I'm so disappointed... our reservation is for a one bedroom suite. The room looks nice and clean. It has a kitchenette too and the view is nice! The reason for three stars is the ac in the living room blows cold but for some reason the room doesn't feel cold and the ac in the bedroom ... does... NOT ... work!! We called the front desk and they told us it is broken but there is a fan in the closet. Seriously, for what we paid for the room, if I kne.. I would have booked someplace else. BUT I have to say that the hotels location is conveniently located close to downtown and the waterfront. We were able to walk from the hotel to downtown with ease. Hotel staff was pleasant and helpful!

If I could give more stars, I would! I was so impressed with the value, location, service, housekeeping... this hotel is a gem! A couple of blocks from the ferry terminal and right next to Beacon Hill Park- the location was spectacular. A fabulous breakfast buffet, complete with waffles, bacon, eggs, hash browns and pastries. Chef Scott was so friendly and helpful- he really takes pride in his restaurant, and it shows! The Front Desk staff was so knowledgeable and gave us phenomenal dinner recommendations. I had to work a little while traveling, and the little desk in the room was perfect for my Zoom calls. The deep bathtub in the room was perfect for a decadent bubble bath after a long day of walking. I can't wait to come back!!

We had originally booked this hotel with the BC ferries package and because the Google reviews were so high we didn't actually realize that it's rated as a three star hotel (don't let this deter you). Overall it is a bit of an older hotel and they could maybe upgrade the softness of their bed and blankets however their shower was very good and their bathrooms were quite large. They also have free breakfast which an opinion was to our delight. They have fruit, yoghurt, variety of eggs (scrambled/boiled/scrambled with veggies or meat) and protein (ham or sausage) depending on when you come, they also have muffins, waffles, toast and cereal. They have a juice machine, coffee and tea available. The staff are nice and check in and checked out for a breeze. They have underground parking. It is right beside the parliament building which we found very handy and it was quite central. The only downfall I would say is that it is close to where the horses take their carriage route so you can hear their hooves knocking. The hotel itself may be "three stars" but it was a solid 4.4 for us.

The Embassy Inn

Of all the hotels in Victoria, this one definitely doesn't stand out, but it's the perfect example of not judging a book by its cover. The Embassy Inn has several Pros which keep me coming back every time I visit Victoria. First, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. The location is perfect, about a 5 minute walk from tue ferry terminal. The complimentary breakfast is the best of any hotel I've ever been to. There's a decent variety of foods: eggs, bacon, make your own waffles, ripe fresh fruit, pastries, breads (toast, bagels, english muffins), yogurt, and oatmeal. There's also an espresso machine that makes yummy cappuccinos, lattes, and hot chocolate. The only con of this hotel is that the rooms don't have any USB ports for charging devices, which in this day and age makes no sense to me, but just remember to bring charging cubes and you'll be fine. For an incredible value and a comfortable stay in Victoria, you won't be disappointed staying at the Embassy Inn. Highly recommend!

The location of the hotel is not very impressive, although it's located in the city center. It's within a walking distance to the assembly hall and the royal museum. The facility has two sections and one section looks very run down, which I is not being used. The hotel section has been renovated and is pretty new. The rooms are small but nice and smell good. The stay comes with free breakfast, which is pretty impressive for a continental breakfast, particularly the price that I paid for. The guest service was very good.

Very weird smell when you first enter your room. The hotel itself is in a great location but the room is awfully small. The bathroom is also pretty tight. There is a pool and sauna but no gym. The complimentary breakfast from 7am to 10:30am is decent. The price for one night wasn't cheap either.

During Christmas week it was refreshing to have such rich hot cocoa in the lobby during the afternoons. The worst thing though was a very large powerful English mastiff which came out of their room near the elevators on the second floor and began barking ferociously. Frankly, dogs shouldn't be allowed if this place is upscale. Overall, loved the Victorian spirit of this iconic hotel.

I will say however the location is excellent for walkability, exterior is gorgeous and the stunning colorful tulips in the spring are a highlight for anyone stopping by. Very slow/painful check in process, rooms were not ready over after supposed check in time, long wait times for breakfast at The Bengal etc. The ONLY silver lining in our experience was the wonderful hotel manager who saved the day and truly made sure we were well taken care of this second time around when things went wrong - if not for him, we would've written this hotel off completely. We do like the pool and hot tub, the Le Labo amenities and the Harbor View rooms are great for the view. Skip the Willow stream spa- the services were mediocre at best and the mineral pool was totally lukewarm; even the hot tub in the general pool area was better. Best part about the spa was the snack area with the yummy PB oat brownie bites and iced lavender + butterfly pea infused water! That said, it's definitely still a hotel with "old bones" despite the recent remodel and it shows when it gets very noisy with street traffic and buskers on the weekend, even at night. Sound insulation in the hallway is next to non-existent so you will inevitably hear the drunk Bachelorette party girls making their way down the corridor to their rooms late at night, and screaming kids in the daytime. Something to consider if noise is something that you care about during vacation. Other than historic charm and solid breakfasts at The Bengal, I'm not sure what else the hotel has going for it unless you spend a fortune on the Gold experience perhaps!

