I had to provide a credit card and sign a docusign agreement before I was "allowed" to schedule my appt. This place is terrible! They kept changing my appt and not showing up. This place sucks to do business with. I've been doing business with them for over two years in their customer service is horrible! You're better off getting a round barrel and burn your docs in your backyard. You try to call them you're on perm a hold or they tell you to send an email in which they don't respond to. We recently moved our offices you think we could get a hold of shred it... heck no! It's very frustrating to do business with a company that lacks HUGELY In customer service. Our gal spent two hours on the phone with nobody ever picking up. Then she sent an email well that was like two weeks ago still no response. Absolutely awful. I switched to Shred-it because I had a hard time with Iron Mountain coming to my business on the date requested. I made it CLEAR with Hanna at Shred-it that I am only at my office on M and W. She stated that she understood and would have them come pick-up only on those days. First time around they came on TUESDAY. I emailed Hanna about this and she was apologetic and said she sent a notice to the team. I then scheduled the pick up again for another WED and this time I took a screenshot of the date I scheduled. Come to the week of pick up and once again, they come on a TUESDAY. No notice. No nothing. I have it written down everywhere that I am not there on Tuesdays, Thursday, Fridays. ONLY M & W. This is ridiculous. I was promised one thing and got the same thing I had at Iron Mountain. I'm done. I cancelled. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. They can't even follow simple directions or keep their word. read more

This company should not be in business, their customer service is horrible. They don't seem to care about the customers, you call and complaint and nobody cares. Last week I called about 5 times becuase we didn't our regular service and finally someone came after hours and only took one of the 2 containers and leave me a smaller container. If I could give this business negative stars I would. I've worked with them multiple times and somehow every time the experience gets worse. They'll break your contract, not communicate with you, and over charge you. Ever since Covid (two years now) this company is the least reliable for service!!! Not only did they change our customer account number without notifying us, then they sent us to collections due to the fact that they posted our payment to our old account number and it showed our new account in arrears. After a long time on the phone, and multiple calls, we were able to get that straightened out. Then, no one showed for our pickup in January. After 3 phone calls (trying to find out why and scheduling an immediate pickup) I was able to schedule an off schedule pickup, which they did not show up for. Two days after that I called to find out what happened, they continuously appologize and said they would come that same day. Now, today, the next day, they never showed AGAIN !!! Bottom line....DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY !!!!! read more

The company I work for has used Shred-It two times in the past, with their on-site shredding service. Both were bad experiences, as they didn't show up on the day they were supposed to have documents shredded. Upon getting a quote this year, I stated our concern and received an e-mail from Matt, with his direct contact info for "all our future purge needs or daily compliance." This seemed reassuring. So we figured, third time's a charm, we'll give it a go. We signed the documents on a Monday and were told Alexis from dispatch in our area would contact us in the next day or 2 to schedule an on-site shred. A couple days pass and I hadn't been contacted yet, so I called to schedule a time. Melissa informed me we were still pending with the branch. We eventually get on the schedule for that upcoming Tuesday. Mark it on our calendars, are told someone would let us know at least 30-60 minutes before on that day, when they'd arrive. Tuesday comes around, nobody showed up. Wednesday I call and ask what happened? Also stated, this was the issue we've had in the past. We somehow didn't get put on the schedule. Taylor tells me, per his supervisor, they'd have someone out at 9:00am Friday as priority. 10:00 Friday, nobody has shown up. I call and speak with April, she says she needs to get a hold of the branch and will call me back. A couple hours later, no phone call. I call again and speak with Cathy. She tells me the same thing. Another couple hours pass and I speak with Denise, who also tells me the same thing. Somehow we got dropped off the schedule, AGAIN. 45 minutes later, Denise calls me back and lets me know Alexis from dispatch will contact me. She never does. Eventually, Denise tells me someone will be at our office between 3:30-5pm. Upon the initial schedule, I informed Shred-It that our office closes at 3:30pm, so that doesn't work. I'm wondering how we went from priority, first thing in the morning, to last on the list. Denise looks at her drivers locations and lets me know there's a driver near us and they're going to re-route him so we're second to last. Cool. I go upstairs and start hauling boxes down. Not even 5 minutes go by, I have a few boxes downstairs and 6 more at the top of the stairs, ready to go down, Chad calls and says, "turns out the guy we thought was in Lynnwood, is in Tukwila." .... Wow, okay. He apologizes and wants to know if we can have someone out Monday morning. I respond, "Sure. If someone will actually be here..." He says there will be. Well, we'll see. I haul the boxes back upstairs, and put the rest back where they're secure. It's 3:00pm, I call it a day and go home. 30 minutes later (our closing time), I get a picture sent to me of a Shred-It truck sitting in our parking lot. My co-worker informed the driver, Alexander, on what's been going on. He's very kind and helps her bring all the boxes back downstairs, gets it all shredded in 30 minutes. Thank you, Alexander! We appreciate you! And thank you Denise, for keeping me updated. The employees at this company are all very nice! However, the company itself is extremely disorganized. The communications are ridiculous and I only got a call back from one person (Denise). When I'm told someone will be out on a specific day/time, I'm expecting them to be there. Especially when we have to haul a bunch of secured boxes down a flight of stairs. We're not lazy, but it's a pain. Go ahead and use this company if you want, maybe you'll have better luck than us, the 3 times we've used them. We will not be using them again. read more

