There is street parking only. This is a small location with some seating in the back. Most people walk in and order and leave. Sidewinder is my favorite coffee places in Cincinnati. I have been here several times over the years and the drinks are consistently good and I make sure to stop in once or twice per visit. I have bought bags of beans to take home as well. One of my favorites is the White Rabbit with almond milk. I love this blend of flavors. The service is always friendly. This place can get busy so have patience while you wait for your drink. They almost always have gluten and dairy free snack options which is a great source of delight for me. Recently I had a piece of gluten and dairy free cheese cake that was basically heaven. And the folks who work there are always really personable. I love the rotating art, the people who go there are interesting and the location is really convenient. Parking is easy. I've been going to this coffee shop regularly for almost 5 years now and loved and appreciated its convenience and proximity to my home. Sometimes have gone twice a day. Take all out of towners and friends here when we are in the neighborhood. I am so Sad to say that in the last year (maybe a little less) I have experienced the grumpiest barista in America. Every time I frequent and this barista is working we are met with a flat "what do you want" and a glance at the area where we are meant to pay. I don't know this person so it can't possibly be personal. It always seems like I killed their dog or said something to offend them. Unfortunately I don't like to start my day (or anytime of the day) with negativity like this. Will be taking my business to friendlier neighborhood coffee shops where I'm met with at least a minuscule of kindness. I've never left a bad review and especially hate to do it to a small business...but this has been happening too often. Coffee is great at this spot, other baristas are top notch and maybe the best in the city. Unfortunately I can no longer go here. When I traveled to Cincinnati I had to stop by this coffee shop and wow! They are amazing! The service is very friendly. The coffee shop decor is beautiful and I love that they have a backyard. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. We were greeted both upon entry, and again when we left. We ventured in to Sidewinder because our next engagement was not open yet, and one of my children needed to use the restroom. Not wanting to use their facilities without making a purchase, I ordered their famous Mexican latte. It was everything everyone says it is. The same spices that go into the latte, as well as cream/milks, and various sweeteners are available near the door. Sweetener include syrups. Sidewinder is more than a coffee shop. Both vegan and non-vegan baked goods are stocked in both savory and sweet. Soups and sandwiches are also available. Their selection is perfect for a quick breakfast or lunch. The atmosphere is also comfortable enough to stay for a bit. Exposed brick gives this coffee shop so much character. It also serves as a great backdrop for all the art. The art is in fact for sale. Sidewinder allows you to drink locally roasted coffee while enjoying local art. Coloring books and games are available for use in the back room. read more

One of the best white mochas I've had in a while and i make it a mission to try new places on the regular. Super cute place, lots of seating in the back area, as well as a courtyard area with outdoor seating for warm weather! They have free wifi and a nice variety of board games to occupy your time! Prices are very decent and the food servings are surprisingly large for the price! Sidewinder Coffee is a great independent coffee shop in the Northside area. It has little seating inside so you probably will be taking it to go. There's a big coffee menu. It's hard to make a choice. They also have a food menu. I had a regular coffee and a vegan Bahama bar. It's about $3 for a regular size coffee. The coffee tastes so fresh without the burnt flavor like that chain that's everywhere. It also has some alcohol. That's something you don't see often. I liked the the vegan Bahama bar. This had chocolate chips and coconuts, but it still wasn't overly sweet. It also has other heavier food items. There's a black bean burger for those willing to wait. If they had more seating room this would be even better. It's just a small coffee shop that serves mostly coffee. They do have food but it's rare to see anyone order. read more

I met up with a coworker at Sidewinder around 9am this week. I've been to the Northside joint to pick up a quick coffee before but had never had anything to eat or ventured into their back room or patio. I got a table near an outlet. There were plenty of tables at this time but by noon came around, almost every seat was taken. I ordered a large latte and chocolate chip scone. The scones were wrapped in plastic at the front of the counter and the barista offered to heat it up for me! It was a decent size and actually pretty filling. My latte was topped with foam art and was delicious. The large was pretty big and I wasn't even able to finish it all. Sidewinder definitely has a cool Northside vibe and I enjoyed staying and working there for about 3-4 hours. I'm looking forward to nicer weather to sit out on the back patio some time. read more

Every neighborhood deserves a quality coffeehouse and I think Sidewinder is that for Northside. Now, this is not my hood. But, if it were, I would live here. It is so homey and welcoming with an array of drinks and snacks. The baristas are helpful and the space is both light and cozy. On a sunny, but frigid, afternoon of shopping in Northside, we wandered into Sidewinder for a hot drink before dinner. They have a happy hour wit hot, boozy drinks, so I had to try one! After talking with the barista about the options, I went with Hazel's Nuts. It's a chai latte with Frangelico liqueur. For just a little more than a regular, chai latte, I had a happy hour treat bursting with spice infused - hazelnut flavor. The chai latte, which was excellent, was elevated by the liqueur. The warmth of the drink, both temperature and spice, enveloped me. I was in a cloud of clove, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, and hazelnuts. The liqueur gave it a little kick and got me back on track for my Saturday night. I visit Northside every time I go to Cincinnati and I will definitely come back here. Next time, I'm getting a snack to go with my drink. The sweets and savories on the menu looked delicious and the prices were less than what you'd find at a chain. read more

Up until 6 months ago, this was by far one of my favorite local coffee shops. Not quite sure what happened, but nine times out of ten anymore I'm sorely disappointed with my drink. I've tried different beverages, thinking maybe it's just one or two that the baristas suck at making. Alas, it doesn't seem there's any drink that the current baristas can make consistently good. The espresso either tastes burnt or... nonexistent. Not to mention the somber employees that can't even muster a smile or ounce of kindness to the customers. There are several really good coffee shops in Cincinnati (Muse, BLOC, Coffee Emporium, Rohs, Urbana, 1215, Iris to name a few) I think the place at which I am the most comfortable is Sidewinder. The parking is easy and free (meters in front on Hamilton but no meters/ free on Chase) which matters for a long work session. The feel is definitely on the edgy/ hipster end of the spectrum, but to me it satisfies the need to go somewhere unpretentious. I almost never see students coming here to study (it's right by Cincinnati State and UC, where are you guys?); it's a great place to plop down and read. read more

