David (who has checked us in each time) is the best! Their motel rooms are quite comfortable, rustically stylish, and come with a Nespresso coffee maker (and plenty of pods), mini-fridge, a smart TV, and triple-sheeted duvets. The breakfast pastries and dinner offerings at the on-site restaurant are delightful too. I recommend making resos far in advance since they book up quickly for summer weekends. Leave the rat race behind for a weekend or a week--or more--and settle in for a relaxing stay.

The airstream was very comfortable. Nice queen bed. Own shower and bathroom. Hot water. Wifi. Cable. Amazon firebox. Kitchen with microwave and gas stove. Cutlery, pots and pans. Outside you have your own fire pit, 2 person hot tub whirling away and just waiting for you. A bbq set and lawn chairs and a huge umbrella to shade you. A huge hammock for those afternoon book readings. i mean, What more can you ask for? Air-streaming doesn't get any better than this! And the best part...the staff are so nice and accommodating. They'll give a quick orientation on what to do etc and if you need anything, they are a txt msg away. Yet, you are surrounded by nature and a lush flora. Around the property there are countless trails and everything is within a 5-10-15 min drive. There are cafes close by, farms, a bc liquor store, bookstore, restaurants, etc. everything is opening up now. Please go and support local and your backyard. Super easy to book and confirm. We loved Beach Haven…read more Recently we spent 4 days at Beach Haven and all i can say is I wished it were more. These cabins and resort are perfect for quiet getaway from the cities hustle and bustle. Pure Heaven. Loved the people, the ease to walk out of cabin straight to beach, starry nights and the smell of the huge cedars. The sunsets are amazing, the birds are beauty singing every morning. I will be back every year. In fact sooner than a year if I can find vacancy. The staff was wonderful. We accidently left somethings and were contacted immediately to pick them up. Thank goodness we were still on the island. Thanks Beach Haven for the rest.

Poet's Cove is in a beautiful location with views to die for but they're resting on their laurels…read more Our room had several large stains in the carpet, a chair cushion that was so badly worn that a cover was put over it...but the cover was stained and didn't come close to matching. The other chair cushion was equally worn but no cover. The desk chair looked like something you'd donate to a charity. The desk had watermarks on it that are easily removed with an iron and towel. We brought the desk clerk into the room to show him these things. To his credit, he took his shoes off in the hall before coming in. He fully understood our frustrations and said the staff has complained multiple times to management about complaints like ours, especially the furniture, and they have gone unheard. I felt sorry for him because we weren't the first guests to complain. We were there on a Saturday night for a post-wedding reception and the music blasted until 10:30, way too late and way too loud for what we paid for our room. The wait staff at the Aurora café for breakfast was in on-the-job training and we heard every word of it as the kitchen is right there. The cook had to tell him to ask, as the first thing once everyone is seated, if anyone wanted something to drink. Our waiter was wearing a pair of sweat pants with a hole in the knee, not something you'd expect at a place as expensive as Poet's Cove is. All told, its reputation and the price didn't meet our expectations, even after our discount for complaining.

We came here for a romantic getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had booked a pet…read morefriendly cottage and when we checked in we had our dog with us. When we got to our cottage there was a "no pets" sign on the door. We called to clarify and was told that we now had a situation. The compromise was that we were told to put our dog in a kennel when we were in the cottage. Major disappointment. This place is a timeshare and we found many of the owners are nosey--people looked in our cottage as they walked by. It was uncomfortable. We couldn't get hot water from the shower. The handheld sprayer in the tub was broken. Someone came to look at it and told us it was a European fixture and then we realized it was installed upside down. It was over $400/night and there was the expectation that we strip the beds and take our garbage home. Definitely not the luxury experience we were hoping for.

We have been here before (for the spa - restaurant was closed during COVID, when we were last there), and were thus return customers for the spa, and first-timers for the restaurant. The meal was really good; definitely good value for money (though it wasn't cheap). If you have vegetarians (like my spouse) in the crowd, the "hippie/draft dodging" history of Galiano Island means you have some pretty great options. LOVED the soup! Everyone left full, and happy. As for the massages, we all agreed they were simply TERRIFIC! Notably, Linda (who was my masseuse) gave me the best massage I have received. (I am sufficiently spoiled to have had a few...) Seriously, will plan my next trip around Linda's availability.

The resort has been steadily going down hill for years now. The road on the beach has eroded so badly that it seems it will just slip into the sea. Maintenance is just not happening and complaints are blatantly ignored. This once was a wonderful place to stay but sadly it is absolutely not worth the money anymore.
