I saw on their Instagram page that they're going to close this location soon. Sad that I only found out about their location here and recently visited. As of this review, they're currently having a 40% sale of the entire store with a section that's 50% off. I've seen them vend at a lot of SoCal anime conventions, always seeing attendees carry around their logo shopping tote bags with purchases, but alas I feel like the location (swaths of closed shops in the mall) things didn't line up, sadly. There's some cute photo opportunities and there's a decent mix of nerdy collectible goods there like Pop Up Parade figures, Nendoroids, Figma, Funko Pops (ugh), some western media (Star Wars and Stranger Things), Poke'mon goods (cards and some vintage figures), and blind boxes. Was very neat that they had Fate figures since I don't see that as often anymore, unless it's only prize figures, but they had the Figma for Okita Alter, the scale figure for Skadi, and Saber Alter Copoche. However, I'm sadly not in the market for figurines as a person out of space (I'll have you one day Oberon and Nobbu scale figures). Worker was quiet and minded their own business, but answered questions when need be. Hopefully conventions can help them more than what the mall had to offer. read more

I've been following Shumi on social media and I was so excited to find out about their new store at West Covina mall. I was greeted by Adrian as soon as I walked in the door, and he offered to show me around their products! They have a wide selection ranging from blind boxes to funkos, and even Loungeflys. Their funko sleeves are honestly the best quality comparing to other companies, I grabbed a couple of them for my pops! I would say they're priced reasonably and this is such a cute store if you're looking for gifts! read more

I walked in here expecting another generic Anime goods store. To my surprise, they have diversity! Whether it's goods of classic titles like Patkabor, Chinese RPG's like Legend of Sword and Fairy, and Tokusatsu like Kamen Rider, they got it. I discovered Shumi online while looking for a retailer that offered presale for this year's highly sought after Haunted Mansion chase Funko Pops. Their prices were competitive and the entire transaction was smooth. I opted for pickup rather than shipping my order to make sure my Pops were perfect. They notified me via email for pickup around the same time as other retailers received their shipments. The email had clear instructions regarding the contactless pickup process and I was able to schedule from a wide variety of dates and times. The store is located on the same property as other warehouses (use Google Maps to pinpoint exact store location). When I arrived, I called the phone number on the email and provided my order number. I waited in the car until the employee placed my bag outside and went back inside the store before I exited my car. I loved that my order came in a recycle bag and the Pops all came with soft protectors. I'm glad I found Shumi and look forward to purchasing from them again. I like their mint condition policy and the fact that I can inspect the Pops at pickup in case there are any quality issues. read more

Each time spending over $50 i was helped by Priscilla very friendly and helpful. They had a restock of The Rack found lots of pops got 6 for $38.95 Shumi Toys is a great place to get all the pops for my give Christmas Eve give away for all my co-workers. i found it so easy to shop here if you're just buying random pops to give away as gifts, But I would take much, much longer to look through everything for myself, Lol. read more

I was super excited to have to opportunity to stop by their soft opening of their new store location yesterday. My boyfriend and I have been following Shumi for awhile and have invested in pre-orders and mystery boxes through their site as well as app, so it was cool being able to see their stock in person. Their building is like a big warehouse with shelves of pops arranged in different categories already in their soft protectors with the cling wrap still on them. They even had some non-Funko pop figurines for sale as well They had four racks called The Rack, which had special pricing on them with a chance of getting a chase for normal price and the more you buy (limit for the deal is 6) the better deal you get on pops, which was about $40 for 4. The pops on the rack were from different categories and we had the intent of trying to find a chase while searching for pops we liked. These pops were not in pop protectors and not all were perfect. We ended up finding two and keeping one and my boyfriend had found one of the Power Ranger villians he wanted. The owner saw us powering through the racks and asked if we needed help. We told him we needed two more Power Ranger villians and he said he would go to the back to check. He ended up finding one and he and one of the other workers searched through the 4th rack with us. The owner ended up pulling the last one we needed from their regular shelves with a pop protector on it and charged us for all 6 at the rack special pricing. We ended up getting 7 pops for a little over $50.00 and were entered to a raffle to possibly win a Nintendo Switch :) We definitely can't wait to come back! read more

Overall, I believe this is a genuine business. Their prices are not inflated and their shipping fee is quite fair. But, mistakes can happen: Placed an order for two figures in mid-January. About two days later, I was informed one of the figures was not in stock and was only displayed online due to an inventory issue, so they refunded that figure and sent the other. A bit disappointing, since it was a hard to find figure, but whatever. Two weeks later, I'm browsing their site, and I see that refunded figure back on the site. I called to ask if it was just an inventory issue again. I was informed that they actually did have the figure in stock the entire time, they just couldn't find it when I placed my order... (no one ever thought to call or email and tell me that?!) After Shumi had cancelled that figure from my initial order, I had ordered the figure from another store at an unfortunately much higher price. Very annoying. read more
