When we arrived we met Mary who is the third generation to run the family farm. She gave us some history of the farm, some free samples and some good conversation about growing persimmons. We got here just in time as it's the end of the season and the boxes you see in the pictures were all that were left. Here for only $38 you can buy a whole box of Fuyu persimmons. They have other varieties too, and we recommend the Fuyu because it is non-astringent. And, if they have them, pick-up a bag of their fresh pecans for $10 a bag. They were very flavorful, with hints of maple syrup. We had to force ourselves to stop eating them or we would have been without a pecan pie this Thanksgiving. If you're in the area make the stop for some fresh off the farm fruits and vegetables.

I discovered Terrell's Farmers Market on Facebook a few months ago. I wanted to purchase fresh…read morepeas and veggies for the winter. They didn't have any in stock so I called about a month later and they had fresh peas in stock. I didn't know how many bags to get so I think I went a bit overboard. I purchased black eyed peas, purple hull peas, cream peas, pinto beans, okra, corn, pecans, peanuts, fig preserves, watermelon, sweet potatoes and honey. They have more veggies and fruit to choose from including other preserves. The prices are a little higher than I expected to pay but I still made the purchase. I paid with my debit card but was told they prefer cash. :) My husband tried the watermelon and he said it was ok. I made a homemade sweet potato pie and the sweet potatoes were ok. The purple hull peas were just ok. I'm not sure if they were picked too soon but they didn't meet my expectations. If I decide to come back, it will be for the fig preserves and honey. The staff is friend and are very helpful. I think the produce came from East Texas. Call ahead to make sure they have the produce in stock.

They have herbs, vegetables, and flowers growing all throughout and you can have them cut or repot anything you like. They also have vegetables they have already gathered for sale. And AMAZING compost!! Lots of pre potted plants for sale also. I am hoping to visit once a week to get veggies while i wait for my garden to grow. Visit for a whole new view of a "farmer's market".
