiny shower.... Try not to drop the soap because there's no room to bend over for it! As we find ourselves in Victoria a few times a year, we would definitely consider this b&b again in the future.

It was hot during our stay so we didn't get to try the fireplace or the jacuzzi tub but I'm betting they would be an excellent romantic touch to the evening. Breakfast each day was fantastic. We had pancakes, fried eggs and the eggs florentine. The cheese sauce on the florentine was phenomenal. The muffins that are served each day are not to be missed. The strong coffee is a good jolt to get you out the door & enjoying the gorgeous city! Would highly recommend this place if you're staying in Victoria for a couple days.

That's what COVID and inflation are doing to traveling. And people not willing to work anymore. It's a shame. Home sharing may be the way for future travel.

And when I say excellent price I mean about $100 a night, so yeah pretty great for 4 people. Plus there was a complimentary breakfast and free wifi, all included! There was supposed to be a free shuttle from the port where we came in to the hotel, however when we called to confirm that they apologized saying the shuttle runs to the airport instead of the port at the time we needed it. So what did they do? They called a cab for us, and PAID OUR CAB FAIRE. Now that's service. Everyone was extremely courteous and friendly. In our room, the phone didn't work because of an old cable, and when we told the desk they switched it out for us immediately, no problem. Their continental breakfast was surprisingly varied, although don't expect a Hilton line up. It was filling and plenty tasty. The room was clean and pleasant, with a very nice TV with a huge channel selection and like I said, FREE no-strings-attached WIFI. Finally, after leaving the hotel, a concierge chased us all the way to the port attempting to return a book that he thought we had left behind. I have never received such excellent service, well anywhere really, before this. I recommend this hotel 100%, 10/10 would stay at again. The town it's in is quaint and very pretty too. The pub next door however? Definitely pass on that.

The bathrooms are small and dark. These issues are not disclosed anywhere, in fact we only found out from another guest that breakfast was not included. If we had known these things beforehand and if it was about 30% cheaper, it would have been worth it, but as is, it was overpriced. It is a gorgeous setting and very clean, but I definitely felt swindled.

The rooms were nicely decorated and clean and there was a fun living room with tons of games, movies, books and things to do inside, but the best was outside. There was a fire pit just steps from the ocean as well as a hot tub with an ocean view. The kitchen was fully stocked even with a spice rack so we could cook things while we were there. We had a very affordable small-ish room with an ocean view and it was so perfect waking up listening to the sounds of the ocean. The town itself is small and rural, mostly a farm town, but the people are all very friendly and there is a great pizza place and restaurant down the street. Metchosin is about 35-40 minutes from downtown Victoria so having a car (rental or bring your own on the Ferry) is probably a good idea. The owner of the lodge is a wonderful lady named Marg who is friendly, funny, helpful and full of interesting stories. She also teaches yoga and does massage there upon request. It would be a great place to go for a retreat too for a group of people. The two of us actually had the place pretty much to ourselves because the other people who were supposed to come missed their ferry over so it was certainly an added bonus to have that much space and privacy. There is free WiFi and a phone you can use too, which comes in handy when you are coming from another country like we were and had no use of our cell phones there. We would definitely go back and we plan on it!

I loved the tall ceiling, it feels almost like a house. There is ample parking. It's really nice as there's a lot of parking spots in the outdoor lot so you don't need to check in to the hotel first before being able to access the parking lot like quite a few neighboring hotels. There is also an underground parking lot if a more secure spot is desired. The room itself was nice. The carpetting made it feel older than other modern hotels but it was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great as well. Shampoo/conditioner all-in-one was available but not body wash. Small bar soaps are also available. Despite feeling a bit old, the room was comfortable. Sound proofing is mediocre, other guests and birds outside can be heard quite easily. Bring ear plugs to sleep well. The hotel has complimentary breakfast served at 7am. I had to leave as it was opening but there seemed to be quite a selection of items at a quick glance.

