We are upping our rating because we love the staff so much and feel home away from home and safe with them around. We have made so many memories so far this summer just coming here the last 2.5 weeks (2 separate camping trips). Met so many nice folks around here and my boys love it here too and the lake. It's just a shame there are some sad activities happening- like Kayaks getting stolen and some rando showed up last night and popped up his camp on a reserved space- and there was a guy who had a fire pit going and was being crazy about that and Fire dept had to be called. These Hosts def do their job but I'm glad they have city support when people are crazy around here. read more

Very noise from the road between the lake and tent camp area.all night long. The camp gound next to the tent area has a huge security light that lit up my entire site. High in and out traffic all day and night. Picnic table was unsafe very wobbly. The bath room was DIRTY. The toilet seat had dried urine on the seat, the floor was very dirty. The check sheet for cleaning indicated last cleaned 6/28/25 and when I checked out 2 days later still had not been cleaned. Plus was the lake and staff were nice. Resturants highly recommend The North and Monica's for breakfast. My favorite was the Brewery 10 minutes away Pinetop Brewing company. All 3 are dog friendly. I will definitely go.back to the area, but will stay elsewhere. read more

Show Low Lake County Park is a beautiful place. It is set on a 100-acre tree-lined lake just south of the city. We've been told the lake has an average depth of 33 ft with deeper spots at 50-60 ft. This allows the lake to stay cooler longer so no algae like other lakes in the area. There is a campground, fishing docks, a boat launch, boat & kayak rentals and a picnic area. The lake is a perfect place for wildlife viewing. It is also nice because it allows swimming! We have been to the park numerous times. We have seen a huge bald eagle with bright white head, osprey, Great Blue Heron, and a duck family paddling in a line! We have used the boat launch which has a nice long dock allowing for numerous boats. Boats are required to have a maximum 10 hp motor so it keeps the noise and speeding down. The lake has Rainbow Trout, Bluegill, Green Sunfish, Channel Catfish, Smallmouth Bass and Largemouth Bass. They stock the lake with Rainbow Trout from early spring to August. I definitely recommend going by the Show Low County Park. There is so much to do no matter what you like to do! read more

The water was gross and there were way too many people. If you are looking for a nice spot go somewhere (literally anywhere) in Montana.

Everything one would need to have fun at a county park. Fishing, hiking trails, water sports, playgrounds, campground....you get the idea. I can only speak for the fishing, which is only good as the fisherman who is fishing. read more

Had a great stay here with a dear friend over the Labor Day weekend. I flew into the little airport from PHX and my ride was waitin! We stayed in spot 55, no water for this area across the road from the check in spot but it was lovely. Large site, near the hiking trail along the stream fed by the lake. I think this area is more for RVs since the sites are large and we didn't have a normal camp grill or fire ring but the ring of rocks did great for nighttime fires. Had a thunderstorm Saturday night which will be a memory for the ages, and a reminder to always bring the rain fly for your tent read more

Small Park With Ducks... I really don't want to leave a bad review for this park since it has a little reservoir and ducks to feed... But other than that it is a super small drop of water that doesn't seem to have much going on. It has a small parking lot and s dock next to a boat landing. I guess that's all there is to say... Some benches to sit on or something would be cool too... read more

Lake is nice. Port A Potties at the campground are FULL and need to be EMPTIED. The pile of excrement almost reaches the seat and the FLIES!! A hundred poop covered flies flying around inside the potty. Also, there are idiots at driving near the campground hooting and hollering at 4:00 AM and the noise violations are not being enforced. read more

THERE ARE MORE RULES TO THE CAMP GROUND THAN LISTED ON THE WEBSITE. Peaceful camp sites for inexperienced campers. Each camp site is very close to the next and the camp ground attendants check on everyone more than frequently. Camp is in located between a road and a highway so at night time you can hear the traffic while you're trying to sleep. The attendants, a husband and a wife, quickly became micromanagers stopping at camp our camp frequently throughout the day to stare our camp down to find any rules.... and there's a lot of them... that might be broken. Even if you protect the trees with padding, you're not allowed to hang anything from the trees such as hammocks or rain tarps which is not listed on the website or mentioned at all. (The rules only refer to permanent structures/nails in the trees) Our encounter with the male attendant was very unfavorable and made snarky comments as we were walking away from the check in desk and his wife was not much nicer. The way they handled correcting us if there was a problem was so very rude. For the amount of fees that we paid for what little camping we actually did, they should respect their guests a little more. If you need supervision while camping this is the site for you. There's also fishing so if that's what you're there for then you might enjoy this place read more

Nice little lake to take a walk, kayak, sight see or whatever pleases you. You'll see ducks swimming around trying to get food from you! But they are cute. Great views with Pinetop a surrounding the lake. Nice spot to go for a walk or to just get some fresh air. Easy to find and plenty of parking. read more

