Show Low Lake County Park is a beautiful place. It is set on a 100-acre tree-lined lake just south of the city. We've been told the lake has an average depth of 33 ft with deeper spots at 50-60 ft. This allows the lake to stay cooler longer so no algae like other lakes in the area. There is a campground, fishing docks, a boat launch, boat & kayak rentals and a picnic area. The lake is a perfect place for wildlife viewing. It is also nice because it allows swimming! We have been to the park numerous times. We have seen a huge bald eagle with bright white head, osprey, Great Blue Heron, and a duck family paddling in a line! We have used the boat launch which has a nice long dock allowing for numerous boats. Boats are required to have a maximum 10 hp motor so it keeps the noise and speeding down. The lake has Rainbow Trout, Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Channel Catfish, Smallmouth Bass and Largemouth Bass. They stock the lake with Rainbow Trout from early spring to August. I definitely recommend going by the Show Low County Park. There is so much to do no matter what you like to do!

Always beautiful!

Had a great stay here with a dear friend over the Labor Day weekend. I flew into the little airport from PHX and my ride was waitin! We stayed in spot 55, no water for this area across the road from the check in spot but it was lovely. Large site, near the hiking trail along the stream fed by the lake. I think this area is more for RVs since the sites are large and we didn't have a normal camp grill or fire ring but the ring of rocks did great for nighttime fires. Had a thunderstorm Saturday night which will be a memory for the ages, and a reminder to always bring the rain fly for your tent

Small Park With Ducks... I really don't want to leave a bad review for this park since it has a little reservoir and ducks to feed... But other than that it is a super small drop of water that doesn't seem to have much going on. It has a small parking lot and s dock next to a boat landing. I guess that's all there is to say... Some benches to sit on or something would be cool too...

Beautiful lake! Just what we were looking for. We enjoyed hiking some of the trails with the little one and the dog. The water is clean and the lake is large. Very relaxing!

Awesome clean spot to relax, float/swim/ride in the lake, fishing, witness beautiful colorful one-of-a-kind sunsets, clean air, amazing critters move among you and hard working pleasant on-grounds staff.

The water was gross and there were way too many people. If you are looking for a nice spot go somewhere (literally anywhere) in Montana.

It's right off the highway, which is very convenient for running in and out of town, but the spots in the back among the trees still make it seem like you're in nature. The campground is a short walk down the road from Rainbow Lake, which is a nice little spot for fishing. I had spot B14 for the weekend, which was larger than most and right next to the water spicket. There are tons of large pine trees throughout the site to provide shade during the heat of the day and campfire tinder. They sell firewood on site, but I think it's chemically treated and produced tons of smoke. I would turn off the main highway and find an empty plot of land and collect you own wood to use for the fire instead. Be sure not to book a spot right next to the toilets...they're the vault toilets that's basically a big hole in the ground and they stink something rotten in the heat of the day when the wind picks up. Overall, a cheap and cheerful way to get out of the desert heat and explore small town Arizona.

We left 5 minutes after we checked in. We tried to cancel our reservation but the website did not work for that either. We called in the next day so they charged us for two nights even though we did not even stay one. We spent the first night in a motel and went to show low lake which actually has a lake.

However they…read morecall it a RV Resort but in all honesty it's a vacation village of privately owned park models. They rent out vacant lots for RV guest. The park management was very courteous and yes the WiFi was very fast. There are a couple small issues that may be bigger issues for some like there are no bathrooms and shower but let's be real, if you have a motorhome or travel trailer you really don't need them you should have your own. Trees are a issue for satellite and the cable tv inputs are only for long term guest and residents. The BIG issue is that the park roads are extremely narrow with some corners cannot be made with a large RV. In our short time stayed I met a lot guest that hit trees or rocks on street corners and RV spaces corners. It's very difficult while maneuvering the narrow streets and sharp corners to the your rv spot. This park is not Big Rig friendly. I however have been RVing for over 20 years and did manage extremely carefully and cautiously with a great deal of stress maneuver our 45 foot Prevost H3 through the park. Several streets the management will even warn you that a simple right or even left turns cannot be made. Unfortunately as friendly as the staff was and as beautiful as the park is I would never try my luck again taking our bus there again. We had a great stay but it is only by the grace of God I was able to get in and out without damaging our Coach. In conclusion I highly recommend this park for smaller RV's and trailer but Big Rigs use extreme caution and be for warned.

I didn't get to see it because it was totally dark out but we heard rustling it the forest that surrounded our trailer. The campground sits at an elevation of 9,100 ft. in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. It is a very scenic area, surrounded with ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, spruce and quaking aspen. We stayed for 4 days and really enjoyed staying here. It is close (they say walking distance but it's a short drive for me) to Big Lake, one of Arizona's top fishing lakes. Big Lake is known for its trout fishing, with rainbow, brown, cutthroat, brook and, even, the critically endangered Apache trout. The recreation area also has great places for hiking, mountain biking, ATV trails, bird watching and wildlife viewing. The trees were hypnotizing. The campground is amazingly clean. I always pick up trash at any area I visit and this is the one place I had to work to find one inch pieces of trash. I highly recommend Apache Trout Campground. It is tough to find days together to reserve because sites get filled fast. Even if you can visit or stay in another campground nearby. It is worth enjoying nature in its best.