Ok Sidewinder, I see you. I used to dislike the coffee here and haven't come back in years. Randomly I stopped by to give it another chance, and it was SO GOOD! I was shocked. I don't know if y'all got new coffee beans or what, but it's delicious. The espresso and drip coffee were both rich, not burned, affordable, and overall a great experience. The baked goods (croissants and bagels) are still nothing special, but the cookies (peanut butter was my favorite) were really nice. The closest parking is on the street but there is a nearby pay to park lot. Approach huge steps to enter from the street. Then depending on the hour of the morning you may have a small crowd but don't worry, this moves fast. While waiting you can check out the menu board with usual hot coffee, espresso and cold brew. They also have some creatively named speciality drinks such as Honey Bee Latte and the French Kiss (Coco & Lavender), I recommend both. There is seating in the front and rear of the ordering counter. Pastries and prepared sandwiches/burritos available to be warmed after ordering. This place has bunnies! Any place with bunnies gets a bonus star. ;) My husband and I stopped in for a late breakfast. I was going to go with a Caramelatte, but then I saw that their specials were posted at the counter. Yay for Pumpkin Lattes! Not the best I've had but still good. We ordered at the counter and then I headed to the back to find a seat while my husband waited for the food. There were a few tables up front but much more seating in the back. I grabbed a magazine off the rack and then noticed the door leading to the outside area...with a notice on it...that there were bunnies on the other side. I could barely contain my excitement as I walked outside and watched the bunnies eating and hopping around. There are a few tables outside - maybe a half-dozen. My husband brought his giant cinnamon roll and my big ol' plate of macaroni and cheese. (What better meal to start your day with, eh?) Both had been reheated in the kitchen, but the flavor and quality was still well-preserved. The cinnamon roll was on the too sweet side for me, but my husband enjoyed. This place is lovely and small. The women in the front are very sweet and the coffee and snacks they make are even better. I had the turtle mocha just to try something new and LOVED it. It's quite possible that Sidewinder Coffee is the most relaxed coffee shop with the most reasonable prices. I live fairly close to SC and love that they have water out for my pup and that I can bring her in for to go orders. A coffee is under $2 and my mocha with an extra shot of espresso runs me $5.10 which is very reasonable given the top notch ingredients they use. As with other Northside business they draw a diverse crowd for to go items and also come in and stay. Bunnies are out back but since I have my pup with me I have not seen them. The drinks I have picked up here have been perfect and the service is tops- definitely worth a stop read more

Let's start by saying that the owner of this coffee shop is notorious for firing people over a bad review. Maybe the owner can be fired this time? Sidewinder's quality and service has decreased tremendously over the past 2 years. The baristas are always too busy or too interested in their own conversations to pay you any attention. No sense of urgency to make a drink. I've been coming here for 3 years and last week I waited 14 MINUTES for a drink, watching the baristas chat it up, roll their eyes, and mosey around. That's never happened even during the height of the early morning rush, but now it's standard. Loud, terrible music is being played that you can barely talk to the barista. Doesn't matter though because they act like you're an annoyance for being there - no kind greeting like you used to get. The owner of Sidewinder can't be bothered by the personal lives of her baristas. Merciless and cold, she fired all the great baristas in a fit of power and look where it's gotten her. read more

I have come here twice at this point and I'm just not impressed with the coffee. I love the atmosphere of the North Side and I love the aesthetic of the coffee shop - it is a great place to do work or catch up on some reading. However, I am not a fan of their coffee and this is one of the first places that I have tried that I genuinely do not like the coffee. The first time I came in, I got the Fresh Kiss which is a lavender mocha and I felt that the flavors were quite a bit overwhelming. I ruled this to just bad ordering on my end. The second time I get my usual - an iced oat milk latte - and it just tasted off. I get iced oat milk lattes nearly everywhere I go, including many of the coffee shops throughout Cincinnati. It tasted like the beans were actually burnt and I don't know if that was the problem or if their oat milk was off. It tasted a bit watery as well and I'm not sure why. I kept going back to drink more of it just to figure out what the problem with the drink was. It is clearly a fairly popular place, but I think two times is enough for me. I'll stick to some of the other coffee shops in the area. read more

Located in a cool and fun little district called Northside, a street filled with many little bars, restaurants, and tattoo shops, Sidewinder coffee and tea really stands out. They have a wide variety of beverages to choose from (tea, coffee and other drinks) and a nice food menu (vegetarian options too!). It is very spacious with seating in the front, back and even a patio in the rear with bunnies! It is a great place to study and enjoy the afternoon. The staff is extremely friendly. They also sell other random items like paintings or unique designs (you will understand when you come in) and advertisement to different music shows and what not. We stopped here Saturday night and I liked the place a lot, the ambiance is cozy, vintage, and welcoming. I also really like the service, the staff was very nice and attentive, she gave us sometime to order so it didn't feel rushed or anything like some other places. I had the Kentucky coffee, and it was alright a bit too strong for my taste. I felt like there was no coffee in it so it was hard to enjoy. On the other hand my mum had the Cafe amaretto and that once was awesome she really enjoyed it, you could taste the coffee and the amaretto. We also ordered a plain croissant and it was awesome! They served it warmed so it was delicious. I would recommend this place, but I wouldn't really recommend he Kentucky coffee, I will definitely go back to prefer something different. read more
