If you're reading this review, then you're trying to determine if my low rating of Air Conditioning…read moreand Heating Consultants Inc. (ACHC) was warranted. I will convince you that it was. My experience with Air Conditioning and Heating Consultants Inc. was frustrating and unfair. Why I Feel Ripped Off 1. I paid for 2 furnaces to be cleaned, but they only cleaned 1. 2. The carbon monoxide scare tactic they used was inappropriate and should be a red flag for any consumer to be weary of. This is a tried and true method to drum up business for many questionable companies. 3. A repair was made without my consent. They didn't have a problem calling me soon after the repair to sell me furnaces; they could have called during the repair to get permission to make the repair. 4. Joe was unwilling to work with me to settle this issue. Don't expect any form of customer service once they have your money. The Job I hired them to clean and check two furnaces at a rental property. The tenant was scheduled to supervise; I do not live at the same location. The First Call Soon after the appointment, I answered a call from ACHC that started off with Joe telling me that 1 furnace was so bad that it needed to be replaced and that the other one should also be replaced because it wouldn't last much longer. He mentioned that the one furnace was repaired; I didn't authorize the repair. Within the first 2 minutes of our conversation, he mentioned 2 times that he had the tenants sign a waiver that ACHC was not responsible if they die; "Continued operation can cause serious physical and property damage including death." as quoted from the copy that I later received. Joe proceeded to differentiate between a standard set of furnaces and a set of high efficiency furnaces, encouraging me to go with the high efficacy furnaces. He then asked, and I must paraphrase, "Which will it be?" He didn't even tell me the prices before he asked. I told him that I'd have to think about it. He offered to help me out by referring me to a credit card through the local bank to pay for it. Second Opinion I started searching for other places to provide additional quotes for furnace replacement. ALWAYS get a second opinion. In the meantime, the invoice arrived. It included a work description that detailed that BOTH furnaces were cleaned and checked and listed the unauthorized repair, for additional money, of course. The Follow-up I was able to get another company to come by for an estimate. When the technician checked the furnace, he said that it was very dirty. I didn't understand, because I just paid ACHC to clean the furnace. I paid this new company to clean the furnace and it passed the carbon monoxide check. But how could this be? If you do a quick Google search, you will find that a dirty furnace can prevent carbon monoxide from properly venting. I called Nancy and Joe at ACHC to discuss this revelation and Joe said that once the furnace does not pass the carbon monoxide check, they don't bother cleaning it; that was their standard practice. I told him that the invoice listed that it was cleaned; they were paid to clean both. It seems suspect to me to have a company policy that encourages employees to get a positive with their equipment that will result in a higher sale. In this case, if an employee detects a "high level" of carbon monoxide on the initial reading, why would they bother cleaning it when they can charge for the visit without the effort and get a possible furnace sale as well? Don't waste your time; there are better companies to hire.

He even brought my mom an electric heater to use until he got the part he needed to fix it. Now Ryan takes care of us. They are very fair in pricing. They do excellent work and I recommend them to my family and friends. I consider them family!
