I am generally not a person who puts down businesses, but I am angry. It has been 8 hours and I am still waiting for the company to show. They refuse to give you a window of time upfront, although I was finally able to get a local manager around noon and was told 3-5 PM. That time frame has passed now. They did not confirm the appointment, either. I would not suggest using them unless you have a whole day to sit at home waiting for them. read more

Have tried for about 8 business days to get through to schedule an additional pick up - I have tried to do the same thing on the customer website - website gives me errors and every time I call I'm on hold for well over 15-20 mins still have yet to get through - Ever since they got bought out - they are horrible - I can't even get them to answer any of the 7 emails I have sent - now I just am cancelling with them and can't even do that via the website, email or the phone...I feel like setting all the containers outside til they show up next month for our normal pick up!!!!!!! read more

I requested a pick up window several times via phone and email. This company does not respect their customers. They lead you to believe that they will provide a pick up window on the morning of service. Want a joke! This is not true evidenced by earlier reviews and my personal experience. Unreliable. Never again will I waste my valuable time trying to coordinate a schredding with ANY Shred it. Ever!

Absolute worst customer service! They will show up on nonscheduled days. They charge you extra surcharges on your statement. Finally when we called to cancel service with them, they agreed to refund us $75 due to their billing issues and we never received it. We've called and left messages several times as well as emailed two times, without any responses. We're a small business so I guess we're not big enough for them to care. read more

Very non-communicative with the customer. Asked for a next day service, never received reply until a few days later. Only supplied a possible date for pick-up, never confirmed actual date or provided a time. Sent e-mails and left messages for information, they never replied back. Don't use these guys. They seem to only cater to big businesses that want a routine scheduled pick-up, not a one-time request. Very unreliable. read more

I contacted Christina Smith at Shred-it on 4/28/22 for a residential shred. She sent me a quote and scheduled me for 5/17/22 stating that she would have the scheduling department to call me and that "for residential clients, we will bring our secured box truck to your residence. The driver will have a certain amount of locking 95 gallon wheeled containers on his truck. He will transfer the material from bags, boxes or even trash cans into the 95's, lock them up and place them onto his truck. Everything will be brought back to our secured facility to shred. You will receive a certificate of destruciton as well. Each 95 gallon container can hold approximately 6--black contractor bags (39 gallon bags) or 10 bankers boxes." She sent over a quote for signature. It was signed and returned the same day. On 5/9/22 still had not heard from anyone and emailed Ms smith asking her to confirm and I never heard back. On the day of the scheduled appointment for 9 am, no one showed. I waited until 9:45 and called and then emailed Ms smith only to find out that we were not on the schedule and that they would not be able to service us because we had a long driveway, etc. I asked her when were we going to be notified as we were doing a residential move out and had a deadline, which she confirmed we had spoke in detail about on 4/29. Ultimately they did not come, made no effort to assist other than for me to load my car and bring it to the end of my driveway or to their site for a savings if $5.00 per bin. Wow - that does nothing for me - as I cannot load this material and the lack of communication and problem resolution was totally poor communication. That is just one gallon of gas at today's prices. If you are a resident and want to use a shred service do not use them, their communication sucks and their follow Thru is non existence. This has nothing to do with Covid just poor customer service. This was a terrible experience and I will never use them again. read more

Disable Gulf war veteran business owner get treated very poorly by the last management staff member. I took the time to reach out to Shred-it of the Southern Baltimore area. It started off nice, polite and sounding like this is a good company to help me with my issue. I communicated what I thought was a fully very important need to the sales director. It started off by email and then we talked by phone and again I made sure I communicated the importance of my need. There was a misunderstanding on both parts but, I thought I made myself VERY CLEAR and we came to an understanding!!! On this side I feel like this was just about getting a business sales deal. On the other side I feel like, me (the customer) best needs at heart was understood and my need was going to be met with the highest honor. I do know about honor because I gave it to my country during the first Gulf War, and even received a Bronze Star from a highly respected general who is no long with us. At any rate, the sale rep sent me a quote and I looked it over and saw that my shred/purge was going to take place so that "(I)" can view the items being destroyed. This was the most VERY IMPORTANT part of the request!!!!! A truck arrived at my location and I help the driver with my items, and to my surprise he said he was taking the items to the company location to shred them. I said no that was not the agreement per my contract. He then called a manager and put him on the phone, and I was talked too so poorly as a customer and he also refuse to give me back my items. He told me I can not have my items back and many other disrespectful words. I called my sales rep and could not reach her. I then called customer service. The young lady I spoke with seem helpful and we came to an agreement in me getting my issue taken care of. To make a long story short. A manager called me and reassured me that my items are safe, I communicated all my issues again and he said he will look into discounting my service. I then received a bill in the mail with a PRICE INCREASE!!!! For closing I called customer service and spoke to management and the guy I talked with, was ONLY concern about me making my payment that was more than the bill I signed online. At the end of the day I paid my bill, I was very respectful to everyone I talked with, ( I was recorded on ALL my Calls) and the last manager I talked with did not care ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about me as a customer let alone as a small business owner. read more