For my trip to Victoria BC, my family of four booked a room here with two double beds. The booking comes with free breakfast and $10 daily parking to use for their parking lot and garage. Both check-in and check-out was fast and prompt, and the hotel itself is a drivable and even walkable distance to many notable places like Fisherman's Wharf, Pendray Tea House, the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, and downtown Victoria itself. As an added bonus, the Tour de Victoria also takes place near the streets leading to this hotel if you catch it at the right time. Parking is limited even at the hotel since spaces are pretty tight especially down in the garage area where some spaces are dangerously close to poles. This area ended up being the most convenient for us to use given how rainy one of the days was. When there's food, I also gotta review it though it isn't as big of a factor here compared to everything else. Breakfast here is buffet style, where you can grab anything from eggs and bacon, cereal, pastries, self-made waffles and drinks. They served two kinds of breakfast potatoes and those ended up being my favorites because of how full you can get off of them and to pace my hunger for certain situations like late waking-up times. Their dining hall is located near the lobby, and it also houses a small recreational room with a small shelf full of board and card games, and some sofas to relax at along with guest-only restrooms to utilize. As for the hotel rooms, they're relatively spacious and clean, while the bathrooms are brightly lit but a little cramped without much sink counter space for a lot of our stuff. We asked the front desk for some extra blankets, and they came up after a little bit with them, about 15 minutes. There is an AC unit in our room, though it took a really long time - even at its coldest setting - to make our place appropriately chilly for a good night's sleep. Compared to the other hotels in the surrounding area, this doesn't stand out in any way, but the service and quality more than make up for it, and we had an easier time navigating around the city knowing we could come here afterwards and rest. I'll consider booking another room here on a return trip to Victoria BC!

The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in, and the sound machine was a 10/10. I loved it so much that I actually tried to buy the same one for my home! The location is fantastic if you plan to explore on foot, and the parking garage was convenient and easy to use for those bringing a car. The staff were also incredibly accommodating; they offer early check-in or late check-out when availability allows, and they'll happily hold your luggage for extended periods so you can keep exploring the city without carrying everything around. One fun bonus: don't forget to try the complimentary Hangry Hippo gummies! The light blue ones were my favorite. Overall, this was a comfortable, convenient, and welcoming place to stay. We'd absolutely stay here again.

The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. There was no wait at all to check-in. Check-out was also very quick, there was no line so it only took a minute. The hotel has parking but requires a room key to go down into the underground parking lot. There are lots of spots available. The hotel also allows cars to be parked after checkout until 3pm (as of writing), which is really nice of them. The room I received was spacious. Upon arrival, there were nature sounds (birds, wind, forest theme) playing and the fan was on. There is heating but no air conditioning, and so the room was pretty warm, even for early April weather. I was given a room on the 7th floor, for reference. My room had a full kitchen, including a stove, fridge, sink, and microwave. Even had a taller dining table that serves as a kitchen island. The bathroom is big and feels luxurious, with both a shower and a bathtub. There were many towels supplied, as well as body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Overall a great experience. Would definitely stay here again.

They did not have a room with a more accessible bathroom but did their best to find equipment to help and gave a shower chair for transfers. Cannot complain too much since we did not request an accessible room but this could be an issue for those who would have trouble with the abnormal toilet and shower/tub heights. Also, it did get noisy at times from the hallway/lobby noise heard in the living room where I was on the sofa bed but mom did not notice it in the bedroom. Nonetheless, I was able to sleep well.

The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to do where to eat, I did miss not having the option of a restaurant in hotel, but there were loads of options withing a block or two. For what was described as an affordable hotel, it was far better and did NOT feel like a chain cookie cutter economy hotel other than the price, I would choose to stay again! Even housekeeping, so quiet and that is rare even in higher end hotels. You hear the 12am ton2pm shuffle in hallways, not here, it was quiet cozy, friendly and again the bedding! Thank you to the staff, and who ever is behind the laundry amd selection of pillows.
