    Seasonal Blueberry Cheesecake
    Elisa C.

The Culver City Sidecar Donuts location is the most convenient for me location wise and it's small and cozy. The staff is friendly and was super helpful as I couldn't make my mind up and had been eyeballing the seasonal offerings. I went with the blueberry cheesecake and it didn't disappoint. The yeast donut was nice and airy and the toppings were well balanced. I do recommend eating this the same day it's purchased.

Words like exquisite come to mind. Sidecar's offerings are the Rolls Royce of donuts. They look amazing and taste amazing, too. I had the strawberry buttermilk there and took a French toast to go. The glaze on the strawberry buttermilk and the fry on the donut gave each bite a crisp edge that was really appealing, especially in contrast with the fluffy inside. These are not heavy doughnuts. Yum! The young lady who waited on us was terrific. She boxed my to go donut so it wouldn't get smushed and was really patient while my friend and I figured out what we wanted. They also serve coffee and have outdoor seating. There is also a free parking lot. The only downside to my visit is they were out of the Dubai chocolate option. I really wanted to try that one. Definitely recommended.

Sidecar is a small chain. The one we went to is in Culver City. It is never busy it seems and now I know why. The donuts are way overpriced and not very good. We ordered several, I am so glad we did not get a dozen. They just are not every good at all. They have flavors you may not find elsewhere, but that does make me them good. They are not. They are hard and the topping is bland. Parking is free in the mall lot where this place sits at the corner. This location is very clean and it is nice and comfortable. But that does not save their less than good donuts. They really need to start over with new recipes or hire a donut chef. I don't see this place lasting. It could be so good, but it is not and that is sad. The service is very nice and we appreciate that, but we won't be back.

Sidecar is a bit on the pricier side ($5-$8) but have fresh cake-like dough do-nuts! I do love their variety and seasonal options though and they always look so pretty! Service is always excellent and friendly and they are pretty quick to pack your order. The inside is usually super clean as well. I tried their millionaires shortbread chocolate donut during national donut day for $7-$8 and didn't really feel it was worth the price. The donut was fresh and had loads of chocolate pieces on top and a good amount of caramel dulce de leche inside, but nothing really stood out that would make me order it again. Although it does make for a pretty gift with the gold sprinklings! Their Vietnamese coffee didn't really give me the condensed milk punch that Lees coffee gives you, IYKYK, but it was decent! The cookies and cream donut was also around $8 and had a cream cheese taste inside, but again not really worth it. I think their classics around $4.75-$5.75 would be a much better choice and they have a great fresh selection! Also, definitely get their app for a free coffee and donut on your first visit and to collect points. Their choc-a-lot is pretty good along with their butter and salt, but again this isn't a Krispy Kreme donut, more of a cakey dough! I came in on Saturday morning to try their Benedict donut which is available daily until 11 am and it was pretty fresh! It had a nice runny egg, pesto seasoning, and prosciutto. The donut was warm, soft baked, wasn't overly sweet, a tad salty, but yummy! It cost $8 so it was pretty pricey but eggs these days are expensive soo I might come back to get this one again :)

Stopped here on a weekday afternoon to pick up a sweet treat and I was pleasantly surprised that the donuts that I picked up were still fresh and also service was really fast and friendly. This particular location also has its own parking lot so it's relatively easy to park in front but also a little bit more complicated if you're trying to get back onto Overland Avenue from the store. There are a few places inside to eat your donuts with a standing counter, as well as a few patio tables if you decide to eat in. Typically, it's best to eat a sidecar doughnut same day. They tend to not be as good or as fresh the next day on this particular occasion, I picked up a butter and salt, which is a classic flavor, great texture and moisture in the doughnuts and a really nice balance of sweet and saltiness coming from the donut itself.

    Carry out!

No complaints here! We must've come on a good day cause the donuts were fresh and my matcha was delicious! Sure the donuts are a bit pricy but it's an experience and I like their menu. My favorite was the Huckleberry and they had really good seasonal options too. We were in and out pretty quickly and the line was already starting to form. Great service! I would return to this super convenient location!

