I decide to look around and see what they have. Right away I found oatmeal raisin cookies and saw a few other things. Upon checking out, a lady in a short ponytail and grey hair seemed very unhappy and unfriendly. The vibe she was putting out said "fuck off." The hotdogs that they sell weren't sold at 11am. The older of the two ladies told me "we don't sell them until noon. Go buy them on the boat." Its the tone she said this in that leads me to believe they are sharing the same bug up their asses. I kept these thoughts to myself, but my wife also experienced this same hospitality. I heard the same older lady tell another couple your're still in Canada. Once again it was the tone she gave off, but she was a little more friendlier that her friend, coworker or daughter. Whatever the case is, these two need an attitude adjustment.

Our waitress came to the table, we told her we only had about 1/2 hour to eat, and we ordered a beer (bottled, they were our of draft beers) and one bowl of chowder. We waited. And waited . The beer arrived (very nice Kokanee lager). We drank the beer, and waited. We finally had to leave without the chowder. I don't know if it was tasty. Seriously: how long does it take to get a ladle, and pour the chowder into a bowl?

Terra Tovela Catering was absolutely phenomenal. They catered my Winter Solstice birthday dinner,…read moreand we chose a buffet-style setup -- and it exceeded every expectation. The buffet was beautifully arranged, abundant, and incredibly thoughtful. Every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care and intention. Guests went back for seconds (and thirds), and people were talking about the food long after the night ended. What really stood out was how elevated and seamless the experience felt, even with a buffet. Nothing felt rushed or chaotic -- everything flowed effortlessly, and the presentation was just as stunning as a plated dinner would have been. The Terra Tovela team was professional, warm, and attentive, allowing me to fully relax and enjoy my birthday celebration. They truly understood the vibe of a Winter Solstice gathering and brought it to life through food and service. If you're considering buffet or plated catering and want something that feels intentional, soulful, and unforgettable, Terra Tovela is it. I would book them again in a heartbeat.