Since they have merged w/Stericycle service has declined immensely. I'm getting tired of constantly having to call them for pick ups. Do not recommend. After reviewing other service providers in the area looks like we'll get more personalized service and a savings in costs. read more

They are always missing scheduled pick up dates, no one from the local branch calls to apologize for that and I have to sit on the phone for over 20 minutes with some customer service rep that has to call the local branch for me because apparently from the rep the customer cannot call the local branch, what kind of service is that. I am the customer and I should be able to call the local branch. Horrible service and communication sucks. read more

We are now going on week 4 or 5 of getting the run around about our pickup. We have boxes piled up of confidential paperwork that needs to be shredded and every week we call we get a new date for pick up for the following week and get skipped. Every week its an excuse of either short on drivers, a new system or them not knowing what happened. But what shred it doesn't forget to do is collect payment for work that hasn't been done in weeks! An employee of mine decided to try them. Even though she is not authorized to do so (and didn't realize she was), she apparently signed a 5 year contract. A year later, we are moving to paperless documentation- this was always the plan so I know she didn't realize she was signing a 5 year contract. Now they want thousands to cancel. Watch out!!! They quickly returned all my calls, corrected our contracts to fit our needs, provided competitive pricing, and overall fabulous customer service. I gave them a 2 because Denise was great to work with. She said operations would call me to schedule a pick up. They never called. After 3+ weeks she finally told me they could come on Monday. I stated that it needed to be in the morning because my warehouse person left at 2 pm. At 11:50 on Monday I contacted Denise who said the truck would arrive at my business at 2:03 pm. FAIL. Clearly the customer needs are not important. The most frustrating thing is I see their trucks almost daily in my work neighborhood! read more

I would give them a 0 if that was possible. After speaking with Yvonne on a Monday, I was told just some quick paperwork and we can get it done this Thursday or Friday. Sounded great. She did not send the paperwork. I had to call back twice. I faxed it over within an hour. Did not hear back for a day. I called back again. This time I signed, scanned and emailed it. I called back after not hearing anything on Monday. She said she did not receive it. I sent it while we were talking and she said she got it. She also found the previous email. She said she would get it on the schedule. Later that Monday, I got a call from Laura letting me know that I was on the schedule for next Thursday. Did not provide a date. I called back and asked if there was a time. They could not provide one, but said I could call back the morning of the pick up. I called this morning (thursday) and they said I was not on the until next week. At this point, I have made over 10 calls. They have no idea what they are doing in the office. I canceled my appointment. I don't think that they cared much. read more

Pathetic. 0 is my real rating. Sound Shredding served us well for years but were bought out by this hapless outfit. Not only did they show up unannounced following arrangements we made to be notified so we could have our papers at various locations on site, but that was after they forgot about us for a month and we had to chase them up in the first place. Then they charged us the full tote price of $244 for two letter size boxes that didn't even fill a tenth of the tote, while assuring us they would only charge for the 2 boxes we had on site since it was their error not notifying us of the date and time. Yeah, right. And then when we try to pay with a credit card on their automated system, it takes multiple efforts and a case number to even do that! Find ANYONE else. Shred-it's service sucks and they charge an arm and a leg for it! read more
