HORRIBLE. Dropped off my laptop to get a battery replaced and any back end maintenance done. 1. Gave my password 2x to the store manager. 2. An email ticket item was created and a text notification saying I would be emailed or texted when my computer was ready. 3. Was called 3 days later asking for my password again. 4. Was left a voicemail and not notified via email or text that it was ready for pick up (I did not check the voicemail for 2-3 days thinking it was spam). Had been waiting for the email or text to confirm it was ready like they said, it never happened. 5. Picked it up (they had a hard time finding my charging cable. glad I labeled it with permanent marker) and I noticed the computer would not turn on. Red flags went off and I asked, "Are you sure you fixed it?" Reply by manager, "Yes, it's just been sitting for awhile and needs to charge." 6. Got home, let it charge for 1-2 hours, it failed the exact same as to why I had it looked at. 7. Went back to the store, they gave me my original faulty battery back and said they would order another battery. 8. 8 days passed, did not hear a word. Called them, they won't even refund the diagnostic test that had my computer running the exact same. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

These guys are the BEST! I've had them work on my mac, my mom's iPad and now my niece's iPhone. My mac was on the verge of crashing, running super slow. Came to LaDarien (aka Blue) for help. Don't know how good he is because I decided to pull my computer before he worked on it. Difficult to contact this person since the number I was given was the cell phone and when he didn't answer and it went to voice mail his mail box was full. He operates in the back of Genius repair which fixes phones only. He has only a banner hanging on the front of the Genius store . Since Blue was not there, the phone repair guy took my computer and told be I would be contacted later that day by Blue and that I would get an email confirmation. Neither happened by 3:00 PM and when I called Shurphire (and got the Genius repair) and asked for confirmation, I was given Blues cell phone which he did not answer and I couldn't leave a message. I decided to get my computer and try another repair shop. Blue did call later that afternoon and seemed irate that I pulled my computer. He said 48-72 hours was a reasonable time for him to contact me and when I said I thought that was unprofessional he said he didn't want to argue about it, I said neither did I and ended the call. I immediately took it to another shop in the area where the owner was there and was able to tell me what was involved and also gave me a work order then and there with an estimate of one day turn around if the virus was not too extensive. He said I would be contacted when he had a good idea of the problem and when it could be returned (as I write this he has just called and told me the extent of the virus and that I can pick it up later this afternoon). Much more professional than Shurphire in my opinion and he's been in business for 34 years, not six months. This is not a criticism on Blues technical skills since I did not have him do work, however I will not recommend him to my friends because of what I think is his unprofessional way of conducting his business. Amazing service! My old Macbook's battery was dead :( My computer only worked if it was plugged in. The Mac store wanted to charge me a ton to have it replaced (might as well have just bought a new computer for the price they wanted to charge). Shurphire Tech, came to the rescue. Had a horrible experience here, it was basically a scam. I paid the initial diagnostic fee and they didn't do a single thing to my computer or even take a look at it, just kept it a week and then told me it wasn't worth their time to work on. On top of that, they tried to sell me a new one after lying to my face and telling me the machine was beyond hope. After a fairly superficial spill on my laptop, I brought it in to have the keyboard replaced. They were very professional and helpful when I dropped it off and told me they'd get back to me within about 24-48 hours. However, it took them over a week to get back to me and when they did they would only say, "it seems your computer is completely wrecked and the repair would exceed the cost of the computer itself - oh, but don't worry! It just so happens that we sell new and refurbished ones at very reasonable prices!" As I was 99% sure the computer was not totaled, I went in and asked for a more detailed explanation of what was wrong and which damaged parts might need replacing, since they were claiming that the sum total would exceed the cost of the machine. Now in a highly unprofessional manner, they refused to give me any further information, and would only tell me - and this is word for word - "yeah, uh, I guess we decided it's not really worth our time to fix it, it's just not worth working on... OH BUT WE SELL NEW ONES IF YOU'RE INTERESTED!" Furthermore, it's worth noting that once I did get my laptop back, it was clear that they hadn't even opened it up to take a look at it, and they certainly hadn't turned it on, as I have it set up so that I would have gotten a notification on my phone if they had done so. It was also clear due to their mumbling, uncomfortable, desperately-avoiding-eye-contact, please-just-go-away-if-you're-not-going-to-buy-a-new-computer-from-us manner and their refusal to give specifics that I wasn't going to be able to get a refund of the initial charge, so I gave up in disgust and took my computer to Staples and lo and behold, after paying an impressively modest sum (yay Staples!) I am here typing this review on that very same "wrecked" computer. tl;dr, they took my machine that needed a single part replaced, charged a diagnostic fee, put it on a shelf for a week without a second glance at it, much less the diagnostic they charged me for, then tried to tell me it was completely dead and attempted to sell me a new one instead.