I wanted to gut-check our plan to take the ferry from Seattle, use Uber to get to their hotel (and could we please leave our luggage up front since we'd arrive before check in? - to which the answer was, "of course you can!"), and then use Uber all around town. The very pleasant woman I spoke with (those months before arriving) assured me that our plan should work splendidly, and they looked forward to having us. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two of the nicest front desk people, who took our luggage for storage, then found our room had indeed been cleaned as early as possible and was in fact ready for us for early check in immediately! The property itself is reminiscent of a period of taste and attention to detail that seldom exists any more. Our room was beautiful: spacious, with two separate bathroom sinks and a separate jetted tub and walk-in shower, plus a small sitting area and plenty of space! So nicely appointed with everything in its place, and everything working. The entire lobby and library/lounge area was also beautifully appointed, and so homey and inviting. And breakfast - included with the room - was elaborate and scrumptious. Each day features both sweet and savory options; for example, pancakes, or eggs and bacon. My wife and I got one of each and shared them. It was all delectable. And each day's menu, specially prepared and printed for that day, includes a weather forecast for the day - even with temperatures in both Celsius and Fahrenheit! We had such a wonderful stay that we hated to leave. We'd look forward to visiting Victoria again and would definitely choose Abigail's hotel again!!

The Library was a great quiet location, the room (Opal room) was comfortable, large, and provided greaat views out the many windows of the trees around the building. We particuly enjoyed breakfasts offered. Different each day, the quality was excellent as was fresh brewed coffee. Given the number of guests and limited dining room space for tables, the hotel requested us to pick a timeframe to dine so that the pace for table availabilty and meals were manageable. We chose 8:30A and we arrived each day with 10 minutes of that time. Worked great to get a table without feeling rushed or the food delayed in arriving! And each afternoon the chef put out a nice spread of meats/cheeses sometime, and homemade soup other times. All in all a great experience!

This was why we decided to return there again for the long weekend of 2024, on the 4th of July. Unfortunatly, this time was different. For a three-night stay, we invested nearly $1,400 for the room alone, without breakfast, parking, or any other expenses. We were expecting a 350-square-foot room with a water view, large windows, and a separate bedroom and sitting area. After we checked in, we found out that the room they had allocated to us, room 826 on the 8th floor, was not the room we had paid for. It was less than 150 sq ft, with tiny windows, no separate bedroom, and no separate sitting area. Naturally, I returned to the reception desk and demanded a better room. They responded that you had booked a room from Expedia, and we did not get what we were entitled to for the rental. Moreover, because you arrived after 7 p.m., we gave the room to another party. I explained the meaning and purpose of the reservation and showed them a printout from our booking with the room description. After over half an hour of struggle, they decided to honor what I had promised. However, they did not change our room until the next day. Overall, our stay at the Delta Hotel this time was not as pleasant as we hoped. I doubt we will be going back there again.

Despite having a Do Not Disturb sign clearly displayed, hotel staff entered my room without my consent, later explaining that it was a "wellness check" required when a room has not received housekeeping service for three consecutive days. However, no attempt was made to call my phone, leave a voicemail, or contact me in any way before entering. In an era where every guest provides a phone number at check-in, this should have been the first and most basic step. Entering a guest's room while Do Not Disturb is displayed is a serious violation of privacy. Additionally, I had requested and received towels directly the day before, and I had declined housekeeping at check-in, which contradicts the claim that my room had not been serviced for three days. To make matters more confusing, management later focused their response on the presence of my service dog, asking me to confirm if I was traveling with a dog. However, my dog was present with me at check-in, so it is unclear why this suddenly became a concern or why it was brought up after the unauthorized entry. What was most disappointing was the response from Danielle Powell, Director of Operations, who repeatedly justified the situation rather than offering a sincere apology for the intrusion. The tone of the communication felt confrontational rather than customer-focused. Overall, this hotel is a very poor representation of the Marriott brand.