While I was in Culver City, I saw Sidecar Doughnuts and Coffee and decided I needed to have some doughnuts there. Sidecar Doughnuts and Coffee is my first visit, and it appears like there are only a few doughnuts on display, with limited options. Wow! When the employee handed us some samples to try, Doughnuts are really soft, and the flavors fill your mouth immediately. Because I bought four Nothing Bundt Cakes, I only got two kinds of doughnuts here. Good doughnuts, and I will surely try different donuts next time I am in the area.

Absolutely worth the price for these artisan donuts! I love when there's a cool collab or a protein donut on the menu, it never disappoints. I ordered my usual today; a butter and salt and a strawberry buttermilk. Because it's the nearing the end of the season for summer, we also ordered the peach filled donut, which was so delicious. It was the perfect amount of brown sugar topping without overdoing it. Both the butter and salt and strawberry buttermilk aren't too sweet and have a dense but buttery cake dough that melts in your mouth. The staff are always so kind and helpful, because there's so many options, and there's always free samples to taste before you make your selection!

Seasonal Truvani chocolate peanut butter donut. While it doesn't really taste like peanut butter, it's still tasty.

Sidecar is always a treat when I'm on this side of town. I'm a sucker for seasonal flavors. I recommend trying out their new seasonal flavors when they debut them. They had an apple cranberry sufiganyot this past Hanukkah that was delicious. One area this place shines in is that they offer both gluten free and vegan options, which your typical donut spot usually doesn't. I know these donuts are more expensive than the average spot so lemme share with you some ways to save money and still get your Sidecar fix: -Download the app. Seriously. When you first sign up you get a free drink and donut. Then you keep earning points to get free donuts. As you make purchases they'll load buy one get one free and 2x point offers into you account. -Download the Too Good To Go app. Many Sidecars are on here (including this location) and you can usually get 5-6 donuts for $7, when donuts are typically $5.75 each. Note that with TGTG you won't know what flavors you're getting so this is an option for someone who is open to being surprised. -Take the survey. Near the register there's usually a QR code to take a survey to win a box of 6 donuts for free. Last year, it used to be a free donut upon completing the survey but I'm not in a position to be picky. I haven't won a free box yet but it's worth a try. I just hope someday they open a Sidecar in the Valley because I don't only get my cravings when I'm in Culver City :(

    Vegan Affogato
    Andy N.

Even though it's located at a busy crossing, I knew I had to try their vegan donut once my friend shared they'd have a rotating seasonal option. They only offer one vegan option at a time and this most recent visit was their Vegan Affogato with a light vanilla whip. I got to try a sample before ordering and am so glad I did. I went with this as my donut of choice ($6.50) and even though it's a bit pricey, I really enjoyed this delectable morning treat. The staff here were very friendly and overall was an awesome grab and go spot.

early morning treats! delicious donuts. got huckleberry, maple bacon, butter and salt and 2 hot oat lattes. Ashley helped me today and she's so warm and friendly and helpful and seems like she knows everything in store. She's the best!

    Angela Z.

I love Sidecar donuts but this location was by far the best! They had seating outside and the service was wonderful! I got the basil eggs Benedict donut and wow was that a culinary experience, it's pricey but worth it! I also got the banana nut latte with oat milk, it was yummy, I would just opt out of the walnut topping next time!

We were so looking forward to trying this place. We are donut nuts and we look for new places. Sadly this place is an epic failure. And that is sad. They just don't know how to make donuts. The place is super cute, was empty, it was also very clean. The service was very nice and we love that. They also have coffee. We did not have any so I have no opinion of that, it is just the ever so sad donuts. We bought several and they are way over priced. But they are pretty. We got them home and all went in the trash. They are not at all fluffy or tasty. They tasted stale and like old cake. The icing was lacking, so the donut had little flavor. Nothing could have saved them. There is no way that every donut we tried just happened to be stale, they were just not good. They are close to tough and just so boring. I really wanted to give them a good review. The 3 stars is a gift. We will never be back and again, that is sad.

Ask the Community - Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee

Does the inside have air purifier(s) and/or central air conditioning (HVAC) running throughout the day to filter indoor air?

When I was in there it was hot, but it was chilly out. I know they have AC. I know they don't use it all the time. I do not know whether they have air purfiers I doubt it.

Where's the best place to park?

The parking lot next to the shop.

    Is there Outside seating?

There's a small patio that backs up to the parking lot. They kept the layout from the former Coffee Bean that was there, so it's still small but it's existent.