Despite title, they are NOT an embroidery and Crochet place, nor a hotel! OK, that out of the way...They ARE a campground! campshowlowlake.com I don't know how I stumbled on this place via the internet- but I ended up calling late spring to book a tent site for 4th of July weekend. NO, you can not book online. WHICH, is prob why I got a spot! Not just A spot, but a PREMIUM, OVERLOOKING THE LAKE , GREAT SPOT! For that, they should get 5 stars. We were in E..they offer these 'premium' lots across from the main campground loops--which you pay a few bucks more for. (note, they do have power hook ups in the main campground) These sites are no electric. Typical fire pit and picnic table provided. E is the last site along the edge overlooking lake, there are 2 others that fall between vault toilets and E. (NOTE..these toilets get used by everyone using the boat launch parking...eeekkkk) All these sites have room for 2 or more tents. Room for 2 trucks per, and you are close enough to launch lot, you can park there if need be. You can set up and enjoy the beautiful view of this lake! Its a non sport lake, so nice and quiet...and lots of fisherman. THAT is my negative-- despite a trail going down to the lake, that is NOT marked, but the obvious path E of all campsites...Most folks just wander on through your sites and down the rocks...even after repeatedly pointing out the easier path E of us. (1 minute farther!) They need to get signage! The main bath house by check in has 2 very nice flush toilets and showers. Free for campers. But hours are not late! There are nice dumpsters and bear trash cans to use. The main campground was packed this weekend, but all seemed to be enjoying..tents and RVs.. You can rent boats from the main check in also. This place also has a large group area to the West of the lake. And there is public access on the West and North of the lake for fisherman, in addition to the boat launch. We enjoyed watching the kayaks, pontoons, and fisherman! Camp hosts were friendly. NOTE...the town is extremely close- and hospital is literally around corner a few miles. So you can get up to fast food, shopping, restaurants, etc.. very quickly. I'll skip shopping ahead next time! WIFI at fast food joints and Lowes parking lot! read more

My wife and I stayed at Show Low Lake Campground from July 14 through July 19, 2017. We were very displeased. We had made our reservations well in advance of our stay. Our site was right on Show Low Lake Road. All that separated the road from our site were some boulders. As soon as we saw the site (#32) we were assigned we turned around and asked for a refund. The woman at the desk informed us that they normally did not refund money and that the manager was not due in until the next day. We could call the manager and wait for her to reply. In the meanwhile, she could not tell us what to do leave or stay. We went back to the site hoping the next day the manager would see her way clear to refund us our $150.00. We set up camp for the night. Our site was so close to Show Low Lake Road that people driving by were waving at us as we sat at our site. Being so close to the road and noticeable made us extremely insecure about leaving our camping equipment unattended as well as having safety concerns. I was also not looking forward to listening to the traffic all night. Approximately 2 hours after we set up our 14-person Camping Cabin one of the staff members came to us to ask if we wanted the electricity we paid extra for because they could move us to another site off the road more. However, this site did not have electricity. Having been told that I would probably not see a refund since it wasn't the practice of this campground I knew enough not to ask if I would see one for the amount extra paid for 5 days of electricity. The next morning I got up and saw the manager. We assumed correctly that we were not going to receive a refund. We felt stuck there for four more nights and wondered what do other people do if they are unhappy with the campground, forfeit their money? What happened to customer service? Making the best of a bad situation, we set up the rest of our camp and went to see the rest of the campground. Our observations are listed below. * The lake is beautiful * It was good to see bear proof trash bins * There was no water at any site. The only water I saw was in front of the vault toilets. * The vault toilets could be smelled clear out to the path in front of the building past the water supply * I was concerned about seepage from the vault to the water supply given the odor * At the very least hand sanitizer could have been provided for guests in the toilets * The toilet floors and walls could be swept out, I wouldn't want to use these at night * Even though there is signs posted regarding bears in the area there is no dish washing station. We were expected to wash at our site which might attract bears and flies. * There was a bear sighting the night before just down the road from where we were camped * There was no lock on the bathroom door * Two showers are inadequate for the amount of campsites * The showers are not private having to walk through one to get to the other * There could have been trees or some kind of foliage planted in the back of our campsite to block the view to the road and perhaps muffle the sound a bit * We were told that our site was a premium site and could not be refunded due to noise * We were told that at night there is not a lot of traffic, which was not true. When we got up in the morning there were cars parked off the road just outside our site We were literally not happy campers at Show Low Lake. read more

I called ahead to the management company, Recreation Resource Managers of America, to get a rate because the rate charts they have posted online don't make sense . The associate who answered the phone looked at the charts , consulted with someone else , and gave me a rate of $15 per night for a full hook up. We arrived at the campground a couple of hours later and found no one there. The office was closed there were no hosts anywhere. Since we had already been quoted a rate and driven all this way to the campground we picked a site and set up. A short time later the host arrived and immediately informed me that the rate was not $15 that it was more than that and that if I was unwilling to pay it he would call the police and have me removed. This was an unprovoked verbal attack by the campground host on a guest who had just arrived and was trying to pay for the camping. He had already been advised by the corporate office that they had quoted me a rate of $15 per night and he refused to honor that rate. Furthermore the corporate managers refused to honor the $15 rate as well. The campground itself seems to be OK but the people running the show make it very unattractive. I would stay away from this campground and any campground managed by this company. And this is the problem with camping around the US these days. The National forest service, the national Park system, and many states have hired a third-party managers and third party reservation managers who don't have a clue what goes on at the campground they manage. This has been done in an effort to cut costs, no doubt in my mind. All the while the government employees stand around and twiddle their thumbs with very little to do. If the parks want to take reservations let the people who work there take the reservations. Sure makes sense to me. I rate this experience one star. If I could rate it negative one star I would. read more

First off, we did not stay at this campground but did visit with the main purpose of renting their boat and going to the lake. At first glance the campground looks pretty nice, nice playgrounds for the kids, sites look decent sized. As we inquired about a boat off and on for approx two hours, 4 of their boats sat docked right next to the dock we ended up fishing on. I only wanted a boat for one hour so my 5 yr old daughter could experience it and hopefully catch a fish and we would be happy. After 2 hours went by and we saw numerous people rent the boats and bring others back, I got fed up. The lady at the desk told me there was not a waiting list and wouldn't even tell me what time the boats were required to be back so we could come back to the desk at a specific time. Each time I asked about a boat, I got the run around. During this time, we used their bathrooms, I would rather pee behind a tree any day than subject myself to that again. They obviously do not clean or check them, the shit smeared along the wall, the toilet paper all over the floor, the stench was awful, I was gagging and about to puke. Just an awful experience for us. read more
