The building has a long and colorful past, having been a church, an opera house, a bar, etc. We started with fried pickles. The wedges were decently sized and served with a ranch type dressing. Pickles were crisp and tasty, the ranch was decent (but not great). I had the grilled salmon (often a risky proposition), but I'm this case it worked out. It was a good sized piece that was well grilled, done but still flaky, firm but still moist. It doesn't come with anything so I added a side salad. My companion opted for the Hot Chicken sandwich. Looked to be about a 4oz breast dipped in hot honey sauce on a good quality bun, with cole slaw on top. Not the best sandwich ever, but pretty good. We decided to split a bourbon bread pudding (with added ice cream) for dessert. It was excellent! Only downside was that it was a little crisp around the edges. We probably won't be back in West Plains again, but if we are, I wouldn't mind coming back here again.

The fried catfish was honestly some of the best I've ever had -- perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Everything we ordered was seasoned so well: the okra, the fries, all of it was delicious. The seafood is essentially tilapia or white fish(both very cheap to buy) or shrimp. Bad selections in my book, especially for the price(median of 14.99). Two rip-offs here. If you choose to get the pasta, or the ribs...you have to pay for the salad bar, which is 2.99 extra. Every other dinner dish comes with the salad bar. The other rip-off is the price of drinks. I ordered tea, and my wife ordered a soda...both were 2.99. Big rip-off. The cheddar biscuits are pretty much a joke..very very small, but not too bad I suppose if they are hot when you receive them. Now the good...I ordered a petite sirloin medium rare, and it was cooked well and tasted good. I was impressed with the quality of the steak. The salad bar was up to par, fresh, and chilled good. There was a decent variety on the salad bar as well. Our server was very attentive, very professional and ran his tables well. The hostess was great, she opened the door for us coming in and going out. Very professional. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was great and the atmosphere was par. No complaints here at all. I'm giving this a 3/5 for great service and tasty food. It could have been more, but I don't ever expect it to come to that, since this is a chain restaurant.
